2011 Calendar Formula 1 World Champion Cars Presented by Nordschleife.us
Formula 1 Meets Art: 2011 Calendar 'World Champion Cars' by Jorge Garcia The most successful racecars in the history of Formula 1 racing -- illustrated by Argentinean artist Jorge Garcia -- are now featured in the fascinating 2011 calendar 'World Champion Cars.' The artist from Buenos Aires has created unique and highly detailed photo-realistic artworks that show the side profiles of 13 cars that have won the Formula 1 world championship. Starting with Alberto Ascari's 1952 Ferrari F 500 and ending with Michael Schumacher's world champion Ferrari F2004 car these works of art document the breathtaking speed of technological development in Formula 1 racing. The selection of featured racecars reads like the "Who's Who" of Grand Prix motorsports. Garcia, who has won many international awards for his art, also set his talent to work on the 1954 Mercedes W 196 R Streamliner driven by his legendary compatriot Juan Manuel Fangio. The racing 'log boats' of the 1960s are represented by the Ferrari 156, world champion in 1961 with Phil Hill behind the wheel, Jim Clark's 1965 Lotus Climax and Jackie Stewart's Matra MS80 from 1969. The cover of the calendar is dedicated to Emerson Fittipaldi's legendary Lotus 72. Also included in this collection of Garcia's impressive masterpieces are Niki Lauda's Ferrari 313 T2, the 1980 Williams FW07 driven by Alan Jones and the Brabham BT52 BMW piloted by Nelson Piquet. The technological development in Formula 1 during the 1990s is documented by ...

This is the F1 97` mod for GTR2 with HDR at the 20.81 km (12.93 mi) Ciruit Nordschleife of Nürburg, Germany. from Wikipedia current World Lap Record 6:11.13 ( Stefan Bellof, Porsche 956, 1983 WSC) Some History... After World War II, racing in the 1950s at the Nordschleife of Nürburg became the main venue for the German Grand Prix as part of the Formula One World Championship. On August 5, 1961, during practice for the 1961 German Grand Prix, Phil Hill became the first person to complete a lap of the Nordschleife in under 9 minutes, with a stunning lap of 8 minutes 55.2 seconds (153.4 km/h or 95.3 mph) in the Ferrari 156 "Sharknose" Formula One car By the late 1960s, the Nordschleife and many other tracks were becoming increasingly dangerous for the latest generation of F1 cars. In 1967, a chicane was added before the start/finish straight, called Hohenrain, in order to reduce speeds at the pit lane entry. In 1970, after the fatal crash of Piers Courage at Zandvoort, the F1 drivers decided at the French Grand Prix to boycott "The Ring" unless major changes were made, as they did at Spa the year before. The changes were not possible at short notice, and the German GP was moved to the Hockenheimring Interested in knowing some real lap times then check this out? en.wikipedia.org The Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro F1 Team (Past and Present) Felipe Massa Kimi Raikkonen Luca Badoer Marc Gene Luca Baldisserri Stefano Domenicali Aldo Costa Mario Almondo Gilles Simon Nicholas Tombazis ...

Ferrari 246 S at Le Mans
Just as Ferrari embarked on their V6 Formula One program, they debuted a V6 sports car at the 1958 Goodwood Sussex Trophy. Looking like a miniature Testa Rossa, this car was tested as its replacement for the upcoming 3-liter sports car championship. The Dino was named in memory of Dino Ferrari who motivated engineer Vittorio Jano to design a V6. He used an unusual angle of 65 degrees to achieve better intake ducting and modified the crankshaft accordingly. This V6 debuted in 1957 for the 1.5-liter Formula 2 Championship and was enlarged in 1958 for Formula One. The Goodwood car used an engine similar to the Formula One engine and was known as the '246 S'. It was a 2-liter version of the quad-cam V6 engine that was bored at 77mm to have 1983cc displacement and 225 bhp @ 8500 rpm. This engine sat in a typical frame similar to the Testa Rossa's with a solid rear axle, coil springs , and the 250 GT 4-speed manual. This first car (0740) was left hand drive and driven by Peter Collins at Goodwood to finish third. The same car appeared at Naples with Luigi Musso, but he smashed and spun the car too much to win. At Silverstone's over-1500cc race, Ferrari brought out their V6 Testa Rossa 'replacement'. Known as the Dino 296S this three-liter V6 had 300 bhp and looked promising-but this was only in specification. Driver Mike Hawthorn recalled it was 'catching up everyone on the straight, only to lose it again on the corners.' He was dealing with excessive over steer, roll and ...

BMW Turbo 1300HP Megatron 1500cc Formula 1 Engine
BMW M12 F1 The BMW M12/13 turbo 1500 cc 4-cylinder turbocharged Formula One engine, based on the standard BMW M10 engine introduced in 1961, powered the F1 cars of Brabham, Arrows and Benetton and won the world championship in 1983. As BMW M12, the engine design since the 1960s became one of the most successful engines in racing. Starting with the European Touring Car Championship, it was also used in Formula 2, expanded to two litre and fitted with four-valve heads, producing over 300 hp (224 kW). In the Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft, a 1400 cc variant (with a 1.4 handicap factor equal to 2000cc) was turbocharged by Paul Rosche according to FIA Group 5 rules. At well over 350 hp (261 kW) from the beginning, it rendered the normally aspirated engines in the two liter category useless. After some development, power, driveability and reliability improved, especially in the IMSA car, and BMW began to think about entering F1, where a handicap factor of 2.0 required 1500 cc engines. In the years 1986 and 1987, the version M12/13/1 was tilted sideways by 72° for use in the extremely low Brabham BT55. The design was not successful, probably due to cooling issues in the tight compartment. The 1986 engine was said to produce about 1300 hp (969 kW) in qualifying, that being the most powerful figure of all the turbo-charged engines in Formula One. As BMW announced to pull out officially at the end of 1986, the Arrows team brokered a deal with support from its primary sponsor ...

Ferrari 156 F1 Dino plain colour diecast model car CMC m078
The 1961 Formula 1 season came up with a completely new rule type. The racing teams had to switch their engines from 2.5 to 1.5 litres. Ferrari found itself in a very good position. They had developed a V6 mid-mounted engine with a 120 degrees cylinder angle and a maximum output of 190 hp. The new 156 F1 had a very unusual front design. So pretty soon, many people gave it the nickname Sharknose. Technically and ostensibly, the 156F1 was the most successful development in 1961. The season ended for the Scuderia with a large success but also with a disastrous tragedy. Phil Hill became the first American Formula 1 World Champion. The German Ferrari star Wolfgang Graf Berghe von Trips, that led the ranking for most of the season, became involved in a deadly accident in Monza. Never before joy and teariness was that close on just one day. Annotation: It is factual that no original Ferrari 156 F1 exists in the whole world. But after months of meticulous research and contacting countless Ferrari experts, CMC was able to get all necessary data for a harmonious model development. Thanks to that kind of knowledge about the car and its famous drivers, we are in a position to accomplish this mission impossible with true-to-the-original details and the well known CMC craftsmanship and quality.
