At the same time one of the UAE's two major airlines, Emirates, made almost 1 billion dollars and the other, Etihad, is the world's fastest growing airline. So why are they so successful and is there a danger they could be growing too fast for their own good? Reporter: Simon Mars

HD Continental Airlines Houston Hub Now Re-branded Into United Airlines
It's September 15, 2011 and Continental Airlines Houston Hub is now re-branded into United Airlines. To my surprised it doesn't even look that bad and really, I doubt to many people will notice. It looks just like the old Continental. The Globes are all there and the United in Blue matches the Globe. It still looks like Continental to me. This is a change I can live with. I like how the signs also still say Continental Airlines.

Pluna Airlines Commercial - Hub del Sur
Pluna the airlline of Uruguay has a 12 Bombardier CRJ 900 Nextgen fleet. It currently connects the cities of Montevideo and Punta del Este (Uruguay) with destinations in Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Brazil. All 90 seats are fully lined in genuine leather, designed for a comfy and roomy flight. The design of the cabin, with two leather seats on each side of the aisle, grants all passengers an easy access to their seats. Unfortunately Pluna announced today it has to stop it operations. This video is in there honor and hope they restart soon.

First Lady Michelle Obama's "100,000 Strong" China Study Abroad Initiative Event
Transcript from
First Lady Michelle Obama’s Event
at Howard University
Washington, D.C.
January 19, 2011
SIDNEY A. RIBEAU, President, Howard University: Our University takes pride in our historic preparation of students for involvement in the world community. Today we’re building on more than 142 years of commitment to our international connections and working vigorously to ensure that we expand our international footprint so that every, I say, every Howard student has an international experience. [applause & cheering] Let’s hear it for that.
This is one of our institutional priorities and one that we will fulfill. Many of our students have traveled or are studying abroad through programs sponsored by their units and departments. In addition, our Ralph J. Bunche International Affairs Center remains the hub for a variety of academic and public affairs programs.
I am happy to report that last year, 17 of our Howard MBA students spent two weeks studying in China as a part of their global business environment course. This is only one of several programs connecting our student and faculty to their Chinese counterparts.
We want to build on these successes. We are delighted therefore that we are joined today by the Ambassador Chen, the wife of the People’s Republic of China Ambassador to the United States. We at Howard are happy that we can play a small part in helping the President and First Lady host China for this state visit. Ladies and gentlemen please give a warm Howard University welcome to Ambassador Chen [applause & cheering]
CHEN NAIQING, Wife of Chinese Ambassador to the United States: Thank you. Thank you very much. Honorable Michelle Obama, the First Lady. Mr. President Sidney Ribeau, Assistant Secretary Ann Stock, ladies and gentlemen, friends, it’s my great honor to join the first lady and others in today’s panel discussion.
Let me first extend my sincere thanks to the First Lady and Howard University for hosting this important event during President Hu Jintao’s state visit to the United States. It highlights the gratifying progress we have achieved in the cultural and people to people contact between our two nations. It also shows and reassures all of us that the torch of friendship is in good hands and will be handed down to younger generations like you. [applause]
The educational exchanges between China and the United States have a long history. In 1854 the first Chinese student came to Yale University to study. Subsequently quite a large number of Chinese youth followed his footsteps. They later returned to China and became the pioneers and trailblazers in their respective field of studies.
As early as in 1870 Harvard University opened the Chinese course and has since produced many prominent scholars on China studies.
In October 1978, the two countries signed, MOU, on educational exchanges, just before the establishment of formal diplomatic relations.
In December the same year as a result, the first group of 52 Chinese students arrived in Washington, D.C. and educational exchanges began to flourish.
Since then, educational exchanges have grown and made some really remarkable progress.
In 1989, China for the first time became the number one source of foreign students in the United States and has stayed within the top two ever since. In 2010 there will be in total some 127,000 Chinese students in the United States. And the number of American students in China has also been increasing very rapidly. It reached almost 20,000 in 2009. The second largest in foreign students in China. At present we face some great opportunities to bring our educational collaboration to greater depth.
When President Obama visited China in November 2009, he announced the initiative that the United States will send 100,000 students to China in the following four years.
This initiative has been written into the joint statement. In May 2010 the first meeting of China, US high level consultation mechanism for people to people exchanges was held in Beijing.
The two sides launched a series of educational programs.
For example China will send 10,000 students here for doctorate studies in the next four years. And about 10,000 American students will go to China for training courses under the Chinese Bridge program. We look forward to working closely with the United States to make sure that these programs are implemented smoothly as expected and bring our educational exchanges to a higher level. [applause]
Ladies and gentlemen to take forward the 21st Century China - US partnership that features mutual respect and mutual benefit would not be possible without the involvement and support from our people, particularly the young people. I sincerely hope that your experience of studying or working in China will stay with you long after you return home. And you will continue to reach out to China as much as you can. And engage in efforts and deeper understanding and friendship between

