Badrinath has been a prolific scorer in first class cricket. In 2008, Badrinath signed for the Indian Premier League side Chennai Super Kings. He studied in Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan school located in K. K. Nagar, Chennai. He is considered as one of the prime candidates in line for a spot in the middle order of the Indian test team, competing against the likes of Rohit Sharma, Manoj Tiwary,Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli. He made his Test debut on 6 February 2010, scoring 56 in the first innings at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur.
He has won the selectors attention during 2011 IPL season, playing an important role in team's success and becoming known as "Mr Dependable" for Chennai Super Kings. Due to that, and his performance in the domestic season, he received a spot in the Indian squad for their tour of West Indies.

In 2005, his third film Bunny was released. His fourth film Happy, which was released in 2006 and directed by Karunakaran, had an average opening at Box Office but later became a failure. The film did, however, manage to make a decent profit in the U.S.
In May 2008, his sixth film Parugu, directed by Bhaskar, was released. All of Arjun's movies have been translated and dubbed into Malayalam. Desamudrudu was renamed Hero, Parugu was renamed Krishna and Gangotri was renamed Simhakutty.
In 2009, Arjun had one release, Arya 2. The film was directed by Sukumar who directed the first film.
In 2010, Arjun appeared in Varudu directed by Gunasekhar which was released in 2010. He next acted in Vedam, directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi.
In 2011 , Arjun appeared in Badhrinaadh directed by V V Vinayak. The movie was produced by his father in his home banner Geetha Arts with budget of 40 crores. Movie was released in june 10 and was released in more than 1500 theaters world wide.
