Kryptic Minds - Hybrid [Biome Remix]
So here it is. The awaited remix of Kryptic Mind's Hybrid by Biome. I've personally been anticipating since Youngsta had mentioned it on Twitter about a month ago and have been keen to hear it since. He didn't play it on his subsequent shows and started his old skool mixes but finally, for his birthday special show finally delivered. Absolute percy if there ever was one. My Biome Song
Terrestrial Biomes of the World song. Here is a video I created for my 6th grade science students to help them study.I hope you enjoy. I'm coming home To my Biome Tell the world there's six main Biomes Some are dry and others rain, some have trees and others plain I know my kingdom awaits with plants and animals and lakes I'm coming home, to my Biome Tell the World that I'm coming I'm back where I belong Yeah, in my own Biome I fell like this climate is just right And if you with me put your hands high If you ever lost your way before. This one's for you I hear the call of the Macaw I love their song The Rainforest is hot and sticky on the floor It's gonna rain again at dawn Another Boa, Capybara, Jaguar, and Gibbon With the Canopy, Understory, and Forest Floor It's got a lot of stuff, and it's near the equator What if they keep knockin' down all the palms How do I respond? What if we move around to a much different zone? The deserts can be icy, sandy, or from stone Hey, nothing seems to be growing But at night it gets cold to the bone Another day another dawn Just tell Africa and Asia no rain in the morn' Another hot and dry day gone I need to get back to the place I belong I'm coming home To my Biome Tell the world there's six main Biomes Some are dry and others rain, some have trees and others plain I know my kingdom awaits with plants and animals and lakes I'm coming home, to my Biome Tell the World that I'm coming... home Hey yo, check this out The Taiga's a Biome ...

LA Auto Show 2010 Design Challenge - Mercedes-Benz Biome
The Biome: The Mercedes-Benz Biome is an ultralight vehicle that utilizes technologies from nature to achieve unparalleled efficiency and seamless integration into the ecosystem. Mercedes-Benz Symbiosis: Mercedes-Benz Symbiosis is a system in which the vehicle becomes part of the ecosystem like the leaves of a tree. Symbiosis vehicles collect energy from the sun and store it in chemical bonds, in the form of a fluid called BioNectar4534. Mercedes has also developed technology to retrofit trees with receptors which can harvest their excess solar energy into BN4534. This creates an incentive to plant more trees and collect more energy, while also helping the ecosystem. The vehicle can be composted after its lifespan is complete or used as building material.

Evolution Desert Biome
The desert biome is characterized by low precipitation, a high rate of evaporation (seven to fifty times as much as precipitation), and a wide daily range in temperature. The dramatic temperature fluctuations are the result of low humidity, which allows up to 90 percent of solar radiation to penetrate the atmosphere and heat the ground during the day, then for this accumulated heat to be released back into the atmosphere at night. Precipitation in deserts, unlike other biomes, is highly irregular. In the Sonoran Desert, rain usually comes in short, sporadic clusters of rainy days three to fifteen times a year. On average, only one to six of these rainfalls is large enough to stimulate plant growth. Thus, Sonoran plants experience long periods of inactivity broken by periods of rapid growth and reproduction.

2010 Mercedes-Benz Biome Concept
PLEASE SUBSCRIBE TO THIS CHANNEL: www.youtube.com Thanks! At the 2010 Los Angeles Design Challenge, the designers from the Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design Studios in Carlsbad, California, surprised everyone with a revolutionary vision. Taking their inspiration from nature, they designed a vehicle which is fully integrated into the ecosystem, from the moment of its creation right through to the end of its service life. The Mercedes-Benz BIOME Concept grows in a completely organic environment from seeds sown in a nursery. Out on the road the car emits pure oxygen, and at the end of its lifespan it can be simply composted or used as building material. "As the inventor of the motor car, we wanted to illustrate the vision of the perfect vehicle of the future, which is created and functions in complete symbiosis with nature. The Mercedes-Benz BIOME Concept is a natural technology hybrid, and forms part of our earth's ecosystem. It grows and thrives like the leaves on a tree" according to Hubert Lee, Head of the Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design Studios in Carlsbad. This year the competition had called for the creation of a vision of a safe and comfortable 2+2 compact car featuring good handling and a first-class design, and weighing only 1000 lbs (around 454 kg/kerb weight). Mercedes-Benz symbiosis - a partnership with nature The Mercedes-Benz BIOME Concept symbiosis vehicle is made from an ultralight material called BioFibre and tips the scales at just 875.5 lbs (around 394 kg ...

