The Producers - Two Tribes live (Trevor Horn, Stephen Lipson, Lol Créme, Ash Soan)
So this is a bit special. We were filming The Producers - a supergroup comprising of Trevor Horn, Lol Créme, Stephen Lipson and Ash Soan - when discussion turned to Frankie Goes To Hollywood's immortal Two Tribes, specifically whether Mark O'Toole of the band played the full, extremely difficult bassline live or not. And then, these incredible men who have made some of the greatest pop records of all time, played Two Tribes - the record they originally produced, engineered and played on. And here it is. Blimey. The Producers - Made In Basing Street is out on June 25. PS. That's Julian Hinton on keyboard.

The Producers - Garden of Flowers live (Trevor Horn, Stephen Lipson, Lol Créme, Ash Soan)
Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Art of Noise, taTu, Godley & Crème, 10CC, ABC, Buggles, Slave To The Rhythm by Grace Jones... why are we listing amazing bands and records? Because The Producers made those amazing records by those amazing bands. And now they're a band themselves. The Producers are Trevor Horn, Lol Créme, Stephen Lipson and Ash Soan. Between them they've had over 200 hit singles and albums. Together they hoped to become the most over qualified pub band in the world, playing to relieve the tension of working in the studio. But now The Producers has become a whole lot more than that, and their debut album Made In Basing Street is a celebration of the sounds and musicianship that made them some of the most successful names in the business. We filmed them playing, semi unplugged in a room at the legendary Sarm West Studios. It's a bit special. After this they played Two Tribes. Yes really. And we filmed that too. The Producers - Made In Basing Street is released on June 25. PS. That's Kirsten Joy on backing vocals and Julian Hinton on keyboard.

Paranoimia (feat. Max Headroom) - Art Of Noise
Groovy! Paranoimia is a single released by the group Art Of Noise in 1986, featuring the television character Max Headroom on vocals. The single reached number 12 in the UK Singles Chart in June of that year. The original version of the track (without Max Headroom) features on the album In Visible Silence. Some later issues of the CD include the single version in place of the original. Art of Noise (also The Art of Noise) was an avant-garde synthpop group formed in 1983 by producer Trevor Horn, music journalist Paul Morley, and session musicians/studio hands Anne Dudley, JJ Jeczalik, and Gary Langan. The group's mostly instrumental compositions were novel melodic sound collages based on digital sampler technology, which was new at the time. Inspired by turn-of-the-century revolutions in music, the Art of Noise were initially packaged as a faceless anti- or non-group, blurring the distinction between the art and its creators. The band is noted for innovative use of electronics and computers in pop music and particularly for innovative use of sampling. The name of the group alludes to the essay The Art of Noises by noted futurist Luigi Russolo. From the earliest releases on ZTT, the band referred to themselves as both Art of Noise and The Art of Noise. Official and unofficial releases and press material use both versions.
