Streamlyne - Good Friday (For Olivia Penpraze)
www.facebook.com/streamlyne I saw this video the other night that had me in tears A girl talking about all the pain she had through the years How bullying had brought her to the point where she wanted to kill herself And guess what? She actually did No matter how hard we try to find the happiness here There are always people who wanna see all that disappear Society tells us how we have to appear And gives us certain criteria to which we have to adhere Go against that, expect no compassion, but fear And get attacked by your peers calling you faggot or queer It's disgusting, the way people act The things they say, with no way of taking it back Call her ugly, tell her she should kill herself, and send her To a place where there's no way of making it back The internet's great, but I fucking hate it for that The way people always seem to get away with this crap I wish there was more that I could do to make a change but I guess there's only so much that I can say on a track So while you're sitting inside because it's raining out there Think about what i've said and enjoy what's left, of Good Friday What started as a standard track, ended up being deeper than I expected. RIP Olivia Penpraze. Bullying should NEVER be tolerated... Please contact the following people if you need help.. www.lifeline.org.au www.beyondblue.org.au au.reachout.com

Good Friday, Rebecca Black Parody
Happy Holy Week From Thumbs Up Productions. Check out this Rebecca Black Parody "Good Friday." A two minute version was submitted to Second City's Seven Day Shorts with a cartoon Jesus. Email Thumbs Up Productions to see that piece of work.... Lyrics: Thirty-three AD; time for the passion Get Ciaiphas, Get Pontius Pilate Gotta get a whip, gotta take some lashes. King of the Jews, my time is coming A crucifixion, everybody's yelling Got a big cross; damn its heavy. Gotta crown of thorns, where are my friends? Judas he deceived me Peter he denied me Gotta tell my father I need some new friends. Good Friday, Friday Gotta die on Good Friday Everybody's watching me fall and they're not helping Good Friday, Friday Getting crucified day Dad better be right about my resurrection. Suffering, Suffering (Yeah) Suffering, Suffering (Yeah) This is not fun Looking forward to Revelation! It's 3 PM, I'm hanging on the big cross Nails through my hands, and why did they stab me. Son, Son, I am his son You know he won't like this. Jesus Christ, Son of God A thief is by my right side Oh screw this, I am pissed And now you'll know it! Darkness when it's still day Lightning cause I'm angry Bet you didn't think that I was serious. Good Friday, Friday Gotta eat fish on Friday Everybody's sorry and now they're Christians. Good Friday, Friday I just died on Friday Everybody's looking forward to Easter Sunday. Rising up, Rising up (Yeah) Rising up, Rising up (Yeah) In just three days Who the hell ...

Wagner- Parsifal - Act III - Good Friday Music (Kurt Moll)
from Parsifal's "Du salbtest mir die Füsse" to the peal of bells in the distance before "Mittag". Parsifal, opera, WWV 111, Karfreitagszauber (Good Friday Spell) Kurt Moll (Gurnemanz), Siegfried Jerusalem, and Waltraud Meier - Levine conducts. go here to see this performance continue at "Mittag": www.youtube.com A warm and sunny Good Friday, with its mood of sacred solemnity, once inspired me with the idea of writing Parsifal; since then it has lived within me and prospered, like a child in its mother's womb. With each Good Friday it grows a year older, and I then celebrate the day of its conception, knowing that its birthday will follow one day. [Letter from Richard Wagner to King Ludwig, 14 April 1865] Barry Millington writes: In his searching essay, "The Sorrows and Grandeur of Richard Wagner", Thomas Mann comes closer than most commentators to describing the sublime, monumental effect of Wagner's music. It is marked by "pessimistic heaviness and measured yearning", he says, and speaks of "forces struggling out of dark confusion to find deliverance in beauty". Nowhere is that sense of a weighty tread allied to unearthly, exalted eloquence more evident than in the composer's last, most masterly score, Parsifal (1877-82).. Parsifal, after many years of wandering, appears with the spear that will heal Amfortas's wound. Gazing on the beautiful meadows, Parsifal says that on Good Friday every living thing should only sigh and sorrow, and the radiant Good Friday Music is a ...