Purchase DVD here www.greatpacificmedia.com Segment from the program: Terrestrial Biomes: Deserts, Grasslands, and Forests. DVD Description Our Terrestrial Biomes DVD starts by introducing the four requirements of life - nutrients, energy, liquid water and temperatures appropriate for carrying out life processes and then goes on to explain the factors such as latitude, proximity to oceans, and elevation, that affect climate. Climates relationship to the type of vegetation found in a biome is then explained before introducing students to the major terrestrial biomes including tropical rainforests, temperate rainforests, deciduous forests, savannas, grasslands, chaparrals, taiga, tundra and deserts. DEUS EX HOMINE - San Francisco 3D Moco Time-lapse by Golden Gate 3D (GG3D)
This was a stereoscopic 3D motion-controlled (moco) time-lapse test for an upcoming Golden Gate 3D (GG3D) http://gg3d.com project. Ideally, it should be viewed in S3D.
View it in 3D at YouTube 3D: http://youtu.be/0quUxvXtHPw
You can select from various anaglyph (colored glasses) and stereo modes.
NVIDIA has chosen "Deus Ex Homine" as "Best 3D Video of 2011": http://www.3dvisionlive.com/content/best-3d-video-2011
If you have NVIDIA 3D Vision, you can also view at NVIDIA's 3D Vision Live, which offers a higher quality stream than YouTube: http://www.3dvisionlive.com/3d_video/deus-ex-homine-san-francisco-3d-moco-time-lapse
"Deus Ex Homine" comes from Latin meaning "god built by humans." That "god" might be the tools - our machines and technologies, the city - our caves of concrete and steel, and the networks - the highways and waterways that are the lifeblood of our cities. With our technology, we conquered and reshaped the natural world. As we have overrun our planet's surface, more and more of us live in the fantastically complex artificial biomes that are our cities. Modern societies and economies depend on these constructs. Bridges and servers connect us, cars and planes move us, farms and restaurants feed us, and cargo ships and oil tankers make it all possible. The "Makers" among us forge machines - electromechanical gods - that reshape and govern humanity. Automobiles. Typewriters. Computers. The Robot Maker creates machines in our image, striving to infuse them with intelligence, emotion, and sentience. Perhaps some day they will surpass us. They already have in many ways. Perhaps we will re-engineer ourselves, integrating man and machine. Deus ex homine (deus?).
Brad Kremer and Stewart Mayer of camBLOCK flew out for three days of shooting at the end of March. It rained the entire time they were in town so we were confined to interiors, which turned out to be a bit of a blessing in disguise since those shots turned out to be some of the more impressive ones in 3D. After the weather cleared, I shot for an additional nine days around San Francisco with assistance from Simon Christen, Noah Hawthorne, Christopher Fuzi, Robert Mooring, Josh Golz, and Paul Leeming.
Canon 5D Mark II's were used in both parallel and beamsplitter configurations for true, native stereo capture at 5.6K resolution RAW. The camBLOCK and Dynamic Perception were used for motion control. There were some major technical hurdles with both capture and post, but once we saw the results in 3D, it was well worth it.
Special thanks to Jeremy Mayer, Cisco Systems, Gather Restaurant, San Francisco Flower & Garden Show, The Millennium Tower, The Port of Oakland, and the San Francisco Film Commission for giving us access to some great locations and subjects on short notice.

Jeremy Mayer - Typewriter Sculptor
http://jeremymayer.com
http://twitter.com/JeremyMayer
Jeremy Mayer on Bust V (Grandfather): "The initial inspiration for the piece was that I wanted to create a self-portrait in my old age, so it's based on me, my dad, and my grandfather. I wanted to say something about aging, transition (particularly transition into new technology), and the place of the personal mechanical machine in modern society, all without making the piece look too 'robotic'. A lot of the sculpture I've done over the years has been ideal human figures: youthful, athletic, and kind of sexy. With this one I wanted to create a face that was more aged and worn, the face of a person who was tired, maybe a little forlorn and weary, but proud and dignified even after a life lived with a lot of difficulty and pain. With all of the news about the closing of the world's last manual typewriter assembly line, Godrej in India, and all of the buzz about typewriters in popular culture, I sense a great deal of nervousness in general about the advance of technology and what that means for people who are unwilling or unable to move on to the next step. I feel like this piece speaks of that worry in many ways."

Terrarium - Interactive Installation
Terrarium is an interactive, sonic ecosystem whose source of energy comes from the sounds people make interacting with the work. The sounds of the participants voices come into the world via the sound vents. These sounds are too raw for the environment so they are sucked in by the Seed Spitters who process the sounds to more manageable particles which are then expelled into the environment. These processed sound particles help spawn and sustain life within the ecosystem, providing food for the fish in the water and creating frequency sensitive plants on the land. The voice also triggers changes to the Pattern Bush who adapts the shapes of its leaves to the sounds it hears.

Learn Biology: Biomes and Communities Definition
Check out Bas Rutten's Liver Shot on MMA Surge: bit.ly Mahalo biology expert Mary Poffenroth explains the difference between a biome and a community. The areas of the earth may be divided up into large areas with similar attributes (biomes) and smaller areas (communities). A community may be named for the most prominent vegetation in the area, or derive its name from the biome in which it is set. Biomes are categorized by climate, as well as plant and animal life. There are two types of biomes: terrestrial, or dry land areas, and aquatic, or water-covered areas.www.youtube.com Terrestrial Biomes --------------------------------------------------------------------- Terrestrial biomes of dry land range from the very hot desert to the extremely cold tundra, not to mention tropical rainforests, savannahs, deciduous forests, coniferous forests and grassland among other areas. These biomes are classified by determining their location, the amount of sunlight they receive, climate, temperature, soil and its nutrients, and water availability.www.youtube.com Aquatic Biomes --------------------------------------------------------------------- Aquatic biomes are affected by how much sunlight they receive. For example, very little sunlight or none at all can reach the bottom of the ocean. This allows for further division of the water environments. They may be photic (sunlit) or aphotic (little to no sunlight reaches the area).www.youtube.com will affect the vegetation and the ...
