Tamar Queen Of Georgia
"Tamario" that song GEORGIAN(Svans) meet Holy Queen Tamar ..............Tamar (Georgian: თამარი, also transliterated as T'amar, Thamar or Tamari. (c. 1160 18 January 1213), of the Bagrationi dynasty, was Queen Regnant of Georgia from 1184 to 1213. The first woman to rule Georgia in her own right, Tamar presided over the "Golden age" of the medieval Georgian monarchy. Tamar was proclaimed heir apparent and co-ruler by her reigning father George III in 1178, but she faced significant opposition from the aristocracy upon her ascension to full ruling powers after George's death. Nevertheless, Tamar was successful in neutralizing this opposition and embarked on an energetic foreign policy aided by the downfall of the rival powers of the Seljuqids and Byzantium. Supported by a powerful military élite, Tamar was able to build on the successes of her predecessors to consolidate an empire which dominated the Caucasus until its collapse under the Mongol attacks within two decades after Tamar's death. Tamar's association with this period of political and cultural revival, combined with her role as a female ruler, has led to her idealization and Romantization. She remains an important symbol in Georgian popular culture and has also been canonized by the Georgian Orthodox Church.

Georgia Abkhazia province Besleti Bridge music The Canto of Injury
for more georgian monuments in Abkhazia see this site: httpdefencegeorgia.blogspot.com The Besleti Bridge also known as the Queen Tamar Bridge is a medieval arched stone bridge at Sukhumi(Abkhazia region) Located some 6 km from the city centre, the bridge spans the small mountain River Besletka, and dates back to the late 12th century. Thirty-five meters in overall length (the arch itself is 13.3 m) and eight meters high, this single-arch bridge is one of the most illustrative examples of the medieval bridge design popular during the reign of Tamar of Georgia (r. 1184-1213) who is traditionally credited to have commissioned the construction of the Beslet bridge. engraved cross and the Greek Τ have survived in the lower part of the left pillar of the bridge. A stone stele with Georgian inscriptions stood at the head of the bridge, but was lost during the War in Abkhazia early in the 1990s. In the vicinity of the bridge are the ruins of medieval combat towers, a testimony to strategic importance of the locale. The Besleti Bridge .A contemporary inscription in the early Georgian Asomtavruli alphabet reads: "Christ the Lord, glorify in every possible way in both lives."

"GEORGIAN LEGEND" Zeimi + Samaia - ზეიმი + სამაია
Samaia (სამაია) The dance Samaia is performed by three women and originally, was considered to be a dance of Pagan times. However, todays Samaia is a representation of King Tamar and her glory. King Tamar in many sources is mentioned as a Queen of Georgia. However, she was considered to be the king of the United Kingdom of Georgia in 12th-13th centuries and was the first woman king in Georgias history. There are only four frescos that keep the much-revered image of King Tamar. Simon Virsaladze based the costumes of Samaia on the Kings clothing on those frescos. In addition, the trinity idea in the dance represents King Tamar as a young princess, a wise mother and the powerful king. All these three images are united in one harmonious picture. Moreover, the simple but soft and graceful movements create an atmosphere of beauty, glory and power that surrounded the Kings reign.

First Bhutanese Interstate Soccer Tournament, June 2011 (Day One)
"Empowerment Through Sports" was the theme of the first Bhutanese Interstate Soccer Tournament in the USA. Organized by a small independent group of sports lovers and volunteers, the event featured twenty teams, with more than 350 players meeting at Granite Field in Tucker, Georgia, on Friday and Saturday, June 17 and 18, from 6am to 8pm both days.
For the ethnic-Nepalis in Bhutan and Nepal, and now in the USA, soccer has been more than a sport in helping to define communities and strengthen the social fabric — bringing together players, youth, and sports enthusiasts. The Tournament organizing team acknowledges the contributions of soccer players and team managers in the seven Bhutanese refugee camps in Nepal, and hopes that in this event, the same spirit and love of the game as in the camps is injected and that a precedent for future events is created.

First Bhutanese Interstate Soccer Tournament, June 2011 (Day Two)
The First Bhutanese Interstate Soccer Tournament in the USA featured twenty teams that drove or flew from coast-to-coast, north and south to join more than 350 players in Atlanta, Georgia. The two-day event on Friday and Saturday, June 17 and 18, showcased brilliant athletes, organizers, coaches, and managers in a celebration of teamwork, community, fair play, tireless dedication, and hard work over decades of nearly insurmountable obstacles.
The event was a reunion of family and friends, many of whom played soccer together as children in seven Bhutanese refugee camps in Nepal, following expulsion from their homeland, Bhutan. For nearly two decades in the camps, their 100,000-person ethnic-Nepali community relied on the same teamwork and life-affirming beliefs and practices witnessed this weekend.

King Tamar's Castle in Geguti, Imereti, Georgia
These are the ruined remains of King Tamar's Castle in Geguti, Imereti, Georgia. In May, this is the site of the Village Festival, and the building dates back over 1000 years! Just a note, Tamar was a ruler of Georgia. SHE was named King, not queen, so that no one would confuse the fact that she was the 100% rightful ruler of the country.
