LightWave 3D on AmigaONE X1000 with AmigaOS 4.1
This video demonstration shows my favorite classic Amiga creative package, NewTek's LightWave 3D graphics modeling and animation rendering system, running on a new AmigaONE X1000 computer. This is the 5.2 version of the Amiga LightWave, written for a Motorola 680X0 series processor. The computer is from A-Eon Technology and is a PowerPC-based system running on a custom motherboard and a PWRficient PA6T CPU. The operating system is AmigaOS 4.1 Update 5 from Hyperion Entertainment. The video was produced entirely on the X1000, which I will admit was a challenge but nonetheless a lot of fun! (UPDATE: In the comments below I add some details about my screenmode promotions and also tell that I have learned a way to make the wireframe animation preview work. Also in the video I have failed to mention an important step to avoid crashes at render: In Workbench GUI preferences editor, under controls put a check in the box next to "Planar screens on RTG.")

Why use AmigaOS 4 in 2009? - Long cut
Dan Wood shows why he is an Amiga user in 2009, he explains AmigaOS 4.1 (OS4.1 was released in 2009) and some of its features.
PS: I'm not the maker of the video. I've uploaded it with permission from Dan Wood.
This is a cut down version of the video "Why Am I An Amiga User in 2009?", from Dan's blog at http://geeks.pirillo.com/profiles/blogs/why-am-i-an-amiga-user-in-2009

(Dan (the maker of the video) apologises for some camera auto-focus issues, "the display does not look like that".)

Mum tries out AmigaOS Workbench 1.1 (1985)
Moving away from Windows, Mac and Linux once again Diana visits another windows/mac competitor in 1985: Amiga. This noisy system runs of a floppy disc and comes with barely any applications out of the box. She prefers this to a text based operating system but would prefer to use Mac OS System 1 made in 1984.
Tasks Given:
- What time is it?
- Write, save and open a text document
- What's 2856/68
- Change the appearance of the computer
- Change the appearance of the pointer
- Turn off your computer

The mother in this video uses Windows XP (2001) as her main OS. Would you like to see her try out Linux, Mac, Windows, OS/2 or other operating systems through history such as AmigaOS? Then give your suggestions in the comments section. Give this video lots of likes, views, favorites and comments if you want my mum to try out other operating systems. I am open to any operating system suggestions you give especially if these videos go semi-viral (over 100,000 views). This channel is dedicated to me "introducing" people (mum, dad, me) to different operating systems they have never used before and leaving them to suffer in confusion struggling to do anything in an unknown computer environment... or see if these other operating systems are better than Microsoft Windows.

Jack for AmigaOS 4.1 in 2012 for AmigaOne X1000 and AmigaOne 500
Hello,
Official Amiga/AmigaOS website: www.amigaos.net
This video shows Jack for AmigaOS in 2012. Version Jack 3.0 is being shown here (unreleased at time of upload) so you might see a few things that are not yet present in the 2.9.1 release.
1) Shows the new weather interface and configuration options for the display of weather and time options.
2) Shows the App-Store, logging in and rating software as well as the community statistics pages. Finally shows how to access AmigaOS.net from the App-Store.
3) After this we take a look at the 'Get the Most out of your Amiga' segment of the video. In 3.0 there are now over 200 articles on anything and everything useful to Amiga users running the latest AmigaOS.
4) After this we see a quick look at the image slideshow mode available in Jack - from here I enter the image editor and show you some of the options available.
5) Next up I drag an archive file across to Jack and show it being extracted to a destination of choosing - in this case the RAM Disk. Following this I show how an image can be dragged across.
6) I then go on to show the file information button in the File Manager retrieving file information and album artwork from a couple of music files.
7) I demonstrate the newly improved screen capturing button; now you can crop an part of the Workbench screen first before entering the image editor.
8) Access to the Preferences programs is shown.
9) After this I quickly show you the Calculator, WordNet support, how to change your weather location and the currency converter.
10) Finally I click the 'bulb icon' in the Jack window to show you around the website devoted to Jack. (jackforamigaos.wordpress.com)
I hope you enjoy the video, please share and like this video!
Thanks for watching.
