Please remember to visit shreddedsociety.com *. Note.... 1960 on the Pye Label this one, hmm, seems only like yesterday. Except it all happened before I was born, nice quiet number Beyond the sunset, from Lonnie Donnigan the other side to Virgin Mary. This record was damaged and so is not to our usual standard of recovery. Not that you may notice but...

His greatest hit: take 2 / Wounded John Scott Cree -- Pye records 45 rpm single, 1978)
Inspired by Neil Sedaka's ability to re-invent himself so successfully. Re-recorded to Pye's prescription, with strings in March 1978. Wounded John Scott Cree (vocals, acoustic guitar, handclaps), Geoff Whitehorn (guitar). Alan James (bass), Lance Dixon (Fender Rhodes), Pete Kircher (drums). Despite some good reviews and making "Record of the week" on Radio Forth, it sold a total of 88 copies (none in Edinburgh!). Love the irony with that title. Also appeared on the LP "Wivabandon Oneezone" (Pye Records, 1979). Violins: Julian Gaillard, G. Palmer, D. McConnell, D. Moody, L. Rossi, L. Clay. Viola: W. Jones, G. Scott. Cello: Robin Firman, Denis Vigay. String arrangement by Mike Bailey. Produced by Tony Atkins who also provided handclaps.

Johnny Wakelin & The Kinshasa Band - Bang The Drum
This was the B-side to Johnny's "Black Superman" single. Johnny Wakelin is a British recording artist. He originally was a club singer with no huge success, until record producer Robin Blanchflower, the man who launched Carl Douglas to the top of the charts with "Kung Fu Fighting", signed Johnny on Pye Records, the record label known for such acts as Lonnie Donegan, Petula Clark, The Searchers, The Kinks, Sandie Shaw, and Brotherhood of Man. He had a hit with his homage to Muhammad Ali called "Black Superman", which also inspired a comic book with Superman vs. Muhammad Ali. He had a second hit with "In Zaire". So, enjoy this neat record.

Mickey Pye Band BTS
Shot on Day 1 of tracking Mick's new album between 2 locations. While I realise footage was cut with very little additional scenes, grabbing any extra footage was a bonus as I was more focused on getting the job done for the recording.
Nonetheless, this BTS was shot with a Canon 7D, Zeiss ZF 50mm 1.4, Tokina 11-16mm, Tripod and the beautiful & compact Zacuto fast draw rig. Run & Gun dirty style!
Only practical lighting was available. Minimal grade using Red Giant software for colour correction. Pretty happy considering extremely low light conditions in both studios.
Double system sound recorded to a zoom H4N and synced with Singular Software's PluralEyes.
Bed & guide tracks recorded and mixed on a Protools HD system for the purposes of this cut and not the final product, except for "I Got The Feeling".
A special thank you to folks who actually get back to me or reply when enquiring about various products. Your assistance and continued support is most appreciated.

Harry Rag by The Values
The Values have recorded a cover of a Kinks song. Harry Rag is their entry in a special competition in which the winner gets to meet Ray and Mick from The Kinks. Harry Rag originally appeared on the LP Something Else by The Kinks. Julian Wakeling made this new arrangement of the song. The voice at the intro is provided by Jock Scot. Mikey Georgeson is the main singer. Paul Speare performs the penny whistle on this track all the other instruments are played by Julian. Harry Pye sings the backing vocals. The video was made by Team Beswick & Pye. Harry Wragg was a famous jockey whose name became cockney rhyming slang for a cigarette.

Red Rum's Song 1979 Filmed at Aintree Racecourse Liverpool
Red Rum's Song, a tribute to the great race horse Red Rum, recorded at Strawberry Studios, Stockport, Manchester. Performed by Chris Swann, Trevor James, Robin & Cheryl. I am the producer of the record, and it was released on Pye Records in 1979. The song contains the original BBC radio commentary of Red Rum's third Grand National victory, by the late Peter Bromley. This is home movie footage I filmed of the singers of the song meeting Red Rum at Aintree racecourse for a press & TV call. Red Rum's trainer Ginger McCain, a very nice guy, arranged the day especially for us and brought "Rummy" to Aintree for the occasion. Although it was originally thought he would race that year, he never did.
