Agile Testing
Google Tech Talks December 9, 2005 Elisabeth Hendrickson ABSTRACT As more teams are adopting Agile practices such as XP and Scrum, software testing teams are being asked to become "Agile" as well. But what does that mean? Is the Agile label yet another buzzword? Or could it be Agile practices are actually changing the way software is built? In this talk Elisabeth Hendrickson shares her perspective on how test teams can be more Agile based on her experiences working as a tester on Agile teams. Along the way, she'll provide an overview of how Agile practices differ from traditional practices and discuss what those differences mean for independent test teams. Clifford Stoll: The call to learn
www.ted.com Clifford Stoll could talk about the atmosphere of Jupiter. Or hunting KGB hackers. Or Klein bottles, computers in classrooms, the future. But he's not going to. Which is fine, because it would be criminal to confine a man with interests as multifarious as Stoll's to give a talk on any one topic. Instead, he simply captivates his audience with a wildly energetic sprinkling of anecdotes, observations, asides -- and even a science experiment. After all, by his own definition, he's a scientist "Once I do something, I want to do something else."

Agile Technology with Lives at Stake: InSTEDD in Haiti & Beyond
Google Tech Talk June 30, 2010 ABSTRACT Presented by Eduardo Jezierski and Eric Rasmussen. InSTEDD, a Google.org Grantee, deployed to the Port au Prince airfield with a team from AlertNet just hours after the Haitian earthquake. Over the following days, a first-of-its-kind system was created that integrated technologies from more than a dozen partners. The system allowed Haitians to use their cell phones to both summon life-saving help and to receive critical information about relief efforts. From new portable satellite data antennas to plain RSS feeds, all sorts of technologies came into play to help the humans have a more effective response during Search and Rescue missions. Come and see the technologies that were used, how they were created from requirements in disaster response and public health, and how they incorporate innovations from field teams during and between disasters. We'll discuss what we needed to build and why, where it is now, where it's going, and what we need from you.

The OMCOPTER gives wings to the Red Epic
The world’s best camera learns how to fly:
The Omcopter gives wings to the Red Epic.
Berlin, October 10th, 2011
Today, in a European first, Berlin based OMSTUDIOS introduced a powerful new drone that enables filmmakers to combine the performance of the world’s finest digital camera, the RED Epic, with the versatility of an octocopter. In doing so, the OMCOPTER opens up a whole new world of cinematic possibilities, as well as drastically lowering the costs of production.
Since its release in September 2011, the RED Epic has become known as the pinnacle of digital camera design. With a resolution of 5K, a dynamic range of up to 18 stops and a high-tech processor enabling up to 300 frames per second, the RED Epic is without a doubt the world’s most advanced camera. Not only among camera connoisseurs, but also among the largest, big-budget Hollywood productions — the Epic has established itself as the definite standard. Directing legends such as Ridley Scott, Peter Jackson and James Cameron are utilizing this state-of-the-art technology for their current feature films “Prometheus”, “The Hobbit” and “Avatar 2”, by placing dozens of orders.
The all-new OMCOPTER raises the RED Epic to lofty heights without the limitations of a crane or the prohibitive costs and space requirements of an actual helicopter. As an intuitively remote-controlled drone, the OMCOPTER makes the capture of spectacular shots at the highest quality possible, and at a fraction of the previous costs.
The OMCOPTER is ready for take-off in just 15 minutes and can reach heights of up to 150 meters. The reach of the drone is dependent on the range of sight of the operator, usually up to 100 meters. The OMCOPTER is also usable in close quarters and its extreme agility makes it very adaptable.

The Ozone Fazer: Precision Piloting
Ozone Team Pilots Dave Edwards and Malachi Templeton testing out their new 14m Fazers in New Zealand**. The Fazer is Ozone's newest Speed-Riding and Speed-Flying canopy, designed for modern speed pilots who need a level of precision and stability that was unavailable until now.
We are excited about this new wing and hope that you agree it is an ideal choice for high-speed on snow Speed-Riding, and also for summer foot launched flights (according to the site and your experience level). The maneuvers shown in this clip demonstrate the excellent agility, precision, stability, and energy retention (flare power and brake range) of the Fazer. For more info, please check out the Fazer info page at http://www.flyozone.com/speed/en/products/gliders/fazer/info/
**18-25kmh wind, and pilot weights between 75kg and 85kg.
Cheers from all the Team!
