Ivo Pogorelich, Claudio Abbado Pt3-5 Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No.1 3/3 Allegro non troppo e molto
Ivo Pogorelich, Claudio Abbado Pt3-5 Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No.1 3/3 Allegro non troppo e molto Pyotr Il'yich Tchaikovsky (1840-1893) Piano Concerto No. 1 in B flat minor, Op. 23 1 Allegro non troppo e molto maestoso - Allegro con spirito Part 1 1of3;2of3;3of3 (3 parts) 2 Andantino simplice - Prestissimo Part2 3 Allegro con fuoco Part3 Ivo Pogorelich, piano Claudio Abbado an operbathosa video Discussion Part3: Disagreement with Rubinstein: Three years later Tchaikovsky shared what happened with his patroness, Nadezhda von Meck: I played the first movement. Not a single word, not a single remark! If you knew how stupid and intolerable is the situation of a man who cooks and sets before a friend a meal, which he proceeds to eat in silence! Oh, for one word, for friendly attack, but for God's sake one word of sympathy, even if not of praise. Rubinstein was amassing his storm, and Hubert was waiting to see what would happen, and that there would be a reason for joining one side or the other. Above all I did not want sentence on the artistic aspect. My need was for remarks about the virtuoso piano techinque. R's eloquent silence was of the greatest significance. He seemed to be saying: "My friend, how can I speak of detail when the whole thing is antipathetic? I fortified myself with patience and played through to the end. Still silence. I stood up and asked, "Well?" Then a torrent poured from Nikolay Grigoryevich's mouth, gentle at first, then more and more growing into ...

"Strauss y Tchaikovsky"

45 Second Pitch: Christoph Warrack - Open Cinema
OPEN CINEMA is a national network of film clubs programmed by and for homeless and vulnerable people. Each week participants watch the best in contemporary cinema and work with professional filmmakers to create films of their own. Films are regularly introduced by filmmakers and other experts. In the past year, members have welcomed more than 75 guests, including director Stephen Frears [The Queen], screenwriter and playwright Sir Tom Stoppard [Shakespeare in Love], cinematographer John Mathieson [Gladiator], and actors Paul McGann [Withnail and I] and Jonathan Pryce [Tomorrow Never Dies]. The Open Cinema philosophy is that people excluded from society need the benefits of culture as much as information and food. Open Cinema takes film to people at the margins, and brings them and their aspirations to the centre of cultural life. OPEN CINEMA is open to all individuals experiencing homelessness or exclusion of any kind. The current age range of members varies between 16-85, and includes rough sleepers, individuals recovering from drug and alcohol dependence, displaced people in temporary accommodation, ex-service personnel and migrant workers. Open Cinema is currently concluding an in-depth evaluation report into our first year of national operations, with a specific focus on our work in the homeless sector. This report is due for release Summer 2011. Christoph oversees all aspects of Open Cinema from strategy and finance to innovation and public engagement. He worked in ...

In New York City, he was hired by Oscar Hammerstein I for his Manhattan Opera Company as a replacement for the great Maurice Renaud. He sang with the Manhattan company in 1908-1910, becoming its principal Italian baritone, but he never 'graduated' to the rival Metropolitan Opera.
