Jewish prayer in a synagogue
Morning prayer was made with tallit and tefillin. A tallit (Hebrew: טַלִּית) (talet in Sephardic Hebrew and Ladino) (tallis, in Ashkenazic Hebrew and Yiddish) pl. tallitot (talleisim,] tallism, in Ashkenazic Hebrew and Yiddish) is a Jewish prayer shawl. The tallit is worn over the outer clothes during the morning prayers (Shacharit) on weekdays, Shabbat and holidays. The tallit has special twined and knotted fringes known as tzitzit attached to its four corners. Most traditional tallitot are made of wool. Tallitot are often given as gifts to children on their Bar Mitzvahs. In orthodox circles, a Tallit is customarily presented to a groom before marriage as part of the dowry. Tefillin (Askhenazic: /ˈtfɪlɨn/; Israeli Hebrew: [tfiˈlin], תפילין) also called phylacteries (/fɪˈlæktəriːz/ from Ancient Greek phylacterion, form of phylássein, φυλάσσειν meaning "to guard, protect") are a set of small black leather boxes containing scrolls of parchment inscribed with verses from the Torah, which are worn by observant Jews during weekday morning prayers. Although "tefillin" is technically the plural form (the singular being "tefillah"), it is loosely used as a singular as well.[1] The hand-tefillin, or shel yad, is placed on the upper arm, and the strap wrapped around the arm, hand and fingers; while the head-tefillin, or shel rosh, is placed above the forehead. The Torah commands that they should be worn to serve as a "sign" and "remembrance" that God brought the children of ...

Benedict XVI at Romes synagogue : Jewish and Catholic communities need to work together
Benedict XVIs first visit to Romes synagogue was filled by a number of historic gestures. Before stepping foot inside, the pope made a stop before the monument that stands in memory of more than 1 thousand Jews, the Nazis held captive in Rome in 1943 and later deported to Auschwitz. Benedict XVI placed a crown of flowers in their memory. This was the second time a pope walked into a synagogue in the Eternal City. John Paul II was the first in 1986. Benedict XVI said hes following his predecessors footsteps to reinforce the Catholic Churchs relationship with the Jewish community. Riccardo Di Segni Chief Rabbi of Rome When John Paul II visited, he compared the relationship between the Jewish community and the Catholic community to that of brothers. But this visit was preceded by a lot of controversy. Days before, a senior member of the Italian Jewish community said he would not attend, protesting against the silence of Pius XII during the Holocaust. An issue that was addressed during the popes visit. Riccardo Pacifici President Jewish community of Rome A number of religious institutions in Italy and other parts of Europe opened their doors, putting their lives in danger to save the lives of million of Jews without asking for anything in return. Thats why we believe Pius XIIs silence against the Holocaust was something very hurtful. Benedict XVI responded with gestures and words. Some were moved when the German pope, stood up as a sign of respect before the Holocaust ...

Offensive: Michele Bachmann Synagogue Visit
"Rep. Michele Bachmann may have sparked aa furor by deciding to attend Yom Kippur services last week at a Chicago temple that espouses tolerance for gay and lesbian members, but the synagogue's Rabbi says the fiery Minnesota Republican is still welcome there. Some members of the Anshe Emet congregation were outraged by her presence on the holiest day of the Jewish year and the acknowledgement she received from Rabbi Michael Siegel, in spite of her opposition to gay rights. At least one stormed out, and started raising money for Bachmann's Democratic challenger, Jim Graves. But Siegel told The Huffington Post in a phone interview that most of his flock was less offended. "I've also heard a great deal of support from the congregation," he said...".* The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur breaks it down. *Read more here from Michael McAuliff / The Huffington Post: www.huffingtonpost.com Support The Young Turks by Subscribing bit.ly Like Us on Facebook: www.fb.com Follow Us on Twitter: bit.ly Buy TYT Merch: theyoungturks.spreadshirt.com Find out how to watch The Young Turks on Current by clicking here: www.current.com

