Sad!!- Ten People Dead In Bomb Explosion At Ministry Of Finance, Jalingo, Taraba State
An explosion has been reported in Jalingo, capital of Taraba State. The incident occurred near government offices in the city. Parts of the finance ministry were affected by the explosion. The explosion which occurred about 9 am appeared to have been targeted at the convoy of the state's Commissioner of Police. Ibiang Mbasike, the spokesperson for the Police in Taraba has confirmed the attacks. Three police officers are reported to have died in the explosion, which happened barely 24 hours after another bomb blast in Bayero University Kano. Many have been seriously injured as the attacks come during the early morning rush hour. It is unclear if the Commissioner of Police, Usman Gwary, was killed in the blasts, but the suicide bomber, a dispatch rider and at least eight others have been confirmed dead. Meanwhile another bomb was this morning detected and successfully defused in Yola, the capital of neighbouring Adamawa state while reports reaching us indicate that there may have been at least two other bomb blasts, one in Gombe, the capital of Gombe state, the other in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.

Nigeria has declared war against HIV/AIDS
Gombe state in northeastern Nigeria is one of the hardest hit by the disease. In this context, the Nigerian Youth Service Corp, formed in 1973, and who require all higher education graduates throughout Nigeria to commit to one year of community service upon completion of their courses have been focused since 2003 in partnership with UNICEF on combating HIV and Aids. Corps members volunteer for the HIV/AIDS programme, received undergo 6 days of intensive training in prevention, care and support. They have been hard at work throughout Gombe, but it is in classrooms that their impact is the greatest. We teach them what HIV and Aids means, then we teach them how this virus is transmitted and we also teach them how to avoid getting infected. We also teach life skills and promote abstinence as the best way to avoid infection. As a result there have been no recorded schoolgirl pregnancies in Gombe state this year Ngozi Nkiruka NYSCs member. Each year some 200 volunteer corps members become Peer Education Trainers, each given the mandate to train at least 40 other young people to become trainers themselves. In this way, 8000 new trainers annually are ready to reach out statewide. said BRIGADIER GENERAL YUSUF BOMOI, Director General of NYSC . Gombe Bomb Explosion-4 Policemen Killed
Police Authority on thursday confirmed that gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram have attacked three banks and a police station in ashaka, gombe state, killing four policemen including a divisional police officer. Reports say the suspected Boko Haram gunmen on wednesday evening attacked banks, police stations and shops in Ashaka around 8p.m. the attacks, which lasted for one hour, caused a stampede as residents fled to safety. The gunmen were reported to have had a free rein, shooting and detonating explosives. Explosions and gunfire were also reported in Gaidam and Potiskum in Yobe state as well as some areas in Borno state close to Nigeria's border with Chad at about the same time.

A baby girl identified as Nafisat, born with many legs and imperforated anus in Borno State needs your help. According to medical experts, baby Nafisat needs N1million for corrective surgery for her to remain alive. Baby Nafisat was born to the Ahmed family in Bayo LGA of Borno state on the 18th of June, 2012. The family's joy quickly turned to sorrow as they witnessed many abnormalities surrounding her birth. A surgeon at the Federal Medical Centre in Gombe states Nafisat needs intensive surgery to keep her alive. Unfortunately, her parents have no means of paying for this expensive surgery. They're calling on Nigerians especially the first lady of the state to come to her rescue. Nafisat is currently in the Special Baby Unit at Gombe Federal Medical Centre and she is struggling with imperforated anus and other abnormalities. Dr Adamu Madugu, the Medical Director of the Federal Medical Center, Gombe, said the baby stands the risk of dying if the surgery is not carried out immediately. "Nafisat was referred to the Federal Medical Centre, Gombe, and has been admitted in the Special Baby Care Unit with a case of imperforated anus and multiple abnormalities." "The patient has to undergo a series of surgery in order to correct various enormities." Baby Nafisat is currently living on different medical gadgets and she needs N1 million for important corrective surgery.
