Control Your Emotions (1950) Part 2
This bizarre film is hosted by an unnamed "psychologist." While spouting Pavlovian claptrap such as "Fear is triggered by loud noises" and "Your emotions can be your own greatest enemy," he repeatedly interrupts the story of "Jeff," the film's protagonist. Jeff -- who looks like a heroin addict -- has a lot of trouble controlling his emotions, and the psychologist is always ready to pop in with statements such as "If this kind of behavior is repeated often, it might lead to a permanently warped personality." The original script, on file at the Library of Congress, offers interesting insight into the means by which the film was supposed to work. Most revealing are the character descriptions: "JEFF. About 17. Heavy part. (SYNC) Quick, vivid temper. Hyper-thyroid type, perhaps. Must show rage in face - see script in detail. Should look tall and strong. "ROGER. Perhaps 10-12. Must show fear - heavy, sobbing fear. Playful, mischievous. (SYNC). "MOTHER. 35-40. Must be a little woman to contrast in size with JEFF. On her face we must see fear, anger, and affection. (SYNC) "JOAN. 13-14, Slightly 'brattish' adolescent. Capable of exuberant enthusiasm. Not a major part. (SYNC) "DOCTOR. 40-50, pleasant, narrator type - speaks to camera - white coat." Orhan Pamuk: 2010 National Book Festival
Turkish novelist and scholar Orhan Pamuk appears at the 2010 National Book Festival. Speaker Biography: Orhan Pamuk was born in Istanbul and grew up in a large family similar to those that he describes in his novels "Cevdet Bey and His Sons" and "The Black Book," in the city's wealthy westernized district. As he writes in his autobiographical "Istanbul," from his childhood until the age of 22 he devoted himself largely to painting and dreamed of becoming an artist. After graduating from the secular American Robert College in Istanbul, he studied architecture at Istanbul Technical University for three years, but abandoned the course when he gave up his ambition to become an architect and artist. He went on to graduate in journalism from Istanbul University, but never worked as a journalist. At the age of 23, Pamuk decided to become a novelist and, giving up everything else, retreated into his flat and began to write. Pamuk's books have been translated into 58 languages; and eight of them have been translated from Turkish into English His new book is "The Museum of Innocence" (Knopf). In 2006 Pamuk was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.

Every three years, the Library of Congress must determine if there are any types of works that can be exempt from Section 1201 of copyright law, also known as "Circumvention of Copyright Protection Systems." "it could be appropriate to modify the flat prohibition against the circumvention of effective technological measures that control access to copyrighted materials, in order to ensure that access for lawful purposes is not unjustifiably diminished. Mind Control Mental Photographs of Thoughts not a New Age Phenomena
Mind Control Photographs of Human Thoughts Photography of mental pictures or pictures of mental thoughts is not a new age phenomena. I am surprised that Amy Gutman and Her Experts are so far behind the curve? Photography of thoughts inside the brain was demonstrated as far back as 1967 by an ABC documentary of the phenomena. This video demonstrates how and why mental photographs are possible from a book published in 2007. I can't help but wonder what other scientific achievements we have lost by trying to digitalize all that is known by mankind? There is nothing wrong with digitalization if it is done properly; however, we are losing more information faster than we can dig it up by digitalization due to antiquated software applications. Best Example: According to Bruce R. Rosen MD Ph.D. Professor of Radiology Harvard Medical School an expert in projecting the future of mind control makes a claim that Neuroscience or the study of the brain is the answer and problem solvers to identify someone that is practicing deception, personal profiling, and mind control. He describes a presentation slide "Genetics view of activation inflated surface" as the "raisin back into the grape" or a direct way to visualize what we see by observing an individual brain. Based on his years of academic research, Dr. Rosen raises the possibility we or technically closer to seeing what others are thinking or dreaming. Anatomy of the Human Grey Body Grey Anatomy by G. A Sufi Teaching Story from "The Sun at Midnight" by Laurence Galian
"THE SUN AT MIDNIGHT: THE REVEALED MYSTERIES OF THE AHLUL BAYT SUFIS" by Laurence Galian The world is witnessing what can only be seen as the re-flowering of the essential spirit of Sufism. THE SUN AT MIDNIGHT - THE REVEALED MYSTERIES OF THE AHLUL BAYT SUFIS is a complete transmission of authentic Sufi wisdom, rooted in the spiritual gnosis of the Prophets, Imams and Saints. This is not Sufism impeded by dogma and isolation within regional boundaries. In this book, the author endeavors to pass from his heart to the heart of the reader a fresh and direct experience of contemporary Sufism. "Back in the 1950's and 60's they used to talk about "Beat Zen" vs. "Square Zen". Laurence Galian's Sun at Midnight represents a kind of hip Islam, warmhearted and heretical, opposed to everything monolithic and dour in Islam. If such a thing as american sufism ever appears, this will be one of its holy books." - Peter Lamborn Wilson Galian's task is essentially one of rediscovering lost treasure. He rediscovers the Ahlul Bayt, he rediscovers the feminine at the heart of Islam, he rediscovers the Shadow and in doing so rediscovers what it is to be a real Sufi, Muslim, and Human." - Joseph Gelfer, "Ashé Journal" "THE SUN AT MIDNIGHT: THE REVEALED MYSTERIES OF THE AHLUL BAYT SUFIS" Published by Quiddity, Inc. © 2003 Laurence Galian. Rebecca Stead: 2010 National Book Festival
Author Rebbecca Stead appears at the 2010 National Book Festival. Rebecca Stead has been writing since childhood but became a lawyer before pursuing a professional writing career. She says that "one day, my then-4-year-old son, though fabulous, accidentally pushed my laptop off the dining-room table, and the Very Serious Stories [she had been working on] were gone. Poof. So, it was time to write something new. Something joyful (to cheer me up: I was pretty grouchy about the lost stories). I went to a bookstore and bought an armload of books that I remembered loving as a kid. I read them. I went back to the store and bought more books. I read them. And then I began to write, and I began to love writing. That's when I became a writer." Her first novel was "First Light," which The New York Times reviewed very favorably. Her second and current novel, "When You Reach Me" (Random House Children's Books) received the 2010 Newbery Medal, one of the most prestigious honors in children's literature. Stead lives in New York.

