After the retirement of WHY I OUGHTTA, former drummer Cody Andrews had a vision for a new metal project in which he would take the mic as lead vocalist. He and former WHYiOUGHTTA guitarist Robby Naumann met drummer Jordan Cropper attending Scream the Prayer together in Seattle where initial dialogues began to take place. Only days later, Cody began to share about the progress of the project with roommate Shaun Elligott, who was immediately interested and enlisted as bassist. Originally under the name Advocate, the guys immediately connected through Christ. The band began writing right away, initially with a second guitarist who soon dropped off. After parting ways, the band made the decision to stay a one guitar band until if/when God were to bring another. The guys continued aggressively writing and practicing to prepare for their first show, which was to be about a month after the creation of the project. Now under the name Adonijah (My Lord is Yahweh), the guys are continuing to hit it hard. Since the release of their self titled EP, Adonijah is continuing to write for a full length album, which will be released in 2011. The guy's vision for the band is to follow God, pursuing ministry opportunities wherever and whenever possible.
