This is a combined LES and DEM simulation of turbulence and sediment transport downstream of a backward-facing step following the experimental conditions of Nelson et al (WRR, 1995) . Velocity and pressure through the center of the flow are shown in the top and bottom panels. Fluid velocity, individual particle velocity, and pressure at the bed are shown in the middle panels.
