Dubai is a city and emirate in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The emirate is located south of the Persian Gulf on the Arabian Peninsula and has the largest population with the second-largest land territory by area of all the emirates, after Abu Dhabi. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are the only two emirates to have veto power over critical matters of national importance in the country's legislature. Dubai City is located on the emirate's northern coastline. My 20 Tips on Flying an Airbus A380 (in no particular order) #1 Book early and go online and select your seat. Keep in mind that you cannot lean your head against windows (and sleep). #2 Carry an empty plastic bottle and ask the crew to fill it up with water. To land fresh you must drink a lot of water and the small glasses that serve you are not enough and you'll end up pissing the crew off by constantly asking for water. Ideally start hydrating a week before your trip! #3 As you plan your trip, start working out or walking 30 mins a day... in other words, the fitter you are the less of a strain upon arrival. #4 Remember, you are going to have a long line at the Immigration counters with over 450 passengers on this plane. And add to the number of bags that you'll find on the belt, its going to take some time to get out - so if you have connecting flights make sure its at least 3-5 hours in hand to catch that flight. #5 Always ask for special meals. Those meals come first and you will be done before the folks next to you get their food. You wont be jousting elbows over that piece of respective chicken. Plus, the food is piping hot. #6 If its a all day flight, try get a little nap but if its an overnight flight, try getting sleep by popping a pill. Maybe a over the counter sleeping aid. #7 Dont ...

He broached conspiracy theories, urged investigations of US military activities and took aim at the structure and the actions of the Security Council, in a one-hour and 36-minute speech at the UN General Assembly's annual session. Gadhafi was one of several leaders, including President Obama, addressing the assembly Wednesday. Gadhafi called for world unity in confronting various world crises, such as climate change and food shortages, but he aimed his ire at the world body and the United States. Dressed in a traditional Libyan cap and robe, he elaborated on what he believes is the unfairness of the structure of the UN Security Council, which has five permanent members: the United States, Russia, China, France and Britain, each with veto power. "No one is objecting to the preamble [of the UN charter], but everything that came after that is contradiction of the preamble," he said through an interpreter. "The preamble says the nations are equal whether they are small or big. Are we equal in permanent seats? No, we're not equals." Video Montage: Urban Tranquility - Abu Dhabi, UAE (Canon EOS 7D)
Hi guys, this is my first personal video project. I'm a Filipino from Cagayan de Oro City, currently working in Abu dhabi. First time with video shooting and pretty lucky its with the Canon EOS 7D. I never had a video camera of my own before until now. I'm still trying to learn this thing thru good ol' self-learning and getting inspiration from a lot of people all over the internet. But oh well, there is a first time for everything I guess. Please don't be too harsh on the critiques! hehe.
All shots done in abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Using up 2 separate mornings and one cold afternoon for video timelapse. I also tried to shoot when there was nobody around, like early morning or when everybody else is working and in the office. Even tho I have a lot of things in mind, I was not able to really stay long out there and shoot. I have a very busy schedule and very little free time.
All shots using Canon EOS 7D.
LENSES
Canon EF 24-70 f/2.8 L USM
Nikon AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 D
(I just wish I had at least a fluid head, a Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 coz 24mm on 7D is not very wide; because of 1.6x crop factor on Canon, and if somebody would let me borrow a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM for a few days, that would be great! -oOo-Shameless plug-oOo-)
Editing was in Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. Very n00b Color grading done in Adobe After Effects CS4, preparation of EOS 7D Videos using MPEG Streamclip for windows.
System used was an average laptop called HP Pavilion DV6. It has intel Core 2 Duo P800 2.53GHz but still very slow to render and convert Full HD 1080p. It's "slowness" frustrating. But it still gets the job done, it just needs a little more time tho.

A project that started in January 2011 and completed shooting on May 2011. My goal was simply to explore and look for interesting unique sceneries around the UAE, and capture it's beauty with time-lapse photography. Winter season plays a big part of my journey, as it's the best time to chase visible fluffy clouds with a true blue sky that only exist to the human eye at this time of the year.
I took around 300,000 images and traveled some 4000kms going around the cities of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Al Ain, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. I ended up going more than once on few locations which mostly I searched the coordinates online. There's some tiny little setbacks like wrong coordinates, clouds disappearance, being turned down to take photos (after a 2 hour drive), miscalculated driving time, sets of glowing eyes in the mountain, some wild animal noise in the dark (well it's not really a hindrance, but it is abit alarming) and few unnecessary technical issues, which is typically part of trying out and learning something new :)
The whole trip was very exhausting and time consuming, but it's all worth it in the end. I've seen so many beautiful places here in the UAE, plus I enjoyed all the long drives as well as being close to nature and far away from city for awhile. I'm hoping to find more time and discover new places and capture it again on video :)
