Africa Under Construction: Be Inspired
Please read the description before ignorantly commenting. Put a BIG smile on your face. The Motherland is seeing a bright future ahead and you should too :) I know everywhere you look concerning Africa is always linked with depressing, discouraging and negative images that do not uplift nor encourage one to invest in the future of the Motherland. All you see about Africa is starving children with flies around them desperate for help. Yes, there are children starving in Africa but you cannot inspire people to achieve their full potential or change their conditions by presenting them with negative images. You have to inspire them by showing them positive images and what they are capable of accomplishing. This is a positive video made to uplift the brothers and sisters to rise above and succeed! Africa has been through so much and now is finally puting the past behind and moving on forward! With hardships comes RELIEF and Africa is finally relieved after so long! Oh! Nothing is like seeing home sweet home happy! I have put much effort in creating this project for the soul purpose of inspiring all African youths to have passion for the Motherland and be inspired to take part in its future. It would benefit all if all African students who study abroad return to Africa and invest in its future rather than going abroad and deciding to stay in that country. Please unite and create a bright future for all. You are the leaders of Africa tomorrow. Stand up, put the past behind and ...

North Africa: The Blue Revolution
The mass strike phenomenon, which ousted the longtime leaders of Tunisia and Egypt, and which is now taking over Europe and the United States, has opened up the possibilities of a rapid improvement in the standard of living for people in the whole region. What the people of North Africa revolted against was the long-standing murderous policies of the new imperialism, "globalization," often dictated by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). One of the top priorities will be to make the deserts bloom! Through projects such as the filling of the Tunisian "chotts" and the Qattara Depression in Egypt, and a new north-south development corridor parallel to the Nile River Valley, North Africa have great possibilities of conquering the Sahara and greening huge land areas, thus opening them up for human settlements and agriculture, increasing food production, and eliminating hunger and poverty. Together with the Transaqua project for refilling Lake Chad, the Gezira agricultural scheme in Sudan, and other water projects, the "Blue Revolution" of North Africa will be one of the cornerstones for securing a bright future.

My AfriKan Dream - Vicky Sampson.
Vicky Sampson singing Mr AfriKan Dream from her album "ZAI" Another of my all time favourite South African singers. I will supply the lyrics some time tomorrow and I will be uploading some more of my favourite South African songs. I hope you enjoy them ALL. :-) Here are the Lyrics for this song:- AfriKan Dream. Sometimes alone in the evening I look outside my window At the shadows in the night I hear the sound of distant crying The darkness multiplying And weary hearts denied All I feel is my heart beating Beating like a drum, beating with confusion All I hear are the voices, telling me to go But I could never run, "Cause In my AfriKan Dream, there's a new tomorrow My Afrikan dream , is dream that we can follow Now when the night begins to fall, I listen for your call, I listen for you heartbeat Alone my dream is just a dream Another false illusion, a shadow in the night All I want is for our heartbeats to be beating just as one, To silence the confusion Then the pain and the illusion will disappear again And we will never run, Cause In my Afrikan Dream, there's a new tomorrow My Afrikan Dream is a dream that we can follow And though it would seem my hope's an illusion My Afrikan Dream is an end to the confusion Mawetbu we Afrika (Africans) Nine kusasa Elittlbe (You have a bright future) Igugu e Afrika (Pride of Africa) Sizoni landela ma Afrika (We shall follow you Africans) Siyayibona Intlanzi (We can see the future) Ukukbanya Kwentokozo (The light of joy) Iguguletbu le ...

Drew Barrymore helps starving children in Africa
CELEBRITYSUBSTANCE.WEEBLY.COM Drew Barrymore turned her life around from rebellious teenager to celebrated actress, director, and producer. She has come a long way since her past with alcohol and drugs -- and thrived. Barrymore is not only a great actress, she has her own production company that has produced some of Barrymore's most popular films, including 'He's just not that into you' and 'Charlie's Angels'. Barrymore uses her influence in Hollywood to talk about important world issues. She is the UN's Ambasssador Against Hunger and actively supports the World Food Programme. In 2007, Barrymore took a trip to Kenya for a story in Marie Claire magazine. She visited a number of schools near Nairobi to see how they were coping with the access number of children in schools. Education had become free in Africa and the schools were bursting because so many kids wanted to go. Since then, Barrymore has been an advocate for healthy eating and education for children all over the world. Barrymore took pictures in Kenya to be auctioned off to raise money for the World Food Program - her pictures raised $20000 for the Marie Claire's World Hunger Campaign. In 2008, Barrymore donated $1 million to the WFP in an effort to help the WWOFP reach their goal of feeding 10 million hungry children in one year. WFP is seeking $3 billion — just 25 cents a day — to feed 59 million hungry school children in developing countries worldwide for a year. Last year, the organization fed more than 20 ...

South African Youth Organiztion Bokamoso at the "We Are One" Inaugural Opening Ceremony - 2009
Angelic Voices, Godly Spirits, Heavenly Celebrations... After the We Are One Opening Ceremony, I met up with The Bokamoso Youth Organization, from South Africa. Bokamoso means "future"... And these young ladies and gentlemen definitely have a bright future ahead of them, and are delighted to share their joy. President Obama's victory was the inspiration for most of the songs they sang that day, and it was beautiful. My mom captured some of the festivities on this video. :) Enjoy!

The Bright Side of Africa
This is a film that I did for my African studies class. The project was to pick a topic and challenge existing stereotypes about Africa. I chose to show how Western media perpetuates negative stereotypes by only showing the bad things that happen on the continent. My thesis question was whether our President will have any influence about how Africa is portrayed in the future given his close family ties to Africa.
