The value of reading Vedic Literature in Sanskrit - Maharishi Mahesh Yogi
www.tm.org The value of reading Vedic Literature in Sanskrit - Maharishi Mahesh Yogi 1. Dr. Hagelin There's one more question on the subject of Maharishi's Vedic educational approach from a student at Maharishi University of Management, David Pohlman. He asks: Maharishi, what is the special value of reading Vedic literature in Sanskrit for students in your Consciousness-Based system of education? English translations, however imperfect, being comprehensible, engage the intellect and heart and seem to offer educational and inspirational value. So I guess the question is: What is the value of reading Vedic literature in Sanskrit? 2. Every Sanskrit word is lively on all levels-surface level, deeper level, deepest level, and transcendental level. Every Vedic word is the expression of totality. This totality is available in one word "A". 3. Vedic is the language where "A" is inevitably pronounced while pronouncing any word. Specialty of Vedic word, is, it's a flow of totality, it's a flow of infinity. 4. Veda cannot be translated. There can be experience-our own consciousness can completely identify with the transcendental field. The Vedic sound is the expression of holistic value of knowledge. 5. "A" is there whenever we say any vowel or consonant: Every Vedic sound has some of "A" in it. 6. Speaking Sanskrit, and the recitation of the Vedic words means we are stirring up, in our own awareness, some feature, some quality, of totality. 7. Vedic texts cannot be translated ...

DESI HONEY MOON - FIRST NIGHT OF INDIAN COUPLE
The Kama Sutra (Sanskrit: कामसूत्र pronounciation (help·info), Kāmasūtra) is an ancient Indian Hindu[1][2] text widely considered to be the standard work on human sexual behavior in Sanskrit literature written by Vātsyāyana. A portion of the work consists of practical advice on sexual intercourse.[3] It is largely in prose, with many inserted anustubh poetry verses. "Kāma" which is one of the three goals of Hindu life, means sensual or sexual pleasure, and "sūtra" literally means a thread or line that holds things together, and more metaphorically refers to an aphorism (or line, rule, formula), or a collection of such aphorisms in the form of a manual. Contrary to popular perception, especially in the western world, Kama sutra is not an exclusive sex manual; it presents itself as a guide to a virtuous and gracious living that discusses the nature of love, family life and other aspects pertaining to pleasure oriented faculties of human life.[4][5] The Kama Sutra is the oldest and most notable of a group of texts known generically as Kama Shastra (Sanskrit: Kāma Śāstra).[6] Traditionally, the first transmission of Kama Shastra or "Discipline of Kama" is attributed to Nandi the sacred bull, Shiva's doorkeeper, who was moved to sacred utterance by overhearing the lovemaking of the god and his wife Parvati and later recorded his utterances for the benefit of mankind.

Secret Knowledge of Ancient vedas in Hindusim
The Vedas (Sanskrit वेद véda, "knowledge") are a large body of texts originating in Ancient India. Composed in Vedic Sanskrit, the texts constitute the oldest layer of Sanskrit literature and the oldest scriptures of Hinduism The class of "Vedic texts" is aggregated around the four canonical Saṃhitās or Vedas proper (turīya), of which three (traya) are related to the performance of yajna (sacrifice) in historical (Iron Age) Vedic religion: the Rigveda, containing hymns to be recited by the hotṛ or chief priest; the Yajurveda, containing formulas to be recited by the adhvaryu or officiating priest; the Samaveda, containing formulas to be chanted by the udgātṛ. The fourth is the Atharvaveda, a collection of spells and incantations, stories, predictions, apotropaic charms and some speculative hymns The various Indian philosophies and sects have taken differing positions on the Vedas. Schools of Indian philosophy which cite the Vedas as their scriptural authority are classified as "orthodox" (āstika). Other traditions, notably Buddhism and Jainism, which did not regard the Vedas as authorities are referred to by traditional Hindu texts as "heterodox" or "non-orthodox" (nāstika) schools.

