Life in Mesozoic Times
www.tmwmedia.com See an excerpt from this fascinating and informative title in the Physical Geography II series, from TMW Media. Explore the major life forms, which lived during the Mesozoic Era, the time span from 245 million years ago to 65 million years ago. At the beginning of the Mesozoic Era, the major landmasses were joined together into a supercontinent called Pangaea so animals could easily move from place to place. Temperatures were much warmer than they are today and even the ice caps at the north and south poles were absent. In this environment life flourished and we saw the development of huge, reptile-like animals such as the dinosaurs. Life during Mesozoic times also occurred in the oceans and new plant forms, including flowering plants began to spread across the earth. About 65 million years ago most of the larger dinosaurs vanished and this program discusses why this "extinction event" took place.

Charmer - Mesozoic Mind (1987) from "Dinosaurs! - A Fun Fill Trip Back In Time"
Music Video from the educational video, "Dinosaurs! - A Fun Fill Trip Back In Time" released in 1980, then re-released in 1987 with more material. The full video is currently played at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. Charmer is the band in this video portrayed as Dinosaurs in a 80's styles "Rock" Band. I believe this video and it's music to be public domain. A Mesozoic Mess
Max's mother is only days into a trip to Barcelona when Max learns that an Allosaurus has appeared in the city. The D-Team heads to Spain to catch the dinosaur and save Max's mother. They arrive just in time to find Max's mother cornered by the dinosaur in a city marketplace. Max rescues his mother but finds it difficult to corner the speedy dinosaur in the twisting streets of the city. Finally, the team wraps Ace in a red cloak and draw it into a historic bullfight ring, where they will attempt to capture it matador style.

Mesozoic Monsters: King of the dinosaurs
Second episode Dinosaurs Tyrannosaurus rex Edmontosaurus annectens Torosaurus latus Triceratops horridus Dromaeosaurus sp. Nanotyrannus lancensis Pachycephalosaurus wyomingensis Important 1. In my opinion Torosaurus is own genus. 2. Don't write T.rex is scavenger. According to recent research tyrannosaurs couldn't survive if were pure scavengers. 3. I know Dromaeosaurus lived mainly in Campanian. However some remains are found in Maastrichtian. I don't own music. Credits to RaptorSpinoRex, MrGorsh and JPOGfreak for skins, Evilrex for terrain and Andres for mod.

Mesozoic Monsters: The Asian King
6th (and last) episode Dinosaurs: Tarbosaurus bataar Charonosaurus jiayinensis Tarchia gigantea Unidentified dromaeosaur Gallimimus bullatus Important: 1. Charonosaurus was discovered in China, however it probably lived in Mongolia too. 2. Name Dromeasaur doesn't mean Dromaeosaurus, but Dromeaosaurid. Velociraptor wasn't in this episode, because it lived in Campanian. Probably this Mongolian dromaesaur, which lived in Maastrichtian could be Adasaurus, but i still have debate. Credits to RaptorSpinoRex for Tarbosaurus and primeval rex sounds, EvilRex for terrain, AndresTCII for mod and BBC's DinosaurWorld for wind sound.

The dinosaur exhibit "Messages from the Mesozoic" open at VMNH through September 18, 2010
The dinosaur exhibit "Messages from the Mesozoic" is open at the Virginia Museum of Natural History now through September 18, 2010. The exhibit allows visitors to learn about many different types of fossils, how fossils are formed, and where they are found. Visitors learn that despite all the rich, paleontological discoveries that have been made in what is now Virginia, including dinosaur tracks and fossils of other Triassic creatures, no one has ever found an actual fossilized dinosaur body part in the Commonwealth. Life-size casts of dinosaurs dominate the exhibit, which includes a 40-foot long skeleton cast of an Acrocanthosaurus, a massive carnivorous theropod dinosaur that existed in what is now North America during the early Cretaceous period, between 125 million and 100 million years ago. The exhibit also includes a 12-foot long skeleton cast of a Deinonychus, a carnivorous dromaeosaurid dinosaur. Dromaeosauridae were small-to medium-sized feathered carnivores that flourished during the early Cretaceous period, about 115 to 108 million years ago. Other specimens and models include a Tenontosaurus skeleton cast, a Syntarsus with prey, a phytosaur, and more.

Mesozoic Monsters: The perfect jurassic killer
This is series about predatory dinosaurs and their environment, prey etc. Dinosaurs: Allosaurus fragilis Allosaurus tendagurensis (picture only) Allosaurus europaeus (picture only) Ceratosaurus nasicornis Camarasaurus supremus Brachiosaurus altithorax Torvosaurus tanneri (Acrocanthosaurus model, it is just skin) Stegosaurus armatus(in Background) Dryosaurus altus Important: 1. Some people claim that Allosaurus fragilis couldn't be 40 ft However according to recent research Epanterias (which measured 12.1 m in length) could be large A.fragilis or another Allosaurus species. Recently Allosaurus Maximus probably was just own genus (Saurophaganax). 2. I know A.tendagurensis and A.europaeus are uncertain Allosaurus species. 3. Some people think that Torvosaurus would win, because it could be way bigger in their opinion. I used Acrocanthosaurus as Torvo (which is bigger than Allo), because it is the best model. However American Torvosaurus (9-11 m) was a bit smaller than the largest Allosaurus (AMNH 5767). Sorry for my english. I'm from Poland. Credits to RSR for Ceratosaurus and Brachiosaurus skins and AdressTCII for mod.
