Fresh Seafood at Noryangjin Fish Market in Seoul, South Korea
More travel and food - migrationology.com (click link) While I was in Seoul, South Korea, I decided to spend a day wandering through the Noryangjin Fish Market. Knowing little of what to expect before arriving, I was absolutely thrilled when as soon as I arrived and saw all the fresh seafood. Seafood after all is my absolute favorite thing in the world to eat! The seafood market is huge, and just about everything from the se that you can imagine is available including things you may have never seen either. Sea squirts in particular are widely available at the Noryanjin market. My favorite part about visiting the market in Seoul was going upstairs for lunch! There are a number of restaurants that will either cook fresh seafood that you have purchased, or they have an entire menu where you can order anything that looks good. I just showed up at one of the restaurants and decided to order a seabass fish hot pot. It was wonderful, a fiery hot pot of spicy soup boiled with vegetables and kimchi. Of course, it was also served alongside the ever present Korean side dishes and rice. If you ever visit Seoul, South Korea, I'd highly recommend taking time to visit the Noryangjin Fish Market - it was one of the coolest things I did while I was there! Thank you for watching! Kukaimaru seafood izakaya
Yes! Izakaya times!!! The owner of this resturaunt HAS a Yakitori bar a few doors down. I used to go there frequently and still do on occasion. Its called Torikukai. Now Mr. Suzuki has done it again with a seafood izakaya. All the variety and atmosphere of a local tavern but mainly focusing on a variety of seafood. Cooked with great care in many ways the fish comes directly from a fishing boat at Hiratsuka port. I took my time with this one so you can sit back and watch the pros work while I eat. Dinner for two with drinks 5900yen. I had full access to the place. Of course that's when the camera acted up but we did good regardless of a fickle white balance setting and auto focus issues. Korean spicy seafood noodle soup (jjampong)
A popular Korean soup with all kinds of ingredients mixed in. Full recipe is at www.maangchi.com Hot spicy jjamppong (1 serving) Ingredients Noodles for jjamppong, as well as... for stock: 10 dried anchovies, 3 shiitake mushrooms, a handful of dried kelp (1/3 cup), half a medium size onion meat and seafood: ¼ cup of pork, 3 large shrimp, 4 mussels, a few pieces of squid vegetables and seasoning: garlic, ginger, vegetable oil, oyster sauce, fish sauce, hot pepper flakes, ground black pepper, onion, carrot, green onions, leeks, white mushrooms, bamboo shoots. Let's start! First step: make stock 1. Pour 7 cups of water into a pot. Add 10 large dried anchovies (after removing heads and guts), a handful of dried kelp, half a medium sized onion, and 3 dried shiitake mushrooms. 2. Boil it for 10 minutes over high heat. Then lower the heat to low-medium and boil for 30 minutes more. Then set it aside Second step: make mixture of hot pepper flakes and vegetable oil 1. In a small bowl, mix 1½ tbs of hot pepper flakes and 1 tbs of vegetable oil. *tip: The reason we make this mixture is to prevent the hot pepper flakes from floating in the soup when it boils. You can add or decrease the amount of hot pepper flakes and vegetable oil according to your taste Third step: prepare seafood and meat 1. Cut squid in half lengthwise, then lightly cut the inside of the squid into a grid pattern. 2. Shell 3 large shrimp and 4 mussels per serving. 3. Cut ¼ cup of pork into thin strips. Fourth ...

SEAFOOD STEW RECIPE for winners*
Seafood stew --simple and delicious. Thanks for watching, and for more recipes check out the playlist: www.youtube.com * recipe also appropriate for non-winners ingredients: 1 lb MIXED SEAFOOD 1 HOT PEPPER (finely chopped) 3-4 cloves GARLIC (finely chopped) 1 medium ONION (chopped) ½ cup CELERY (sliced) 2 Tbsp TOMATO PASTE 1 13 oz can DICED TOMATOES 1 cup CHICKEN STOCK 2 cups WATER (substitute 1 cup CLAM JUICE if desired) 1 cup WHITE WINE 2 Tbsp LEMON JUICE 1 BAY LEAF 1 Tbsp OREGANO 1 tsp THYME 1 tsp BASIL SALT/PEPPER to taste 1 Tbsp OLIVE OIL directions: Heat olive oil on medium heat and add onion and celery and hot pepper. Give these ingredients a minute head start and then add the garlic and salt. Cook until the onion begins to soften and then add the tomato paste. Push the paste around with the vegetables—spread it around the bottom of the pan and let it cook up a minute or two—if the paste sticks a little, that's cool—because now we'll add white wine which will deglaze any stuck on paste. Stir. Add a bay leaf, oregano, thyme, basil—throw some red pepper flakes in as well if you like it hot. Let the mix simmer for about 5 minutes. Add diced tomatoes, 1 cup of broth (I use chicken broth, but any broth will do), and 2 cups of water—you can substitute 1 cup of clam juice for 1 of the cups of water, if desired. Bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer, cover, and allow to cook 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, add 1 lb. of miscellaneous seafood—a variety of big-bite pieces ...

