The Manila Light Rail Transit System Line 1 is the first metro line of the Manila Light Rail Transit System. Presently, the line contains twenty stations and runs on 19.65 kilometers (12.21 mi) of fully elevated route. The line is colored yellow (old) and green (new) on all LRT maps.
The line runs in a general north-south direction from Baclaran to Monumento; then, it runs in an east-west direction from Monumento to North Avenue, linking the cities of Quezon City, Caloocan, Manila, Pasay, and Parañaque. Passengers can transfer to the Line 2 at Doroteo Jose station, while passengers can transfer to the Line 3 at EDSA and North Avenue stations.
The Line 1 was known for many names such as LRT Line 1, shortened to LRT-1, Yellow Line, Green Line (2012), or the Metrorail. However, the yellow color of the line dates back to its opening in 1984.
On September 12, 2015, Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC), a joint venture company of Metro Pacific's Metro Pacific Light Rail Corporation (MPLRC), Ayala Corporation’s AC Infrastructure Holdings Corporation (AC Infra), and the Philippine Investment Alliance for Infrastructure’s Macquarie Infrastructure Holdings (Philippines) PTE Ltd. (MIHPL), started a 32-year concession for the operation and maintenance of LRT Line 1 and the construction of a PhP 65 billion extension project to Bacoor, Cavite.
The Manila Light Rail Transit System Line 6 (LRT-6) is a proposed rapid transit line to be built in Cavite just south of Metro Manila in the Philippines. Also known as Phase 2 of the Manila Light Rail Transit System Line 1 South Extension (LRT-1 Extension), this line is planned to link the suburban city of Dasmariñas to the future Manila LRT-1 extension at Niog Station in Bacoor. Its path would run along a north-south axis over a length of 19 kilometres (12 mi). Its proposed right-of-way alignment is along Aguinaldo Highway from Niog in Bacoor to Governor's Drive in Dasmariñas.
The LRT-6 project will cost an estimated PHP64 billion or US$1.42 billion. It was approved by the Investment Coordination Committee–Cabinet Committee (ICC-CABCOM) of the National Economic and Development Authority last April 2015 as a public-private partnership project. When completed, it is expected to significantly reduce the volume of vehicular traffic in the Cavite area and improve passenger mobility in the southern parts of the metropolis.
The Manila Light Rail Transit System Line 2, also known as LRT Line 2, LRT-2, or Megatren, is a rapid transit line in Metro Manila in the Philippines, generally running in an east-west direction along the Radial Road 6 and a portion of the Circumferential Road 1. Although operated by the Light Rail Transit Authority, resulting to it being called as "LRT-2", it is actually a heavy rail, rapid transit system owing to its use of Electric multiple units instead of light rail vehicles used in earlier lines and is currently the only line utilizing such type of system in the country. Envisioned in the 1970s as part of the Metropolitan Manila Strategic Mass Rail Transit Development Plan, the eleven-station, 13.8-kilometer (8.6 mi) line was the third rapid transit line to be built in Metro Manila when it started operations in 2003. It is operated by the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA), a government-owned and controlled corporation under the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) under a Official development assistance scheme.
The Manila Light Rail Transit System, popularly and informally known as the LRT, is a metropolitan rail system serving the Metro Manila area in the Philippines. Although referred to as a light rail system because it originally used light rail vehicles, it has characteristics that make it more akin to a rapid transit (metro) system, such as high passenger throughput, exclusive right-of-way and later use of full metro rolling stock. The system is operated by the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA), a government-owned and controlled corporation under the authority of the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC). Along with the Manila Metro Rail Transit System (MRT-3, also called the new Yellow Line), and Philippine National Railways's commuter line, the system makes up Metro Manila's rail infrastructure.