The Bridge
The Vision:
Back in October of 2009, I set out to make a film that would push my talents as both a storyteller and a filmmaker. I wanted to create a film that would challenge myself and my audience, meshing both classical and experimental storytelling techniques from music, books, & films that have inspired me in one way or another. I wanted to make a film that didn’t do any spoon-feeding, where my audience would leave with questions as well as answers. It was a long a difficult road to get to this point and there were days where I felt that I was in way over my head but eight months later, I can proudly say I’ve finally completed my film “The Bridge” and it was an experience I would never forget.
The Inspiration:
The story of The Bridge was a story a cousin had told me when I was eight years old. It was a ghost story about two siblings on a bridge. I remember it haunting me for weeks and causing many sleepless nights under my sheets. Obviously, it had a lasting influence in my life. It had always been one of those stories that I wanted to adapt into a short film so when the opportunity finally came one day, I decided to pull to trigger.
When I was in film school, I would constantly fantasize about making some sort of epic period piece, especially one that took place during WW2. So when I decided I was going to make The Bridge, I instantly followed it up with “hell, why not make it into a WW2 movie”? I could have easily made this film as a contemporary piece but where would the fun be in that? I never do things because it’s easy; I do it because it’s hard. I love a challenge. I figured I could keep the same characters, themes, motifs, style, and wrap it around a WW2 setting. So I did.
Pre-production:
So it began. After a quick outline, I started writing the screenplay and, being a one-man crew at the time, I also started doing work on costumes and props. I lived and breathed WW2 24/7. I watched every WW2 movie and documentary I could get my hands on. I even got my hands some real WW2 letters to get a grasp on the era’s language. I felt like a student again and I loved it. I scoured eBay for every WW2 field gear I could afford to buy and the stuff I couldn’t get, I had them custom made cheaply in China. I wanted it to be detailed and authentic as possible while keeping my almost non-existing budget down. I remember coming home one day and having almost a couple dozen eBay packages on front door. It looked like the front door of the post office.
Casting:
The casting of The Bridge was actually one of the smoothest aspects of the entire process. I first went to my good friend Amy and asked her if she would like to help me produce the film. Having worked with each other before, I didn’t really have to ask twice. She was happy to be my first recruit.
For the leading role, I asked my good friend Pablo Soriano to take the part. Having worked with him before, we have a good understanding of each other. He is just a naturally gifted actor and he makes my job as a director so much easier. Plus, his puppy dog eyes make him a perfect protagonist.
For the leading female role, I went looking for a girl who had beautiful, almost hypnotic eyes. That’s when I spotted Leah in one my good friend’s music video. I called up Carlos and basically told him, “I need to have that girl for movie”. A few days later, she was on board.
I owe the discovery of Mike, the character who plays James Connolly, to my producer Amy. She had read the script and recommended him. I remember her telling me “Mike IS James”. Words that any director would love to hear and as usual, Amy was right.
So a couple months later, the script was complete, the costumes and props were ready, and the cast was cast. We were ready to shoot!
Production:
With our extremely limited budget, I knew right from day one that we were going to shoot “The Bridge” on DSLRs, specifically the Canon 7D and 5D Mark II. With this in mind, I knew (as also the DP of the film), I was going to push these cameras to its limits. I wasn’t going to let my equipment limit my vision of the film. I knew at the very beginning that I may or may not have a crappy movie in the end but hell, it’s gonna look damn good! We all know about the camera’s limitations but I wasn’t going to bitch and moan about it, I was going to work around it. I took it as a personal challenge to make these cameras work and I did.
About 75% of the film was shot with the 7D and the rest with the 5DM2. The main reason I shot with the 7D more was the 24p firmware update wasn’t available for the 5DM2 during the bulk of the shooting. I prefer the 5DM2’s full frame sensor the 7D cropped sensor.
Production, like any other shoot, had its ups and downs. Ours was mainly San Francisco’s unpredictable weather. You can blink and the bay area can go from miserable foggy weather (which is what I wanted for the film) to perfect summer beach party weather.