Dust & Grooves - a passionate interpretation for vinyl records and photography
Dust & Grooves is a photography and interview project documenting vinyl collectors while digging into their most personal spaces: their record collections. D & G helps preserve the integrity and history of vinyl, as well as the musical heritage that goes along with every record in these collections.
This summer (2012) , Eilon Paz of Dust & Grooves will embark on a two-month, 11,000-mile, 30-interview Americana journey. This cross-country road trip will hit major music heritage hubs like New Orleans, birthplace of Jazz, and Los Angeles, home of the Chicano Punk Rock scene of the ’80s, plus less likely enclaves like Walla Walla, WA. These culture-rich areas will connect D&G; with an expansive variety of music meccas and record fans to reveal lost collections and musical oddities. Professional country music archivists in Nashville, basement-dwelling punks on the outskirts of Omaha, and college town record store owners in the southwest will all be documented by Eilon’s camera. This exciting road trip will capture the spirit of vinyl enthusiasts and the importance of their collections from coast to coast.
Profiles from both the website and road trip will be hand-selected for inclusion in a future book project. Dust & Grooves: The Book will be the culmination of five years of D&G; research and records. Photographs and interviews chosen from the site will be interspersed with an expanded subject pool from the trip covering the secret vinyl goldmines of political figures, athletes, fashion moguls, and everyday Joes. Framed by insightful essays and Q & As, and packed with sharp photography, the book will appeal to a broad spectrum of readers, crossing over from die-hard vinyl enthusiasts to also reach fans of pop culture, portrait photography, creative interviews, and music history.
Dust & Grooves is the only project of its kind that documents vinyl lovers and their collections in this most intimate way. The project will continue to help preserve the integrity of vinyl records as well as the many colorful personalities that collect them. As technology moves forward and many music formats go digital, Dust & Grooves helps keep the rich, warm, analog life of vinyl spinning.
Originally from Israel, Eilon Paz has traveled the world, from Australia to Cuba and Argentina to Ghana, in pursuit of intriguing and memorable subjects. In addition to managing his own photography studio in Tel Aviv for eight years, Eilon has shot for Israel’s top cultural publications and for the acclaimed cookbook The Book of New Israeli Food (Schocken/Random House). Eilon’s work has appeared in worldwide publications such as Wax Poetics, Saveur, Monocle, Conde Nast Traveler, and Delta Airlines Sky magazines, and French music magazine Vibrations. His lifetime of photography experience shines through in his most personal project, Dust & Grooves.

Hub 2012, a new satellite [en]
2012, year of transformation of the airport, will mark the opening of new services, including satellite 4, the new departure lounge at terminal 2E. Representing an investment of 580 million euros for the designer and Aéroports de Paris, satellite 4 will be dedicated to long-haul flights and wide-bodied aircraft and will accommodate up to 7.8 million passengers. This new boarding satellite will enable Air France to concentrate its activities to the east of the hub, in terminals 2E, 2F and 2G. In the long-term, the Paris-Charles de Gaulle hub will be able to accommodate close to 42 million passengers per year (compared with 34 million passengers in 2010).

HD Continental Airlines Newark Hub Re-branded Into United Airlines Rebrand
By request,Continental Airlines Newark Hub re-branded into United Airlines. It looks identical to Houston Hub, and I doubt to many people will notice. It looks just like the old Continental. The Globes are all there and the United in Blue matches the Globe. It still looks like Continental to me. This is a change I can live with. I like how the signs also still say Continental Airlines. This video shows the gates, customer service and the United Club. At least Continental has nice gate podiums to begin with. The cardboard crap at Pre-Merger United looks bad. I wish they spend more money and make the new United at Pre-Merger United look like the Continental Podiums. So with the new United there will be two different kinds of gate podiums. The nice Pre-Merger Continental ones like in Newark and Houston (other CO cities) and cardboard looking United ones which I see more off at Pre-Merger United gates that are now new United.
