Cleveland Clinic and IBM Work to Advance Watson's Use in the Medical Training Field
IBM researchers collaborate with Cleveland Clinic clinicians and faculty to advance Watson's medical knowledge. With an emphasis on critical thinking and problem solving, a collaborative learning application built on Watson technology will be available to medical students to help them quickly navigate all the latest content (journals, articles, reference materials) and to improve their critical reasoning for better diagnoses and treatment options. The students will also have the opportunity to teach Watson, to train it, to tell it where its evidence is not the best or where it might have made a mistake, so the system gets smarter over time. www.research.ibm.com

Qualcomm Leverages IBM Business Analytics to Drive Value and Innovation
Qualcomm found that the rapid growth and highly competitive nature of its business made it imperative to synchronize all its divisions and associated functions. It was therefore paramount to create a business analytics platform that would support planning, forecasting, analysis and reporting seamlessly across the enterprise, and would allow business users to take control -- a highly self-service oriented model that was a departure from the past. Now hosted in Australia! IBM's cloud managed service, SmartCloud Enterprise+
For more information about SmartCloud Enterprise+ in Australia, visit: ibm.com For SmartCloud Enterprise+ in North America, visit: www.ibm.com IBM recently launched its enterprise-class managed cloud service, IBM SmartCloud Enterprise+ (SCE+) in Australia. The service, now located in Sydney, will help address customer concerns around spending additional amounts of money on their IT environment. SCE+ is based on a shared cloud model that delivers a secure infrastructure based on hardware, software and services. It combines most of what a customer requires in terms of IT skills and infrastructure into a single package that IBM offers as a cloud service. This means that a customer doesn't have to invest in their own skills and infrastructure to support their computing needs.

IBM Research Announces New Advances in Quantum Computing
Quantum computing has been a Holy Grail for researchers ever since Nobel Prize-winning physicist Richard Feynman, in 1981, challenged the scientific community to build computers based on quantum mechanics. For decades, the pursuit remained firmly in the theoretical realm. But now IBM scientists believe they're on the cusp of building systems that will take computing to a whole new level.

The Internet of Things
asmarterplanet.com Video featuring, from IBM Mike Wing, Andy Stanford-Clark and John Tolva. Over the past century but accelerating over the past couple of decades, we have seen the emergence of a kind of global data field. The planet itself - natural systems, human systems, physical objects - have always generated an enormous amount of data, but we didnt used to be able to hear it, to see it, to capture it. Now we can because all of this stuff is now instrumented. And its all interconnected, so now we can actually have access to it. So, in effect, the planet has grown a central nervous system. Look at that complex set of relationships among all of these complex systems. If we can actually begin to see the patterns in the data, then we have a much better chance of getting our arms around this. Thats where societies become more efficient, thats where more innovation is sparked. When we talk about a smarter planet, you can say that it has two dimensions. One is to be more efficient, be less destructive, to connect different aspects of life which do affect each other in more conscience and deliberate and intelligent ways. But the other is also to generate fundamentally new insights, new activity, new forms of social relations. So you could look at the planet as an information, creation and transmission system, and the universe was hearing its information but we werent. But increasingly now we can, early days, baby steps days, but we can actually begin to hear the planet ...

The Fastest Supercomputer in Europe - Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ) powered by IBM System x
Story of the fastest supercomputer in Europe - Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ) powered by IBM System x iDataPlex The solution: The solution is an IBM Intelligent ClusterTM with IBM System x® iDataPlex® Direct Water Cooled dx360 M4 servers featuring the Intel® Xeon® processor E5 2600 family. The benefits: The IBM solution saves $1.2 million annually in energy costs and delivers 50 times more computing power than the previous solution, while only using three times more electricity. From Wall Street Journal Blog: blogs.wsj.com The fastest supercomputer in Europe is the SuperMUC, an IBM iDataplex system installed at the Leibniz-Rechenzentrum in Germany. According to the list announced today at the International Supercomputing Conference in Hamburg, Germany, the system is the fourth fastest in the world. The figures are outlined in a release from IBM: "The new LRZ "SuperMUC" system was built with IBM System x iDataPlex Direct Water Cooled dx360 M4 servers with more than 150000 cores to provide a peak performance of up to three petaflops, which is equivalent to the work of more than 110000 personal computers.

Predictive Programming and the Human Microchipping Agenda
Predictive Programming and the Human Microchipping Agenda confirms the reality of the microchip agenda, and shows that the weapon of propaganda has been used against the public for decades in order to familiarize us with the idea of being chipped. This process is called predictive programming and its purpose is literally to program the mind of the victim so as to accept without question whatever is required by the programmer - in this case, the idea of being microchipped at some point in the future. The victim is generally unaware of being programmed, believing that it's all just harmless entertainment. For this reason it can be a powerful and effective weapon against us.
By explaining this process and giving example after example, Predictive Programming and the Human Microchipping Agenda is an attempt to alert the viewer to some of the ways in which we have been manipulated throughout our lives for the specific purpose of slowly but surely shepherding us all into a Hellish world of microchip implants and totalitarian control. We hope that by exposing the programming we can break the program and derail this diabolical agenda. To be successful we need your help.

1960s IBM Clock
Schoolhouse Electric & Supply Co. partnered with IBM to exclusively produce their iconic 1960s standard issue wall clock. The clock is a faithful reproduction of the classic IBM clocks found in offices, warehouses and schools during the mid-20th century. Hand assembled in Schoolhouse Electric’s Portland, Oregon Factory, it is constructed with a USA made spun steel case, domed glass lens, and the original graphic hands and faceplate design. Operated by a Quartz movement with a red, continuous sweep second hand.
