Spain Police Beating Everyone: A Warning To America
Spain's police state has spiraled out of control as riot police are now running throughout the streets beating everyone in sight, men and woman, young and old. When the people demand democracy from an oligarchy that rules their subjects trough the strong-arm of a totalitarian police state the streets fill with the madness and mayhem seen in this video. Since September 25th the masses of Spain, no longer being able to feed themselves or their families, have risen up against the oligarchy to protest further budget cuts and massive tax increases, a situation so dire it threatens their very survival. While the masses suffer these unspeakable atrocities the poor are being robbed yet again to bail out the rich. The overlords have no sympathy for the less fortunate and instead of forcing the bankers to take losses on their investments the ruling class remains disconnected from the reality of millions. The unrest spans across Europe where several nations being forced to pinch out the masses by globalist regulatory bodies claiming nations need to get their fiscal house in order But as we have seen in every previous past crash situations such as these are used as nothing more than excuse to help the rich reduce their own tax burden and the operating costs of the corporations they run. Yet this time around the downward spiral only continues to self-perpetuate and deepen as the funds collected with each passing austerity cut are spent funding yet another banker bailout. These ...

Spanish Police Crack Down on Protesters Surrounding the Parliament
Anti-austerity rage intensified in Madrid, as protesters surrounded the parliament Tuesday night in a sign of mounting frustration towards the right-wing government. Their demands included the resignation of top officials with new elections, the halt to austerity measures, and the rewriting of the Spanish Constitution. The protesters charged the government with theft and criminal activity for implementing harsh austerity measures, hiking taxes, record unemployment and allowing mass evictions of unemployed families on a daily basis. As thousands converged outside the gates of parliament, hundreds of police clashed with protesters, detaining and beating many. Organizers of the action were harassed and intimidated by the police weeks before September 25th. Activists were detained, assembly meetings broken up and a cultural center was raided and shut down. The Spanish government, with help of the mainstream media, hyped the event as a possible coup d'etate. Nearly 2000 police officers were deployed to prevent the protesters from reaching the parliament. Despite the main unions withdrawing their support, it's estimated close to 10000 people attended. The call to surround the congress brought out Spaniards from all walks of life despite police repression to prevent activists from mobilizing. On numerous occasions, the police pushed and shoved us as we tried to film. Other journalists were beaten and injured by rubber bullets. Story produced by Jihan Hafiz and Jairo Vargas ...

RACIST SPANISH POLICE & AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL
According to Spanish law the police can check the identity of people in public places when there is a security concern, for example when a crime has been committed in the area. However, Amnesty International research has revealed that deliberate identity checks on foreigners in the absence of any security concern are widespread. Certain police stations in Madrid have been given weekly and monthly quotas for the number of irregular migrants they have to detain thus encouraging officers to target people belonging to ethnic minorities. Racial profiling, when the police stop to question and arrest people because of their skin colour does not always amount to discrimination, but is discriminatory and illegal according to international law if it has no reasonable or objective justification. This campaign film features Matteo de Bellis, Amnesty International Campaigner, on location in Spain - 14 DEC 2011

Video of brutal Spain riot police crackdown, over 100 protesters injured
More than 100 people were injured in Spain as riot police clashed with protesters on Friday, as authorities cleared away a makeshift camp set up as part of a Spain-wide demonstration against the country's economic problems. The trouble started when police tried to clear the protesters from a main square in Barcelona. Many of the protesters, who are angry about high unemployment, anti-austerity measures and politicians' handling of the economy, refused to move. Video from a local broadcaster showed officers beating the demonstrators and dragging them on the ground. RT on Facebook: www.facebook.com RT on Twitter: twitter.com

BBC News - Spain police fire rubber bullets at Madrid protest (26/9/12)
Spanish police have fired rubber bullets and baton-charged protesters attending a rally against austerity. The clashes broke out as protesters tried to tear down barriers blocking access to the parliament in Madrid. Spanish media reported that at least 20 people had been arrested and more than a dozen injured. The protesters dispersed after MPs left the building. The "Occupy Congress" protest came as the government prepares to unveil further austerity measures on Thursday. It is attempting to shrink its budget deficit, with the country in its second recession in three years and unemployment near 25%. The government will unveil the draft budget for 2013 on Thursday and is expected to present new cost-saving reforms to reassure lenders about the state of the country's public finances. Emergency funds The demonstrators - known as Indignants - say "Occupy Congress" is a protest against the kidnapping of democracy. Thousands of people massed in Plaza de Neptuno square in central Madrid for the march on parliament. But their route towards the parliament building's main entrance was blocked off by metal railings, police vans and hundreds of Spanish riot police. Mark Smith, who lives near the site of the protest, said: "I saw riot police with their batons charging at protesters trying to split up the crowd." By late on Wednesday night, the majority of the protesters had dispersed peacefully. Tuesday's demonstration was organised via social media sites and many young people turned ...

La Carreta: The Miami Celebration Spot
Music licensed through With Etiquette.
"Only in Miami" is a phrase that we often hear in the humid melting pot that is the Magic City. There are just certain customs and traditions that you would never witness past Broward county. Things that are truly unique to the Latin-infused culture that Miami has to offer.
Well, only in Miami would people fleece their kitchens of their pots and pans and wooden spoons, and congregate around a restaurant to celebrate the Miami Heat's amazing championship victory into the wee hours of night. When something big happens, such as the Florida Marlins winning the World Series, or when the universally detested Fidel Castro gave up power to his brother Raúl, La Carreta Restaurant in Westchester is the gathering spot for the local Miami community. Walk in past La Carreta's coffee window on a busy Saturday night and there's always a lively crowd talking, arguing and sharing stories! It is a microcosm of Miami culture: older people discussing politics, police officers on break, young men and women sharing an authentic Cuban meal, middle-aged bikers on Harleys, and the full spectrum of Miami characters: Cuban, Latin American, and American alike.
The restaurant itself is surely unique, but what we wondered was what draws a large community of people to celebrate at the same spot (especially since it's a chain) for these big moments?
Throughout the Heat's playoff run, the city has been on edge. Miamians wanted a championship so bad they could taste it. This was our year, and we were all confident that our team could do it.
But the one thing we could be sure of was that if and when they won, La Carretta on Bird Road would be flooded with people celebrating. The sounds of banging pots, honking horns and Spanish music blasting from cars would fill the streets and impromptu parades and conga lines would jam the sidewalks.
Last night, Miami did not disappoint! The Heat ended their glorious Finals run against OKC 4-1, and the Miami community did what it does best: jubilant unapologetic celebration.