Non Sanskrit term Hindutva
Can a non Sanskrit term become a Sanskrit term by adding a Sanskrit term? NEVER! Sanskrit is a refined language and just because Joe wants to add Tattva to his name cannot make Joe's name a Sanskrit one. Same goes to names like "Hindutva"! India is already ruled by Muslims and soon they will be claiming their roots to the Sanskrit literature. They will form groups like "Urdutva"! Preserve our culture lead by example NOT by terrorism or violence.

mudrarakshasa promo - sanskrit film
Mudrarakshasa is an experimental film produced by Mokshagundam Media Pvt. ltd., Bangalore, it is a 21st century adaptation based on one of the most popular political play in Sanskrit literature penned by Vishakadatta. Directed by Dr. Mnaish K Mokshagundam Mudrarakshasa is the story of political turmoil, where a nation-state is witnessing a sudden change in the leadership. The story revolves around the greatest political gurus of all times CHANAKYA, who with a coup puts his young protégé on throne of Patiliputra. The film presents the odyllic charisma of one man, obsessed with the goals and governance of the State. The all powerful Prime Minister Chanakya employs every political scheme possible to bring around the incensed Amatya Rakshasa to accept the position and responsibilities of Prime Ministership of his young protégé Chandragupta Mourya and lead him to future glory though Dharmic Governance Mudrarakshasa is presented to convey the contemporary relevance of this political philosophy embedded in Visakadattas drama. It is a humble effort at introspection by the modern youth in an attempt to churn out the ambrosia of good governance and reliving the ancient system of State over Self. The film imparts a strong message of sacrifice, where Chanakya becomes completely selfless and gives up everything including his Prime Ministership to Amatya Rakshasa to facilitate the state and its people to be benefited by the guidance of the right leader

Ramayanam Aranyakanda - Sarga - 24 - SANSKRIT
The Ramayana is an unfathomable epic of eternal character. The life and culture of our country revolve round this at epic. The Ramayana is the first work of poetry outside the Vedic literature. To the scholars it is poetry unparalleled, for the artists it is a drama unsurpassed with a variety of emotions to the refined it is a work of righteousness (Dharma), for seekers it is the royal path to liberation and in a nutshell it is history, geography, ethnology, astronomy, music and the art of warfare.
"Rama, the ancient idol of the heroic ages, the embodiment of truth, of morality, the ideal son, the ideal husband, the ideal father, and above all, the ideal king, this Rama has been presented before us by the great sage Valmiki. No language can be purer, none chaster, none more beautiful, and at the same time simpler, than the language in which the great poet has depicted the life of Rama - SANSKRIT".
My humble attempt is to present the complete Ramayanam - 7 kandas and 24,000 slokas in SANSKRIT , the listening of which purifies the mind resulting peace and bliss.

Erotic Indian Poetry translated from Sanskrit by Amarushataka
Amarushataka, Sanskrit literature from the 7th or 8th century. This is lyrical poetry. These poems explore the ins and outs of erotic love. Amaru is sensual, passionate and he details moments of joy as well as sorrow. He investigates courtship and dating as well as longing and grief from loss of love. This work was most likely influenced by the Kama Sutra as well as Indian lore and yoga.

Dean brown - All languages came from sanskrit *thinking allowed interview
http://www.thinkingallowed.com/
Dean was a sanskrit scholar. A few years ago the Philosophical Research Society published his translation of the Upanishads and Yoga Sutras. More than that, he was conversant with many all of the world's great spiritual texts. And, he studied them in their original languages. At one time he counted 25 languages with which he was familiar. He passion was to find the "invariants" within all of this literature - the metaphysical underpinnings of world spirituality.
But, it would be a mistake to simply classify Dean as a student of metaphysics and religious traditions. He was a physicist of the highest order - making contributions to the development of the hydrogen bomb and designing the fuel element for the Nautilus, the world's first nuclear submarines. In his youth, he worked at the Institute of Advanced Studies in Princeton - and was a friend and colleague of Albert Einstein.
Dean was also a computer scientist. He is actually the first person, back in the 1950s, to suggest that computers would have applications in the field of education. He worked with the United Nations for several years introducing this technology to various countries around the world. One project involved installing computers throughout the educational system of Spain. At this time he wrote a fascinating little book on the essentials of learning.
Dean was a founder of Zylog, Inc., a company that manufactured one of the first microprocessors, the Z80 chip - which is still in use today. Dean was instrumental in designing that chip. Another company that he founded, Picodyne, is still active today in the field of educational software.
Dean had many other interests. He believed that one could find God in the details

Bharat Ek Khoj Episode 17 part 03
Nehru refers to Kalidasa, acknowledged as the greatest poet and playwright of Sanskrit literature, who probably lived in the 4th century at Ujjain. There was a contemporary playwright Shudrak, known for his tender play Mrichchakatikam (The Clay Cart). Interestingly, Nehru noted that the language of the old plays of Kalidasa and others is mixed. In the same play, educated people speak Sanskrit and ordinary, uneducated folk, usually women, in Prakrit, the language of the masses.