As Dr. Harold C. Ohio Bicentennial Wilderness America Heritage, Delaware County
Ohio celebrated its 200th birthday and pioneer heritage by the Bicentennial Barn Project. In the tradition of the old Mail Pouch signs, which were painted on barns, Ohio's bicentennial logo was painted on one barn in each of Ohio's counties. Scott Hagan, who painted the logos by hand, learned his art from a Mail Pouch painter. The barn and family farm have always been a symbol of the American heartland. Ohio is a true symbol of the American heartland because it was the first state formed from the Northwest territory and it was established at about the same time as the Lewis and Clark Expedition began. This farm may have been in the same family since Ohio began. Its original settlers, Lee Hurlburt and his father, Jacob, arrived in Ohio in about 1803 They moved into an abandoned log cabin in a cleared area on a squatter's abandoned site. The area was a wilderness having panther, wolves, bear, and buffalo. Hurlburt was poor and illiterate and, thus, no writing in his own hand exists to tell of his time in the 1810-1820 period. The history books tell that Lee and his father, Jacob, had settled on his homestead beside Alum Creek before 1812. He then left for the War of 1812 in which he fought for around six months and returned to his homestead. Around 1818, Hurlburt helped Bishop Philander Chase to clear land for what became Kenyon College (although it was built elsewhere). Hurlburt's father purchased a parcel of neighboring land. Jacob and several other members of the ...

Midnight Sun | Iceland
BEST VIEWED IN HD AND FULLSCREEN (with scaling off)
Midnight Sun: A natural phenomenon occurring in the summer months north of the Arctic Circle and south of the Antarctic Circle where the sun never fully sets and remains visible 24 hours a day.
This short time lapse film was shot during the Icelandic Midnight Sun in June of 2011.
For 17 days I travelled solo around the entire island shooting almost 24 hours, sleeping in the car, and eating whenever I had the time. During my days shooting this film I shot 38,000 images, travelled some 2900 miles, and saw some of the most amazing, beautiful, and indescribable landscapes on the planet. Iceland is absolutely one of the most beautiful and unusual places you could ever imagine. Especially during the Midnight Sun when the quality of light hitting the landscape is very unusual, and very spectacular.
Iceland is a landscape photographers paradise and playground, and should be number 1 on every photographers must visit list. Iceland during the Midnight Sun is in sort of a permanent state of sunset. The sun never full sets and travels horizontally across the horizon throughout the night, as can be seen in the opening shot and at the :51 second mark in the video.
During the Arctic summer, sunset was at midnight and sunrise was at 3am. The Arctic summer sun provided 24 hours a day of light, with as much as 6 hours daily of "Golden light". Once the sun had set it wouldn't even get dark enough for the stars to come out, and they don't start to reappear until August.
My advice to everyone out there, photographer or not, is simple... You MUST visit Iceland sometime during your lifetime. You will never regret it.

