Pickled Peppers: A guide to pickling hot peppers
Pickled peppers are a great way to preserve your garden harvest. From spicy to sweet, this recipe will be a great treat on a cold winter day. Pickling jalapeño peppers, anaheims, bell peppers -- really, any pepper is good for pickling. This video from Rita Heikenfeld of www.abouteating.com shows you an easy pickling recipe that requires very little time and won't keep you in the kitchen canning all day. *Guidelines have changed since I recorded this video. The national center for home preservation recommends processing these peppers in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes. I am leaving that up to each individual. ~Rita

Obsessives - Pickles
Heres the cliché: Alex Hozven craved pickles when she was pregnant with her first son, 12 years ago. And the twist: She started her own pickling business. The Cultured Pickle Shop sells pickles ranging from classic sauerkrauts to unusual kimchees and Kombuchas—way beyond the sour dill. But its the experiments, like the mysterious nuka pot or pickled blood oranges, that really get Hozven excited. Theres plenty of zing, zest, pow in all her pickles, though.

Making Sweet Pickles
This recipe for the best sweet pickles I've ever tasted, had been lost for many years. I have searched for it many times, without any luck. It was my grandmother's recipe. My uncle finally found it for me. Thank you Uncle Ed! MIMI'S SWEET PICKLES DAY 1: Wash and cut 1 gallon cucumbers (into chunks or thick slices) Put into stone jar (crock), large glass or plastic container...no metal. Dissolve 1 cup salt in 1/2 gallon boiling water and pour over them while hot. If this does not cover your pickles, make another batch of salted water. Weigh pickles down with saucer or such to keep cukes under water. DAY 2: Let stand DAY 3: Let stand Day 4: Drain and pour fresh boiling water and let stand overnight. Day 5: Pour 1/2 gallon boiling water with 1 tablespoon powered powdered alum over pickles and let stand 24 hours and drain. (This makes them crisp) DAY 6: Pour fresh boiling water over them again and let stand overnight. DAY 7: For pickling mixture, combine 1 quart vinegar—boiling hot—3 cups sugar, 1/4 oz. celery seed, 1/2 oz. cinnamon sticks, 1 teaspoon ground ginger, and 1 teaspoon whole cloves. Pour over pickles. (If you pour last nights water off your pickles, into a quart jar, you will be able to tell how many quarts of vinegar you need to cover your cukes.) DAYS 8, 9, & 10: Pour the liquid off the pickles, into a large pot, and add 1/2 cup sugar each day, and bring to a boil. Remove liquid from heat, let cool for about 20 minutes, and pour back over pickles. With last ...

How To Pickle Jalapeno Peppers
How to Pickle Jalapeno Peppers No processing Jalapenos recipe this is a PRE HD Look how dark it is with my old Camcorder.. This is the lost video for last fall.. Clean and Sterilize your Jars. The easiest way is to run through the dishwasher and leave in there to stay heated. Place lids in boiling water and once they are heated just let sit in the water to stay warm prior to adding to the jar, this helps them "Pop" faster.. (Seal) • Combine 3 Cups Vinegar • One Cup Water • Half Cup or 1/4 Cup of Sugar. I did both.. (Many recipes are One Part Water, One Part Vinegar and your Salt or Sugar usually at about 1/4 cup) You can experiment to get the flavor you want. Bring to a boil and stir until all is dissolved Slit or poke holes into the peppers so the juice gets in there. Pack your peppers and any other spices into the jars Ladle the brine into the jars leaving a little headspace. Use a butter knife and push down the sides to release any air bubbles. Take lid out of warm water place on jar along with screw cap. Screw on.. Pretty simple to do this; use fresh from the garden or Farmers market

How to pickle veggies
Full recipe: bit.ly The Daily joined Marisa McClellan, blogger and author of the new book "Food in Jars: Preserving in Small Batches Year-Round," in her Philadelphia kitchen to learn the art of pickling. Though originally there only to discover a perfectly preserved Bloody Mary garnish (check out that video later this month), we ended up with a new appreciation for all things brined and jarred. We think you will too. — Series by Beryl Shereshewsky and Allegra Scarano; video by Beryl Shereshewsky and Vivek Kemp

Cool Hunting Video Presents: DL Skateboards
It's well known that hiding behind the facades of many buildings in Brooklyn, NY are an endless array of companies producing artisanal pickles and locally designed clothes but rarely can you wander down a street to find a product being made out on the concrete. DL Skateboards is a unique young company that makes custom, handmade skate decks on the sidewalk outside a Greenpoint apartment building and in a retrofitted box truck acquired in New Hampshire. The couple behind the brand, Lauren Andino and Derek Mabra, have been skateboarding most of their lives and their passion and love for the sport drive their small business forward, producing fantastic cruisers modeled after 60's classics. In our latest video we found the couple out on the street shaping decks for one of their final runs before moving to California.

DJ Cheeba - Revenge of The Nerd
In 2010, DJ Cheeba's first audio visual mix 'The Reels of Solid Steel' set a new level of progression for DJs. Now in 2011 he returns with the next episode... 'Revenge Of The Nerd'. A quick fire, attention frying, mash of sure fire club hits, stone cold classics, countless acapellas and turntable tricknology, all set to a visual feast of music videos, pop culture cameos, kung fu interludes and cinematic delights. Mixed with incredible flair and imagination, this is another bench mark in contemporary DJ culture. As Cheeba puts it... "It's cut and paste sound and pictures for people with open minds and short attention spans."
