Be Still My Soul with Lyrics Hymn עדיין הנפש שלי
Be Still My Soul performed by The Choir Of Paisley Abbey from the album, Be Still My Soul- The Ultimate Hymns Collection. Taken from the Finlandia Hymn (in Finnish Finlandia-hymni) refers to a serene hymn-like section of the patriotic symphonic poem Finlandia, written in 1899 and 1900 by the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius. It was later re-worked by the composer into a stand-alone piece. Other words commonly sung to the same melody include six Christian hymns (Be Still, My Soul, I Sought the Lord, and Afterward I Knew, We Rest on Thee, A Christian Home, and This Is My Song, I then shall live), Gweddi dros Gymru or A Prayer for Wales (a national song of Wales), Ambrosian Oaks (alma mater of St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa), and Land of the Rising Sun (national anthem of the short-lived African state of Biafra).

Paisley Abbey Choir - Hymns & Anthems
'By cool Siloam'; 'Do no sinful action'; 'God be in my head', Kenneth McKellar. Dir.: George McPhee The Abbey is unique in many respects. It was the cradle of the Stewart Dynasty. Robert, the second grandson of Robert the Bruce, was born on the premises. His mother, Princess Marjorie fell off her horse when coming to the Abbey to pray for the safe delivery of the child. She was brought to the Abbey and found to be dead. By a posthumous operation, the child was delivered and lived to be the first of the Stewart Kings. In 1807 a musician and composer well known in Scotland, RA Smith was in charge of the music at the Abbey. Thorough his talents, the Abbey Band and choir became famous throughout the country. A feature of the Abbey choir has been the Boy's Choir. Joining the Paisley Abbey Choir is Kenneth McKeller who has been called "Scotland's greatest tenor". The Boys' Choir was reformed at the beginning of the 20th century, robed in the red cassocks and white surplices which the choir still wears. In the mid 1990s, a girls' choir was formed and, in 2000, the girls' choir and boys' choir were amalgamated to form 'the choristers'. At the present time, there are some 20 choristers comprising 14 boys and 6 girls.

East Window And Communion Table Paisley Abbey Renfrewshire Scotland
Tour Scotland video of the communion table and the Great East stained glass window in the Abbey on visit to Paisley, Scotland. This window depicts the ascended Christ by the stained glass artist, Dr. Robert Douglas Strachan, born 26th May 1875, died in Aberdeen in 1950. He was considered the most significant Scottish designer of stained glass windows in the 20th Century. Schooled at Robert Gordon's, he studied art at Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen, at the Life School of the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh, and the Royal Academy in London. From 1895 to 1897 Strachan worked in Manchester as a black and white artist on several newspapers, and as a political cartoonist for the Manchester Evening Chronicle, until ill health forced him to return to Aberdeen. Although Strachan was interested in Futurism, Cubism, and Vorticism, his work shows little influence of this. Strachan often composed his windows in areas of pure colour which were then defined by areas of silvery white. His largest commission was to design the windows for the Scottish National War Memorial in Edinburgh Castle.

King's Singers - Paisley Abbey Choir Trailer
The King's Singers are a Grammy award-winning, world-renowned ensemble known for their captivating live performances, impeccable vocal blend, and utter perfection in every aspect of their music. Once performers at the Winter Olympics, their arrangements are now sung by amateur and professional ensembles all over the world. Paisley Abbey, parish church to the Church of Scotland, has a long and internationally recognized choral tradition. King's Singers St. Luke Concert & Christmas in Rosslyn Chapel give audiences the chance to experience these brilliant vocalists spin their seasonal magic in two Christmas concerts in one night! The Paisley Abbey Choir's Christmas concert was presented at Rosslyn Chapel (recognizable from Dan Brown's blockbuster The Da Vinci Code) on the outskirts of Scotlandʼs capital city of Edinburgh. It features a selection of Christmas carols as well as arrangements for the bagpipes, harp and oboe. The King's Singers January 2011 concert was captured at the stylishly distinctive Jerwood Hall in LSO St. Luke's, London. Their program features the perfect blend of traditional and modern Christmas classics, such as Joy To The World, Deck the Halls, Lullaby My Liking, and even some international favorites including Nöel Nouvelet and El niño querido. There truly is a little bit of something for everyone to enjoy.
