Sprite (soft drink)

Sprite is a colorless, lemon and lime flavored, caffeine-free soft drink, created by the Coca-Cola Company. It was developed in West Germany in 1959 as Fanta Klare Zitrone ("Clear Lemon Fanta") and introduced in the United States as Sprite in 1961. This was Coke's response to the popularity of 7 Up. It comes in a primarily silver, green, and blue can or a green transparent bottle with a primarily green and yellow label.

Marketing

Over the years, Sprite advertising has used the portmanteau word lymon, combining the words lemon and lime, to describe the flavor of the drink.

Sprite's slogans in the 60s and 70s ranged from "Taste Its Tingling Tartness", "Naturally Tart", and "It's a Natural!" and "It's Sprite!"

Fanta Klare Zitrone was renamed Sprite in West Germany in 1968.

Sprite started its most memorable campaign in the early 1980s with the words "Great Lymon Taste Makes it Sprite" which remained on the logo for many years.

By the 1980s Sprite had begun to have a large following among teenagers; marketing ads for the product were changed to cater to this demographic in 1987. "I Like the Sprite in You" was their first long-running slogan. Many versions of the jingle were made during that time to fit various genres. The slogan was used until 1994.

Sprite is a fictional character appearing in the comic books published by Marvel Comics. Although physically a child, Sprite is an Eternal, a member of an ancient and extremely powerful race. He was created by Jack Kirby and first appeared in The Eternals vol. 1 #9.

Fictional character biography

Sprite is an incorrigible trickster and practical joker, and has been for centuries. It is rumored that in Marvel continuity, he was the inspiration for William Shakespeare to write the character of Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream. He revels in what he sees as "playful" behavior, seemingly mindless of the sometimes deadly consequences of his pranks, especially to fragile mortal Humans. Though he has been punished time and again for his actions, he always returns to his preferred way of life after a while.

During the Fourth Host of the Celestials, when Zuras calls for the Uni-Mind to examine the Celestials' Mothership, Sprite remains behind with Domo's Central Processor. Then he convinces the imprisoned Forgotten Eternal to help stop an attack to the Celestial ship.

Fairy (Artemis Fowl)

Fairies, in the fantasy series Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer, are fictional beings, usually shorter than a human, who possess magic properties. The average height of a fairy is exactly 1 metre, one centimetre. All the fairies have retreated below the Earth to escape the destructiveness of the human race. Their underground civilization is centered on the capital city of Haven. Fairies are vernacularly known as the People, and live a life according to the Book of the People. There are 8 recognized families of fairies- Elves, Dwarves, Pixies, Gnomes, Gremlins, Goblins, Sprites and Demons. However, the centaurs have been mentioned several times, as with trolls, and the centaurs' cousins, the unicorns, were killed off, yet they are not recognized.

The Eight Families

In Artemis Fowl and the Lost Colony, it is said that 10,000 years ago, there were eight families (or species) of fairies. It is possible that Centaurs and Trolls used to live not underground but above ground, and were recruited by the fairies for the war against the Mud People (the term used by fairies to address humans). This would explain the links between many animals these two species have, and would explain why they don't have magic. Centaurs are also cousins of unicorns, so they couldn't be in the fairy family without the unicorns. The fairies, however, are mostly humanoid. Warlocks are also part of the fairy world. They are extremely magical fairies that originate under unknown circumstances.

Soda is a Franco-Belgian comics series by Tome (writing) and Bruno Gazzotti (art). The first two albums and the first eleven pages of the third were drawn by Luc Warnant. It first appeared in the Franco-Belgian comics magazine Spirou on 29 April 1986.

Soda is the nickname of the main character of the series, NYPD Lieutenant David Elliot Hanneth Solomon, who masquerades as a priest for the benefit of his mother's health. In the Finnish version his real name was changed to Patrick Timothy O'Ralley.

Synopsis

The son of the sheriff of the town of Providence, Arizona, David Solomon moved to New York City. Unable to find work he reluctantly joined the police force, but in his letters home he led his parents to believe that he had become a parish priest. This was in order to keep their minds at ease, since they did not want him to get into such a dangerous profession like his father. When his widowed mother Mary moved into his New York flat, David was forced to maintain the deception in fear that the truth would cause her a heart attack.

Soda is a French television series produced by CALT. The series follows Adam, an 18-year-old high school student as he struggles with amusing yet realistic everyday issues. His group of friends are always there to help him through it all.

Features

An episode lasts twenty four minutes, each divided into sequences of three minutes and a half The shooting takes place in Bry-Sur-Marne. Its title, Soda, is the anagram of the word “ados”(teenager in French) ( which is explicitly shown at the beginning of the first credits.)

Adam is a normal teenager, he lives a quiet life in high school (although he never gets good grades), he has two friends, Slimane and Ludovic. He is in love with the most beautiful girl of the high school, Jenna, who will never reciprocate his feelings. He is the oldest child in a middle-class family. His father, Michel, works in a bank and his mother Elizabeth (aka Babeth) is a beautician who has her own home business (her only regular customer is Malika, Slimane’s mother). Dreaming of having a golden life in the US, Adam thinks that this American Dream will fall straight into his hands so he has decided to do whatever he wants with his life, that is, not working in class, playing video-games again and again and doing bad pranks on the high school supervisors (Thierry and Patrick). However, his family compromises his American Dream by being very strict towards him, with his little sister’s bad tricks and by the numerous detentions gets by his high school’s director, Ms Vergneaux.
