VHS or Beta is a band originally from Louisville, Kentucky, later based in Brooklyn, New York, that combines elements of rock, house and disco. Their self-released debut EP Le Funk found some success on the charts, but the band became better known in the wake of the 2004 album Night on Fire. After two and half years of touring, VHS or Beta recorded 2007's Bring on the Comets in Asheville, NC, marking a slight change in direction towards a more straightforward pop sound, achieved without sacrificing their trademark dance sensibility. Later singles "Feel It When You Know" (2009) and "All Summer in a Day" (2010) were issued on their own Chromosome Records label. The band's third album Diamonds and Death was released in September 2011.
The band's core members are guitarist/vocalist Craig Pfunder and bassist Mark Palgy. Guitarist Zeke Buck and drummer Mark Guidry, both founding members, left the band in 2006 and 2010, respectively. Guitarists Mike McGill and Eric Rodgers, keyboardists Chea Beckley and Jerome Miller, and drummers Jim Orso and Chris Berry have all toured and/or recorded with the band.
The Video Home System (VHS) is a standard for consumer-level use of analog recording on videotape cassettes. It was developed by Victor Company of Japan (JVC) in the 1970s.
From the 1950s magnetic tape video recording became a major contributor to the television industry, via the first commercialized video tape recorders (VTRs). At that time, the devices were used only in expensive professional environments such as television studios and medical imaging (fluoroscopy). In the 1970s videotape entered home use, creating the home video industry and changing the economics of the television and movie businesses. The television industry viewed VCRs as having the power to disrupt their business, while television users viewed the VCR as the means to take control of their hobby.
In the 1980s and 1990s, at the peak of VHS's popularity, there were videotape format wars in the home video industry. Two of the formats, VHS and Betamax, received the most media exposure. VHS eventually won the war, succeeding as the dominant home video format throughout the tape media period.

Beta (UK /ˈbiːtə/ or US /ˈbeɪtə/; uppercase Β, lowercase β, or cursive ϐ; Ancient Greek: βῆτα bḗta or Modern Greek: βήτα víta) is the second letter of the Greek alphabet. In Ancient Greek, beta represented the voiced bilabial plosive /b/. In Modern Greek, it represents the voiced labiodental fricative /v/. Letters that arose from beta include the Roman letter ⟨B⟩ and the Cyrillic letters ⟨Б⟩ and ⟨В⟩.
Like the names of most other Greek letters, the name of beta was adopted from the acrophonic name of the corresponding letter in Phoenician, which was the common Semitic word *bayt ('house'). In Greek, the name was βῆτα bêta, pronounced [bɛ̂ːta] in Ancient Greek. It is spelled βήτα in modern monotonic orthography, and pronounced [ˈvita]. In US English, the name is pronounced /ˈbeɪtə/, while in British English it is pronounced /ˈbiːtə/.
The letter beta was derived from the Phoenician letter beth .
The letter Β had the largest number of highly divergent local forms. Besides the standard form (either rounded or pointed, ), there were forms as varied as (Gortyn), and (Thera), (Argos), (Melos), (Corinth), (Megara, Byzantium), (Cyclades).

My version of lyrics: I've got too many in the size of my head, and I'm thinking It's soon to keep me from coming here I've got too many in the springs of my heart, every feeling about to turn you when I want It's always the bright side we're taking No wars are raging It's easier to leave it You are alone So wake up, wake up, wake up Won't you fall down lightly, lightly Stay up, stay up, stay up Won't you tell me something, something We always had a thing or two between the way we are So wake up, wake up, wake up Won't you fall down lightly, lightly I'd give you everything, anything that I own, every second Just to know where this comes from And all the grace and the gods in the world, for each other will have to keep us from letting go It's always the bri...

Lyrics We will try to waste them So you can try to feel 'em It's all in the name of hell We got to fear it with a good sensation It's easy come and go We want something Everyone wants something Everyone's got to believe We take you to it, nothing else to do But live the life, it's all a lie We burn the flags, burn the house Burn the church, just burn it all down We burn the streets, burn the trees Burn the lessons, burn it all down We burn the flags, burn the house Burn the church, just burn it all down We burn the signs, burn the saints Burn the sinners Burn the whole thing down, down, down Burn it all down We pay with riches We took the stitches out of our wounded eyes Install the masses with cynical retraction They know your coded lies We can't function, no one here can function...

