Lee Kyung-eun (born Lee Kyung-yeop, February 17, 1975), better known by her stage name Harisu (Hangul: 하리수; Hanja: 河莉秀), is a South Korean pop singer, model, and actress. Assigned male at birth, Harisu identified as female from early childhood, and underwent sex reassignment surgery in the 1990s. She is South Korea's first transgender entertainer, and in 2002 became only the second person in Korea to legally change their gender. Her stage name is an adaptation of the English phrase "hot issue".
Harisu first gained public attention in 2001, after appearing in a television commercial for DoDo cosmetics. The commercial was a success and ended up launching her career, allowing her to branch out into other fields such as music and acting. So far she has recorded five Korean musical albums, switching genres between techno and R&B, and her overseas releases have featured songs recorded in Mandarin. Her first major acting role was in the 2001 film Yellow Hair 2, and since then her credits have included Hi! Honey, a Taiwanese drama series, and Colour Blossoms, an erotic drama by Hong Kong filmmaker Yonfan. On May 19, 2007, Harisu married Micky Jung, whom she had been dating for two years.
Harisu is the self-titled fourth studio album by Harisu, released in South Korea by YBM Seoul Records on January 24, 2006. It was seen as her comeback album following a two-year absence from the Korean music scene, and marked a change in her image with an emphasis on being "cute" rather than "sexy". The album itself features pop music that ranges in style between R&B, hip hop, disco and slow ballads. Harisu's then boyfriend (now husband) Micky Jung also worked on the album, his contributions including a rap on "Winter Story", which was released as a digital single in December 2005. A music video was filmed for lead track "Reaction", a song written by Shin Myeong-gu, who had previously produced albums for Diva and NRG. The album peaked at #46 on the MIAK K-pop albums chart, selling 1,596 copies in its first month of release.
Harisu was also released in Taiwan and China, with the addition of Mandarin-language versions of "Reaction" and "Sleeping Beauty". The Chinese CD omitted several other tracks, but was packaged with a photo booklet and bonus VCD, containing music videos and TV footage.
Verse1
I burned for you
broke bread with you
I even gave you all my loot
At home for you
no calls from you
I feel like you
done worked a root
I took the bull
You took your time
Made love to me
You blew my mind
I pulled from you
You got me high
It's over now
and I'll tell you why
Hook
I know what love is
I know what love is
I know what love is
Love Love Love Love
Verse 2
I cared for you
I cried for you
I let you meet
my mama too
All lies from you
Broken in two
Wanted to leave
I stayed for you
So fool for you
On pause for you
Said it was love
Now what's the truth?
Confused by you
You're attitude
These silly games
You're changing moods
Hook
I know what love is
I know what love is
I know what love is
Love Love Love Love
I know I
I know I
I know I
I know I
Love Is
Love Is
Bridge:
Yeah Yeah Yeah Oh Yeah
Well I'm Frontin and I'm Grinning
But I really can't take no more
Vamp:
You don't call me anymore
It's really such a bore
Alone I am sleeping
but if love is such a chore
Then baby please ignore