The V Motion Project
The Motion Project was a collaboration between a lot of clever creative people working together to create a machine that turns motion into music. The client for the project, Frucor (makers of V energy drink), together with their agency Colenso BBDO, kitted-out a warehouse space for this project to grow in and gathered together a group of talented people from a number of creative fields.
http://www.v.co.nz/#the-motion-project
We created and designed the live visual spectacle with a music video being produced from the results. We wanted it to be clear that the technology was real and actually being played live. The interface plays a key role in illustrating the idea of the instrument and we designed it to highlight the audio being controlled by the dancer. Design elements like real time tracking and samples being drawn on as they are played all add to authenticity of the performance. The visuals are all created live and the music video is essentially a real document of the night.

THE ARMY OF LUCK, OR THE GLOBAL PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS
The Maneki Neko (jap., literally Beckoning Cat; aka Lucky Cat, Money Cat) is a common Japanese figurine which is believed to bring luck, attract customers and bring prosperity. The Lucky Cat waves with the raised left paw and holds a historic coin in front of itself with the right one. The Lucky Cat as talisman and selling product is wide-spread in Asia and meanwhile almost all over the world.
Luck is associated here with monetary and material prosperity.
For tourists the Lucky Cat became a kind of pop style Manga character which appears in growing numbers in western private households. As kitschy-petite like exotic souvenir it refers to a certain idea of western lifestyle.
The material element of the installation»The Global Pursuit of Happiness, or: The Army of Luck« is the »Lucky Cats' Matrix«. It contains 520 shiny golden XXL Lucky Cats made of plastics which are arranged in 40 rows and 13 columns on a ramp-like stand made of aluminum (W 8 m, H 3 m, D 2 m).
Visitors experience the Lucky Cats' Matrix as a dot-matrix display which consists of 520 waving paw grid points as its »pixels«. In each cat a servomotor is built in to control the paws move exactly in position and speed.
The visitors are requested imaginarily by the cats to interact as users: "Your concept of happiness is our lucky command. Write it on the keyboard".
Words and sentences up to 40 characters can be put in and are displayed clearly visible with the paws letter by letter as sliding text marquee. So to say, the users »choreograph« the Lucky Cats performance wordwise. Literally it is the »inscription« of an idea of happiness or a wish in the Lucky Cats' bodies by moving their paws forward and backward.
For users, the Lucky Cats become multiplied »avatars« in the world of chance and happiness. But the Lucky Cats are also able to perform spontaneously as well: they can show 25 different salutatory and signalizing gestures as well as mass movements like the »Mexican Wave« or an ecstatic »hyperkinesis«. Every displayed sentence triggers audio events – sound samples of mass or group events, like entertainment shows, political speeches, demonstrations, sport events, parades, accidents, etc. from the beginning of the last century until today. The sounds express auditorily different states of mind, like joy, euphoria, desire, fear, hate, aggression and resignation, astonishment, outrage, pain, panic, desperation and fanatical excitement. The sounds are played in random order and unpredictable combinations. Different contexts and changing settings are emerging.
Are the Lucky Cats »one-armed bandits«? Or is it a gesture in the context of a political or religious movement? Is it a just a happy waving of the fun-loving, hedonistic society? Or is the assembly of Lucky Cats a revolutionary deployment of »wish machines« as »army of luck« or is it just another marketing campaign?
The lined up, gold-reflecting mass of the Lucky Cats in the matrix appears almost as an insubstantially copy-paste-animation. The Lucky Cats in the matrix as an industrial made product become an »ornament of the masses« for repetetive-stererotype and globalized-industrialized ideals. Nocturnal - Scenes of the Southern Night, Western Australia and Chile.
This is a selection of nightscape scenes I put together for entry into the 2012 David Malin Awards. The awards are for images of the night sky and landscape captured by Australian astrophotographers.
I am very happy and honoured to report that this video won 1st prize in the ‘animation’ category at the 2012 awards.
A number of interesting sky and space phenomena are included in the clip:
1. Comet Lovejoy.
2. Exploding Meteor and Train.
3. A Total Lunar eclipse from start to finish.
4. Multi coloured air glow in the upper atmosphere and ionosphere.
5. Lightning storms.
The images were shot over the last 2 years. I’d like to thanks the following people/groups for helping bring some of these scenes to life:
1. Thomas Bethell – Little Bramper (1st and last scene)
2. Dynamic Perception – Dolly and MX2 controller
3. David Gargadennec - 5 camera rig and camera assistant (Bungle Bungles scene 1:19).
4. Stephen Van Vuuren for supporting the multi-day/night timelapse effort (behind the scenes rig shot 0:34)
This is a preview of a larger project I’m working on documenting night scenes from the southern hemisphere – principally in Western Australia and Chile. Why there? Well I live in the former and work on and off in the latter, so that is where I spend most of my free time.
Also included at 1:19 is a panoramic timelapse using 5 cameras configured to capture a 360 x 195 degree view of the sky. The technique is still experimental, with some work still to do to eliminate processing artifacts. Aside from those issues, the output is a beautifully sharp 8k print.
Hope you enjoy.