Explore the orgins of Sony's Video World with this classic Sony SLO-320 Betamax VCR from 1977. The first Betamax introduced in the United States was the LV-1901 console, which included a 19-inch (48 cm) color monitor, and appeared in stores in early November 1975. The cassettes contain 0.50-inch-wide (12.7 mm) videotape in a design similar to that of the earlier, professional 0.75-inch-wide (19 mm), U-matic format. Betamax is obsolete, having lost the videotape format war to VHS. Production of Betamax recorders ceased in 2002; new Betamax cassettes were available until March 2016, when Sony stopped making and selling them. Their self-released debut, Le Funk, was a minor splash in the record charts but it wasn't until 2004's Night on Fire that the band achieved great success. The band's core members are guitarist/vocalist Craig Pfunder, bassist Mark Palgy, and drummer Mark Guidry. In 2005 they toured with Duran Duran.

Last year I got my first Betamax VCR for my 21st birthday. Since I got the machine fully restored, I've been having loads of fun gathering together old and obscure films on this wonderfully retro format. I'll be making a future video showing my machine and a few more in-depth things. I WANT YOUR MTV! If you have old Beta or VHS tapes containing recordings of MTV from 1981 - 1987, I would love to talk with you (especially if the tapes contain the videos, VJs, and commercials!) I'll either buy your tapes, accept donations, or transfer them for you! Shoot me a message and let's talk! This recording of SCRUPLES was discovered on an old betamax video tape. It was recorded from CBS on September 7th, 1982. Originally broadcast in 1980 in three parts, the mini-series had been edited together into two parts for this re-broadcast. This video contains the commercial breaks only. The actual programming has been extracted due to copyright restrictions.

Found this really weird VHS in a flea market of one of the F13 movies. Looks like some really sexy devs were in this movie or something I don't know. I was totally just wanted to upload this footage I got with the devs and was testing out some stuff in my editing software so if I looks weird that's why

NOTE: At one point, there was a Content ID claim on this episode (which was resolved). Unfortunately, several (unrelated) minutes of the video’s audio somehow got corrupted in the process. So, after numerous viewer complaints, here is a reupload (complete with the reinstatement of a certain small slice of 80’s frommage)! ANOTHER NOTE: This episode always had a rather poor audio mix. Unfortunately, the “multitracks” for this particular episode are lost to time, so an overhaul of the audio track is impossible. ORIGINAL TAGLINE: VHS or Beta? Laserdisc or CED? What the hell is a CED anyway? These burning questions (amongst others) answered in this episode! (C) The Walt Disney Company, 1986. Debido a las restricciones del copyright de Disney, se han cortado algunos fragmentos, por lo que este vídeo dura 109 minutos. Si posees el VHS o Beta original pero no puedes verlo por no disponer de un reproductor,...

The format war was raging on in the mid 1980's, and featured here was a VCR of epic proportions. Packed with features and digital effects, this VCR should have brought an end to VHS. It packed a powerful punch, but it simply didn't draw the rebels from their format, it drew them in even further! The databits channel is pleased to provide you with the best in new tech, vintage and oddity gadgets, media formats, repair projects, electronic experiments and restorations of thrift store finds. There are also many "how to" and instructional titles. Fireworks and sparks when the fever starts in your eyes tonight
Explosions of heat and electricity in the firefight
I'm not bound to anything you've said to me
I can't ignore the way you adore my mystery
And I'm runnin' runnin' runnin' home just to see you alone
And I'm falling deeper into love faster than you know
Believe it when I say
Say it say it over again
Everything's better off this way
And when you think everything's lost
You got me
Tonight I just want you to see
I know I've never felt this way
And when you think everything's lost
You got me
Static and sleep in between bedroom sheets in your arms tonight
Keeps us alive when the sparks start to die in the bedroom light
I can't stop this even if you want me to
If you could only see what I see then you'll want me too
And I'm runnin' runnin' runnin' home just to see you alone
And I'm falling deeper into love faster than you know
Believe it when I say
Say it say it over again
Everything's better off this way
And when you think everything's lost
You got me
Tonight I just want you to see
I know I've never felt this way
And when you think everything's lost
You got me
Believe it when I say...