Quick and inexpensive to ride, the system serves 2.1 million passengers each day. Its 33.4 kilometers (20.8 mi) of mostly elevated route form two lines which serve 31 stations in total. LRT Line 1 (LRT-1), also called the Green Line (formerly Yellow Line), opened in 1984 and travels a north–south route. LRT Line 2 (LRT-2), the Blue Line (formerly Purple Line), was completed in 2004 and runs east–west. The original LRT-1 was built as a no-frills means of public transport and lacks some features and comforts, but the new LRT-2 has been built with additional standards and criteria in mind like barrier-free access. Security guards at each station conduct inspections and provide assistance. A reusable plastic magnetic ticketing system has replaced the previous token-based system, and the Flash Pass introduced as a step towards a more integrated transportation system.

The Sheffield Supertram (officially the Stagecoach Supertram) is an English light rail tram system in the city of Sheffield, South Yorkshire. The infrastructure is owned by the South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive, with Stagecoach operating and maintaining the trams.
Following a parliamentary act in 1985 authorising the scheme, the Supertram line was built by the South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE) at a cost of £240 million, and opened in stages in 1994/95. It was operated by South Yorkshire Supertram Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary company of SYPTE. In December 1997, the company was sold to Stagecoach for £1.15 million. Stagecoach gained the concession to maintain and operate the Supertram trams until 2024. Patronage has grown from 7.8 million passenger journeys in 1996/97, to 15.0 million in 2011/12. In 2014/15 it carried 11.5 million passengers.
A tram-train extension to Rotherham is currently under construction and is scheduled to open in 2017, with a fleet of seven Vossloh Citylink Class 399 tram-trains in a UK first. This will involve trams operating on Network Rail's Dearne Valley Line from Meadowhall Interchange to Rotherham station with a short extension to Rotherham Parkgate Shopping Centre.
The Yellow Line of the Washington Metro consists of 17 rapid transit stations from Huntington or Franconia Springfield in Virginia to either Mount Vernon Square (where most peak hours trains terminate), Fort Totten (at all times, but with limited peak hours service) or Greenbelt (served only during peak hours). During rush hours, a small handful of trains run from Franconia Springfield to Greenbelt and the final two trains which depart from Huntington before afternoon peak service continue north to Greenbelt. Additional Yellow Line trains may continue passenger service to Greenbelt during off-peak hours and weekends in order to stage them for Green Line service or for storage at the Greenbelt rail yard. In non rush/peak hours, almost all regularly scheduled trains run to Fort Totten.
As a result of Metro's "Rush Plus" services, started on June 18, 2012, the Yellow Line now sees some peak hours trains ending at Greenbelt in Maryland and some trains originating from Franconia Springfield in Virginia. The additional result of Rush Plus is that the section of the Yellow Line between Shaw–Howard University and Fort Totten sees more off-peak hours service than peak hours service from the Yellow Line, however, all stations along that section are also served by the Green Line.
Manila Light Rail Transit System-Line 2, or simply LRT-2, is the second line of the Manila Light Rail Transit System. Rolling stock used in this line are indeed Hyundai Rotem EMUs, manufactured by Toshiba. In the early years of the 20th century, Manila had a novel form of transportation, they had steam-powered trams, or as it was previously called the Tranvia. It was a one-of-a-kind transportation system back in the early days. It was a success for the country in terms of usability and estimation. This became a reality because of the King of Spain, Alfonso XII, where one day in 1875, he decreed the planning for a railway in the Philippines. Courtesy of Light Rail Manila Corporation(LRMC). Dec. 22, 2018 LRT-2's Santolan Terminal is the station that links Manila to Marikina. And it is reliable. :) My experience riding this line was satisfying. One section when we rode from Santolan to Pureza reached 70 KPH. It was surprising as a second timer. Manila Light Rail Transit Line 2, is the second line of the Rapid Rail Transits in Metro Manila. Simply call it Line 2, or LRT-2. Line 1, known as LRT-1, spans Baclaran in Parañaque, all the way to Monumento in Caloocan, and extends to Roosevelt in Quezon City, being the northern terminus. Line 2, or LRT-2, spans Recto in Sta. Cruz, Manila (the western terminus of the line), all the way down east to Santolan in Calumpang, Marikina City! This line will be extended farther East to Emerald. Finally, Line 3. A line that spans the fa...