A Good Book About American Immigration and History
Paper & Stone, A Leighton History in England & the United States by Hélène Hinson Staley; Co-researcher: Robert Allen DeVries, Ph.D. quality paperback. 540 pages. Description: FOUR BRITISH FORGEMEN IMMIGRATED to United States in the midst of the Industrial Revolution leaving behind with their children and grandchildren trails of Paper & Stone, A Leighton History in England & the United States. THESE FOUR SONS OF Richard and Diana Maybury Leighton of Shropshire, England fashioned their lives around aspirations, which came under the direct study of two researchers Hélène Hinson Staley and Robert Allen DeVries. Isaac in 1851, John in 1856, William around 1858 and Thomas about 1865 traveled from the United Kingdom over the ocean to North America. Later their journeys took them to New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, West Virginia, Michigan and Ohio looking for the perfect place to work and raise families -- to find their fortunes and adventures. Clues they left are like breadcrumbs in the grass. We are like birds flocking to preserve their experiences herein. THE EXISTENCE OF THE Leighton surname is additionally traced to the time of William the Conqueror after the Battle of Hastings in 1066. Chapter III discusses those Leightons in England's earliest records and sheds light on Beriah Botfield's compilation Stemmata Botevilliana, which was published in 1858 and contains the earliest Leightons. Perhaps you carry the Leighton surname and wish to learn more of those you ...

Rather it was the Deliverer and Miracle Worker - about Whom Revelation 4:11 says "Thou art worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory, and honor, and power: because thou hast created all things; and for thy will they were, and have been created." - Who betrayed the apostles (including himself) by allowing the twin axis of evil (the chief priests who were acting in concert with the Roman imperialists on the one hand and "Diabolos" on the other) to triumph! www.Spiritrestoration.org (the largest Christian ecumenical website): In the same way that CS Lewis wrote Screwtape Letters, Joseph Luguya attempts to describe the spiritual realm from a human perspective. Luguya has a very scholarly form just like Lewis...The Devil teaches almost more than the Christian. It is a very convicting book. Legalization vs Repeal (Control vs Freedom)
What is better legalization or repealing the unconstitutional law that has filled our prisons with nonviolent cannabis users? The prohibition against marijuana was unconstitutional from its inception. Legalization seems to limit the public's ability to be self sufficient and sustainable. We can repeal any laws and make them null and void so things will be like when George Washington grew Cannabis, except we have technology to help make things more efficient than ever! Take action, even if you only send an email. Why is controlling and limiting our ability to grow cannabis more popular than repealing the law to make it null and void so we are free to grow as many plants as we want? Stop supporting corrupt mainstream or alternative media that ignore and censor truth! I want to be able to grow my own food, medicine, clean energy/fuel, fiber without being bullied by corrupt authorities just to stay in line with the "collective" by growing a limited amount of plants! Why is anyone wanting to limit a plant safer than drinking water? Some of us are tired of poisonous high energy prices and want to grow safe hemp for food, energy/fuel, fiber, medicine, hempcrete and so much more! www.tokeofthetown.com Thomas Jefferson was a hemp farmer. There are documents in Library of Congress where George Washington states that he liked sitting on the back porch smoking a pipe of hemp. In early Colonial times people could pay their taxes with hemp! Rudolph Diesel who made the diesel engine to ...