I received a production-run arc4 with the final firmware on Friday. This signaled a mad scramble to update my work for that and the latest serialosc with arc support so it'll be ready when people start receiving their units in a few days. So what do I do on Saturday? Make a new app, of course. Sure, that totally sounds like the responsible thing to do.
After receiving the arc4, I thought it might be a good idea to produce an example that demonstrates a 'bank' of encoder values that you can switch between. That gave birth to an application idea involving triggering modal notes from a pool of probabilities across three octaves of scale degrees. There is a separate bank of pitches depending on clockwise or counterclockwise rotation so you can shift the harmony with a simple gesture. The weighting of scale degrees is programmable and editable in real time on screen or with a MIDI controller. This allows for a more controlled structuring of compositional development over longer periods of time. The speed of the rotation determines how often a note is triggered, and can also be used as a modulation parameter for the FM synthesis engine.
Relevant synthesis parameters are also editable on the arc as the notes are triggered. The state of these parameters is overlaid on the LEDs, so interesting patterns emerge when this mode is engaged. There was a really awesome bug where switching editing modes also transposed the output modally, so I built in a score feature that allows you to advance a programmed chord progression with a button push.
A sit-the-arc-in-your-lap-and-doodle app has been on my mind a lot and I have at least three good starts in this area, but other priorities have often pushed these out of the way. The prototype arc2 I had lacked the mounting bracket for the USB cable and the logic board was floating free inside the enclosure, so I always had to use it (carefully) on a stationary, flat surface. It is really nice to have an arc that can be moved around or used in the lap. My cat disagrees.
I recorded this video, holocene, as a demonstration of this app, which I'm calling electric dharma wheels. This is the raw output from the electric dharma wheels, with some Eos reverb added after the fact.

59 Yr Woman Wins Truck From Frenchie's Ford By Making Hole in one
I gotta tell you I've seen some cool things in my life, but friday night took the grand prize, Mrs. Brenda Hewlett 59 years old won a chance to be one of 5 people to shoot the puck to win a brand new 2011 Ford F150 4x4, Brenda had been in t...he dealership on friday morning to get some service work done to her old truck, & had said "god I wish I could afford a new truck mine is falling apart" Joe Jock my service manager said "here fill out this ballot & win one" both started laughing. It's a one in a Gazzilion shot from 114 feet away, the opening is almost the exact size of a regulation size hockey puck. Mrs. Hewlett has never even held a hockey stick in her entire life let alone ever shot a puck. The finalists were all on the ice after I drove the new truck onto the ice, I had friends in the back of the truck throwing frisbee's into the crowd. After a lap around the arena, I gathered the contestants at the far blue line, I yelled out ladies first , Mrs. Hewlett said "Oh god I don't wanna be first I'm going to look foolish" She put a helmet on grabbed the stick I walked up next to her & said "Let It Go & Believe" Well the whole arena must have believed & the Christmas angels were upon her. She pulled back the puck in a akward stance Mrs Hewlett is only about 5'3 (the stick was way too big) and she let it fly, I myself & the crowd didn't even think there was enough steam on the puck to even make it to the target, after it passed the second blue line .. I yelled out .. OH ..OH .. the crowd started going absolutley CRAZY .. the puck then decided to get some wheels, feet, legs whatever you wanna call it & went straight into the hole with speed I might add. Needless to say the arena EXPLODED !! People were slamming the glass people in the lobby were charging out the doors & beating on the glass in the concesion area .. all the Warrior hockey players rushed the ice from the locker room .. I have been on crutches for about a week & had one in my arm, when the puck went in I threw my arms up & screamed so loud with such enthusiasm the crutch slipped from my hand & launched about 40 feet in the air, (thank goodness I didn't hurt anyone LOL) I looked over at Brenda with tears in both of our eyes from pure joy jumping & screaming, I looked over at the truck on the ice with my friends Marney Tarbell, Lisa Ellis, Monica Paige & other women associated with the team who helped throw the frisbees & T shirts into the crowd, The truck was just bouncing.. It was complete PANDEMONIUM !!! I am so happy for Mrs. Hewlett & The Akwesane Warriors & my staff for putting this together. Like I've always said Angels are upon us & miracles do happen. It couldn't have happened to a nicer hard working woman than Mrs. Hewlett. I witnessed a Christmas Miracle On Ice last night, a night I will NEVER forget & will be able to tell this wonderful story to so many. To top the night off the Warriors came back from a deficit in the 3rd period & won the game. As Jim McKay said at the 1980 Olympic Hockey game when the U.S. beat the Russian's .. "DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES ?? ... YES !!!!"

Good Friday
Combining clips from "The Passion Of The Christ" with the song "The Lamb" by Low—I made this video to set the tone for a Good Friday service where we focused on the short time between Christ's death and his resurrection. What must those dark hours have been like for his followers until they saw him again alive? Note: The first minute or so has been clipped, since it was just black screen with music.
