Fearless Feliz completes record jump
out of a ballon 24 miles above roswell ..... he got going so fast.... he succeeded in breaking the sound barrier. erica zucco is live from roswell... where baumgartner talked about his death defying feat tonight. erica? in a news conference this afternoon, baumgartner played things cool and humble, saying he owed his successes to the red bull stratos team, and that going up so high made him realize how small he really was. but the numbers don't lie -- this mission was one that'll go down in history. "let me tell you when I was standing there on top of the world you become so humble you do not think about breaking records anynmore, you do not think about gaining scientific data, the only thing you want is you want to come back alive." that feeling came while felix fell at 833.9 miles per hour ... or mach 1.24, in science speak. and it followed some nervewracking moments -- baumgartner's visor fogging up and a period where he began tumbling in air. "I was always trying to find out how to stop this, you know I was putting one arm out and it didn't work so I was putting another arm out but you're always late because at that speed when you're traveling at that speed with a suit thats pressurized you don't feel the air at all so its hard to predict what you have to do." the federation aeronautique internationale still has to verify the numbers- but when they do, baumgartner will hold the title of "first man to break the speed of sound in freefall". and that's not all -- at ...

Search intensifies for missing balloonists
tonight in the search for balloonists richard abruzzo and carol rymer davis. this video is likely the last time the two were seen -- as they took flight in britain over the weekend for the gordon bennett gas balloon race. abruzzo and davis's flight appeared to be going smoothly until today -- when storms met them near the italian coast. and in the past hour governor richardson announced he's asked the state department to use us military assets in italy and albania to assist with the search. right now the lled a minute thumbnail 06:00 pm lot of information from our archives on a past crash they had -- and we're hearing from people who've flown with them. but our team coverage begins with a look at where the balloon was last tracked -- and just how dangerous gas balloon races can be. here's jeremy jojola. we found their course tracked by satellite on a website---- it shows how the storm tossed them around over the adriatic sea back and forth--- looking in our own archives...we found abruzzo himself talking about gas ballooning dangers like this. friends and family describe---richard abruzzo and his flying partner doctor carol davis as fearless and full of adventure---- tonight the two are perhaps fighting for their lives somewhere in the sea east of italy where contact was cut- off. they traveled one-thousand miles over europe until hitting a storm. we found this interview with abruzzo two years minute thumbnail 06:01 pm ago describing the dangers of gas ballooning and bad ...

College students turn to donating eggs for money, to help
one profession is targeting female college students to help couples get pregnant. college women can make thousands of dollars selling their eggs.. but our sharon erickson looked into whether the money is worth the risk. ivan avila and barbara rodriguez have been together for 20 years. unable to conceive naturally ... they're turning to the "new mexico center for reproductive medicine". "we was running out of time, so we do it now or never." but asking for help is only half the battle for many couples. many need an egg donor... and becoming one is no easy task. so, fertility clinics across the country are reaching out to healthy college students. "i read an advertisement about it in the daily lobo, the newspaper for unm." "that is part of our advertising is to college students because they are a great age and in general healthy and fertile and have time to help in this process." and many are answering the call... with some financial encouragement. people like "nicole"... are donating their eggs here at the fertility center. but it's not all about the money. "they're volunteering to do this, they're doing it cause they want to do it, and they're usually just wonderfully nice people that want to help somebody." "i don't want children, so why not help somebody if you can?" and there are plenty of families in need. "approximately 10-15 percent of the population will have trouble with infertility." "nicole" filled out an extensive family history, got screened for genetic ...

"that's shocking to me that they were right next door, it's shocking." a chinese massage parlor now sits in the place where rio bravo medical supply was. new mexico us attorney kenneth gonzales says rio bravo was actually a dummy corporation -- where seven eastern- europeans were using the stolen id's of doctors and medicare beneficiaries to file medicare claims. ault says she and her husband knew the group looked suspicious. "we just thought it was an odd case, they never had any customers, they sat outside of their van smoking cigarettes all day long" "i also found a lot of stuff in the dumpster that they just pitched, wheelchairs, walkers, all kinds of stuff that looked very useable that they just threw away" according to gonzales -- the group filed more than two-point- one ...
