SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA (Mar. 15, 2007)--A crewmember from the Coast Guard Cutter Polar Sea watches the city slip away as the cutter departed from Sydney Harbor.  This was the last time the crew saw land until reaching the Antarctic Continent a week later.  The Polar Sea was in Antarctica as part of Operation Deep Freeze 2007, clearing a navigable channel for supply ships to get needed goods and equipment to personnel working in McMurdo.