The Lord gave me two warning dreams to get me up to speed on the ramped up attack of the Synagogue of satan. Revelation 2:8-11 Message to Smyrna 8 "And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: The first and the last, who [fn5] was dead, and has come to life, says this: 9 'I know your tribulation and your poverty (but you are rich), and the blasphemy by those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. 10 Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you will be tested, and you will have tribulation for ten days. [fn6] Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. 11 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes will not be hurt by the second death.' Revelation 3:7-13 Message to Philadelphia 7 "And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: He who is holy, who is true, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says this: 8 'I know your [fn4] deeds. Behold, I have put before you an open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power, and have kept My word, and have not denied My name. 9 Behold, I [fn5] will cause those of the synagogue of Satan, who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie—I will make them come and bow down [fn6] at your feet, and make them know that I have loved you. 10 Because you have kept the word of My [fn7] perseverance, I also will keep ...

Toledo, Spain
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Founded 7th century
Toledo (Latin: Toletum) is a municipality located in central Spain, 70 km south of Madrid. It is the capital of the province of Toledo and of the autonomous community of Castile-La Mancha. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986 for its extensive cultural and monumental heritage as one of the former capitals of the Spanish Empire and place of coexistence of Christian, Jewish and Moorish cultures. Many famous people and artists were born or lived in Toledo, including Al-Zarqali, Garcilaso de la Vega, Alfonso X and El Greco. It was also the place of important historic events such as the Visigothic Councils of Toledo. As of 2007, the city has a population of 78,618 and an area of 232.1 km² (89.59 square miles).
Toledo once served as the capital city of Visigothic Spain, beginning with Liuvigild (Leovigild), and was the capital until the Moors conquered Iberia in the 8th century. Under the Caliphate of Cordoba, Toledo enjoyed a golden age. This extensive period is known as La Convivencia, i.e. the co-existence of Jews, Christians, and Muslims. Under Arab rule, Toledo was called Tulaytulah (Arabic طليطلة, academically transliterated Ṭulayṭulah).
On May 25, 1085 Alfonso VI of Castile took Toledo and established direct personal control over the Moorish city from which he had been exacting tribute, and ending the mediaeval Taifa's Kingdom of Toledo . This was the first concrete step taken by the combined kingdom of Leon-Castile in the Reconquista by Christian forces.
Toledo was famed for its production of iron and especially of swords and the city is still a center for the manufacture of knives and other steel implements. When Philip II moved the royal court from Toledo to Madrid in 1561, the old city went into a slow decline from which it never recovered.
Toledo's Alcázar became renowned in the 19th and 20th centuries as a military academy. At the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War in 1936 its garrison was famously besieged by Republican forces.
Arts and culture
Toledo reached its zenith in the era of Islamic Caliphate. Historian P. de Gayangos writes:
The Muslim scientists of this age were not rivaled in the world. Perhaps among their greatest feats were the famous waterlocks of Toledo.[1]
The old city is located on a mountaintop with a 150 degrees view, surrounded on three sides by a bend in the Tagus River, and contains many historical sites, including the Alcázar, the cathedral (the primate church of Spain), and the Zocodover, a central market place.
From the 4th century to the 16th century about thirty synods were held at Toledo. The earliest, directed against Priscillian, assembled in 400. At the synod of 589 the Visigothic King Reccared declared his conversion from Arianism; the synod of 633 decreed uniformity of liturgy throughout the Visigothic kingdom and took stringent measures against baptized Jews who had relapsed into their former faith. The council of 681 assured to the archbishop of Toledo the primacy of Spain.
As nearly one hundred early canons of Toledo found a place in the Decretum Gratiani, they exerted an important influence on the development of ecclesiastical law. The synod of 1565–1566 concerned itself with the execution of the decrees of the Council of Trent; and the last council held at Toledo, 1582–1583, was guided in detail by Philip II.
Toledo was famed for religious tolerance and had large communities of Muslims and Jews until they were expelled from Spain in 1492 (Jews) and 1502 (Muslims). Today's city contains the religious monuments the Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca, the Synagogue of El Transito, Mosque of Cristo de la Luz and the church of San Sebastián dating from before the expulsion, still maintained in good condition. Among Ladino-speaking Sephardi Jews, in their various diasporas, the family name Toledano is still prevalent - indicating an ancestry traced back to this city (the name is also attested among non-Jews in various Spanish-speaking countries).
In the 13th century, Toledo was a major cultural center under the guidance of Alfonso X, called "El Sabio" ("the Wise") for his love of learning. The program of translations, begun under Archbishop Raymond of Toledo, continued to bring vast stores of knowledge to Europe by rendering great academic and philosophical works in Arabic into Latin. The Palacio de Galiana, built in the Mudéjar style, is one of the monuments that remain from that period.
The Cathedral of Toledo (Catedral de Toledo) was built between 1226-1493 and modeled after the Bourges Cathedral, though it

