Cricklewood Craic
Cricklewood Craic is a portrait of the Irish construction workers who lived and sought work in North West London between the 1950's and the end of the 20th Century. Four retired construction workers who migrated to London recount their experiences and reveal a once thriving Irish community in Cricklewood. Times have changed, the dancehalls and pubs have since disappeared and a new workforce now gather on the Chichele Road hoping for a day's casual labour. Despite the deep foundations once laid to build the social and physical identity of Cricklewood, today only the songs and memories remain.

Arthur was born at 27 Olive Road in 1911 and lived there until his mid-teens before emigrating to Australia. His daughter Sue kindly shared part of Arthur's journal where he'd recalled his childhood years living in Cricklewood. This video has those memories narrated along with historical photos from Brent Archive's incredibly brilliant online catalogue brent.adlibsoft.com (you could spend hours lost in it, it's amazing). Cricklewood Station 27/8/09
This is a great location Along the MML as it is straight for miles in the bedford direction but there is a Corner in the London direction, but i still have plety of time to set up and record. This station is great as their are NO jobsworth arseholes telling you that you can film. Anyway here is what i saw: 1.a Full FCC class 377 at St pancras Low Level 2. a EMT 222 at Speed 3. A flashing orange signal and 2 FCC 319s Pass 4. A EMT 222 through At Speed 5. 66524 On Smelly Binliner Freightliner 6. a EX Hull Trains 222102 With old MML Door at 3.11 7. 66524 Back Light engine 8. A fast EMT HST Into St Pancras 9. 222023 Tornado in Depot 10. A Pair of FCC 377s Fast 11. Fast EMT HST into St pancras 12. 43048 Tones with a DEAD PC at rear.
