- July 4'th 1977, Oakland, great quality. "Free Bird" (also spelled "Freebird") is a song by the American southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. It was first featured on the band's debut album (Pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd) in 1973, and has been included on subsequent albums released by the band. Released as a single in November 1974, "Free Bird" became the band's second Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in early 1975, where it peaked at No. 19. A live version of the song also reached the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1977, peaking at No. 38. Free Bird also achieved the No. 3 spot on Guitar World's 100 Greatest Guitar Solos. It is used as a finale by Lynyrd Skynyrd during their live performances, and is their longest song, often going well over 14 minutes when played live. The lyrical portion of the song was written early in the group's history. Roadie Billy Powell was discovered as a keyboardist for the band when he played the intro piece to "Free Bird" at a high school prom. Lead vocalist Ronnie Van Zant noted his talent and invited him to join. Allen Collins's then-girlfriend, Kathy, whom he later married, asked him, "If I leave here tomorrow would you still remember me?" Collins jotted the question down and it eventually became the opening line of "Free Bird". Gary Rossington played a Gibson SG and used a glass Coricidin bottle for a slide on this song to emulate one of his heroes, Duane Allman. CBS News has purchased exclusive television rights to this video footage of the fireworks fail. Rumor is that Garden State Fireworks, the company that provided the show, has offered to provide a better show in 2013 for free. That would be nice of them to do.

the film was shot in 2011.
we started the project spontaneously in february in burkina faso and two shots from there even survived over the process. we continued to shoot additional scenes at the north sea cost without still knowing all of the story we would be telling at the end. then in hamburg we shot most of the scenes and finished it in brussels in july.
all in all i would say:
round about 7 days of shooting.
lots of nice shots we didn't put in the final editing ;)
shot on canon eos 5d mkII with older nikon prime lenses.
35mm 1.4 // 50mm 1.2 // 85mm 1.4 // 105mm 1.8
all pics are manually shot single photos in sraw2 format.

I am a photographer from Portland, Oregon. I want to share the beautiful NW region through my eyes with time-lapse photography.
I choose to shoot locations that appeal to the way I would like to interpret the story of time. Here in the Pacific Northwest, there are endless opportunities to document the magnificence of the world around us. I have discovered that when time is the storyteller, a special kind of truth emerges.

Mt. Shuksan, Crater Lake, Mt. Bachelor, Mount St. Helens, Oregon's Badlands, Painted Hills, Cape Kiwanda, Mt. Hood, Lost lake, and Cannon Beach
I started this project in July 2011 and shot the final scene in August 2012. I took approximately 260,000 images. I used 6.3 TB of hard drive space.