Seafood spaghetti - recipe
The seafood spaghetti can be found on almost every Italian restaurant menu, in a number of variants: Sonia's version is made with mussels, clams, squids and scampi! Find this and many more recipes with pictures on the Giallozafferano App (in English) itunes.apple.com *** The recipe we'll be preparing today is a very famous first course: the seafood spaghetti. There are a number of variants of this dish, according to different places and seasons... but the absolute essentials are mussels and clams, to which you can add for example scampi, squids, shrimps and baby cuttlefish. But let's see together what ingredients we'll need: • 11,3 oz (320 g) of spaghetti • 10,5 oz (300 g) of squids • pepper / salt • 4 cloves of garlic • 1 lb (500 g) of clams • 1 lb (500 g) of mussels / 4 scampi • 10,5 oz (300 g) of cherry tomatoes • fish stock • ½ glass of dry white wine • extra virgin olive oil • parsley Let's prepare together the seafood spaghetti: The first thing to do to prepare the seafood spaghetti is clean the squids: if you want to see how, click here. Now separate the bodies from the tentacles and cut the bodies into rings. In a pan, put 2-3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and a crushed, or chopped, clove of garlic. Now add the squids. Cook for a few minutes until the squids turn white, then add the white wine, let it evaporate, then add the chopped parsley, after that turn off the heat and set aside, keeping warm. Now move on to the mussels and clams: clean and wash them ...

BEST SEAFOOD PANCAKE recipe
Seafood pancake --a pancake for dinner is a good idea as long as it's a cool pancake. For more Chef Buck video recipes click here www.youtube.com SEAFOOD PANCAKE ingredients: 6 oz SEAFOOD (shrimp, scallops, squid, etc.) 5-6 GREEN ONIONS (cut into 1" lengths) 1 tsp HOT PEPPER (finely chopped) ½ cup ALL PURPOSE FLOUR ½ cup cold WATER 1 EGG (beaten) 2-3 Tbsp cooking OIL sauce: 2 Tbsp SOY SAUCE 1 Tbsp RICE VINEGAR 1 tsp SESAME SEEDS --optional1 tsp HOT SAUCE (chili garlic, pepper sauce, etc.) directions: Mix sauce ingredients in a small dish and set aside. Cut GREEN ONIONS in half and then lengthwise, then cut into 1" pieces. Finely chop 1 tsp of HOT RED PEPPER—a hot green pepper will do—but a red pepper makes the dish look yummier (also, add a little red bell pepper for color, if desired.) Chop SEAFOOD (seafood is ideal for this dish because it cooks quickly—use shrimp, squid, scallops, clams, etc.) In a bowl, mix ½ cup ALL PURPOSE FLOUR with ½ cup COLD WATER. Mix well until a thin batter is formed (add a drop more water if needed—the batter should be thin enough to coat the veggies and seafood thoroughly and spread evenly when poured into the skillet) Add onions, peppers, and seafood to the batter and mix well. Heat a skillet on MEDIUM HIGH heat and add OIL. When oil is heated, add batter and spread evenly. Cook for 4-6 minutes until the edges of the cake begin to brown—but before the edges brown, add 1 well-beaten egg to the top of the cake (tip: shake the skillet to ...

Sustainable seafood and integrated fish farming in China
The story is about 'Integrated Fish Farming', using traditional methods that have been adapted to modern circumstances, and opportunities to apply these as a low ecological footprint fish farming model. It shows two families: The Ma family farms fish and works with other families that farm silkworms, while the Wang family farms both fish and silkworms themselves and then sells the raw silk for production of finished silk products in the village. Both families live and work in a village in China where the fish/silkworm cycle is the typical fish-farming practice, and where fish and silk are the major cash products. The cycle works like this: silkworms are fed on leaves of the mulberry tree which grows around fish ponds. The waste from Mulberry and silk worms provides some feed for the fish and the Fish waste fertilises the dykes and the mulberry - creating an integrated farm ecosystem with a low ecological footprint. This type of system is widely used in China, and the sum total of carp production on farms like this is more than 10 million tons per year, which is more than the total amount of fish produced by any other nation.
