Canada exports deadly asbestos to poor countries even though it is illegal in Canada!
50 years ago, you could have easily found asbestos in any home or building in Canada. Thanks to its tensile strength and fire resistance, it was commonly used in roofing shingles, fire blankets, and insulation. But when its health risks became apparent, the country began phasing it out and removing it from buildings. Asbestos has been linked to forms of lung cancer and other respiratory diseases but this toxic material is still creating controversy in Canada. That's because the country is a major exporter of asbestos. The use of asbestos is severely limited, domestically even though exports stand at around 150000 tonnes per year. It goes to countries like India, Indonesia and the Phillipines. Anthony Pizzino, the national director of research and occupational health for CUPE had this to say. While the government insists there are ways to safely handle asbestos in a controlled environment, Pizzino maintains that when it comes to carcinogens or cancer causing materials, there is no such thing as safe levels of exposure. The World Health Organizaiton estimates that about 125 million people worldwide are exposed to asbestos in the workplace and more than 107 000 people die each year from asbestos-related lung cancer. But Canada has vetoed attempts to include Chrysotile asbestos in the Rotterdam Convention, a UN-sponsored list of controlled substances that alerts importers of the associated risks. The USA on the other hand simply prints "foreign reserves" out of thin air to buy imports. Lay Your Hands On Me - The Thompson Twins Thompson Twins are Tom Bailey, Allanah Currie and Joe Leeway. They were for quite a while one of my favourite exports from the UK when I was growing up in the 80's. Great memories from a great era. Captured from a VHS video of old Thompson Twins hits called 'Single Vision'. Video and audio has been carefully processed with a variety of filters to provide the maximum quality possible. This video has been upscaled to 720p HD resolution. Due to the poor quality of Thompson Twins videos available on youtube and also because some are being 'blocked' by the disgusting Sony Corporation who like a tyrant decides what you can and cannot watch, I've decided to upload my own captures. It was fun to do and I hope you enjoy them (all those allowed to view it of course). I've noticed that youtube under directions from Sony, has blocked this video from being viewed in a huge list of countries. The amount of people being restricted from watching is truly deplorable and disgusts me to the core. Tyranny in action. The tyrant decides what the slaves can and cannot watch. Corporations like this deserve a massive slap in the face.

However, the names of the countries were not given. Four of the countries on America's anger list are among top 100 buyers of Iranian crude. They are China, India, South Korea and South Africa, with the first two being the two largest buyers. Also targeted by possible financial sanctions are Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Turkey. US President Barack Obama may order banks based in those countries and involved in oil trade with Iran to be cut off America's financial system. This was filmed between 4th and 11th April 2011. I had the pleasure of visiting El Teide.
Spain´s highest mountain @(3718m) is one of the best places in the world to photograph the stars and is also the location of Teide Observatories, considered to be one of the world´s best observatories.
The goal was to capture the beautiful Milky Way galaxy along with one of the most amazing mountains I know El Teide. I have to say this was one of the most exhausting trips I have done. There was a lot of hiking at high altitudes and probably less than 10 hours of sleep in total for the whole week. Having been here 10-11 times before I had a long list of must-see locations I wanted to capture for this movie, but I am still not 100% used to carrying around so much gear required for time-lapse movies.
A large sandstorm hit the Sahara Desert on the 9th April (http://bit.ly/g3tsDW) and at approx 3am in the night the sandstorm hit me, making it nearly impossible to see the sky with my own eyes.
Interestingly enough my camera was set for a 5 hour sequence of the milky way during this time and I was sure my whole scene was ruined. To my surprise, my camera had managed to capture the sandstorm which was backlit by Grand Canary Island making it look like golden clouds. The Milky Way was shining through the clouds, making the stars sparkle in an interesting way. So if you ever wondered how the Milky Way would look through a Sahara sandstorm, look at 00:32.

Tanzania had threatened to ban Kenyan exports for not using the diamond mark of quality but the matter has now been resolved following a meeting between the two countries.