Synagogue of Satan part 1
The spirit of anti-messiah is that of those who deny that Yahusha came in the flesh. The synagogue of Satan doesn't not believe that Yahusha is the messiah. They have assumed the identity of true Yisra'el. A case of national identity theft. This may sound unusual but there is another recorded case of this in history. When the Greeks invaded Egypt they were so impressed by the culture and monuments that they tried to rewrite Egyptian history as if they were they founders of it. You will see that the last dynasty of Egypt was a Greco-Roman one. The star that they call the "Star of David" is a astral sign: the tailsman of Saturn (another name for Satan). It geometrically adds up to 666: 6 points on the star, 6 triangles around a 6 side polygon. Yisra'el was warned against worshiping astral phenomenon. The Synagogue of Satan has put this Star into use as a form of witchcraft.

Kupa Synagogue Krakow בית הכנסת קופה קרקוב
Kupa Synagogue (Polish: Synagoga Kupa) is a synagogue in Kraków, Poland. It is located in the former Jewish quarter of Kazimierz developed from a neighborhood earmarked in 1495 by King Jan I Olbracht for the Jewish community, which has been transferred from the budding Old Town. Kupa Synagogue serves Kraków's Jewish community as one of the venues for religious ceremonies and cultural festivals. The Synagogue was founded in 1643 by the Kazimierz Jewish district's kehilla (a municipal form of self-government), as a foundation of the local kahal. A contribution of 200 zlotys by the Jewish goldsmiths' guild helped to bring the construction to its successful end. The Synagogue was built in a baroque style with a square prayer hall inside. The building underwent many renovations throughout the centuries. In 1830-1834 the two-storey annex was added with entrance hall and washrooms. In 1861 the western wing was built. At the end of the 19th century, the synagogue was joined with the adjacent building. Following ravages of World War II, it has been meticulously restored. Its northern wall connects with the remnants of the medieval city-wall of Kazimerz while its southern flank faces Warchauera Street. The colorful interior of the Kupa Synagogue serves as an exhibition hall and the venue for musical events. The Synagogue is richly decorated with paintings from the 1920's featured on walls, the ceiling and in the women's section. The depictions include the holy places of Hebron ...

Rabbi's home destroyed, Synagogue flooded
To help the Goodman Family please donate: fundrazr.com As residents from all over New York and New Jersey have begun clean up from the effects of Hurricane Sandy, the shluchim to Long Beach, Long Island find themselves with no home and a badly damaged shul. Rabbi Eli Goodman and his wife Beila along with their 4 children run the BACH Jewish Center in Long Beach NY. The Goodman family home as well as the offices are located right near the boardwalk and on the ground floor. From the front door of their home one can see the beach a mere 20 ft away. Before the storm began the Goodman family evacuated to a friend's home taking with them their Rebbe dollars, passports and a change of clothing. As Hurricane Sandy crashed on to the shores of Long Beach, the water rushed in from the beach filling all the streets, flooding homes, moving cars, tearing up the iconic Long Beach boardwalk, and smashing through 2ft thick cement walls meant to hold back the sea. The scene at the Goodman home is one of utter chaos and destruction. Close to 2ft of sand cover the floor throughout the apartment, with dishes, sforim, toys and other household items trapped within. Water levels reached 4 to 5 ft ruining many shelves of seforim and books including a Chosson Shas and leather Siddurim from their wedding. Photos of the children litter the floor along with chairs, clothing and large pieces of wood from the boardwalk. The Chabad House is flooded with 4ft of water destroying the social hall, stage ...
