TV9 - Disappointed Jayalalithaa to move SC over Cauvery water sharing : "Cauvery Kadana" - 4..! Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa on Wednesday said that the crucial talks over the issue of sharing water from River Cauvery have failed, and added that she will again approach the Supreme Court to seek justice. The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) chief alleged that Karnataka was not willing to release water for her state. Jayalalithaa said that the ruling by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the issue was unacceptable to her. Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa alleged that Karnataka was not willing to release water for Tamil Nadu. "We are totally disappointed with the meeting with the Prime Minister on Cauvery issue," she said. Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh chaired the much-awaited meeting of the Cauvery River Authority (CRA) for the first time in nine years to discuss the demand made by Tamil Nadu for releasing more water by Karnataka. The meeting was attended by the Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Puducherry. It comes after a demand by Jayalalithaa that a meeting of the CRA should be convened to discuss the state's water problem. Set up in 1997, the CRA met for the first time after the Congress-led UPA came to power in 2004. The last meeting was held in February 2003, when Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the Prime Minister.
