Corn Detasseling Song (An Original Song by Rachel Laderoute)
This song is dedicated to all those people who have ever detasseled corn before. LYRICS: It's 5 am Any other day I'd be sleeping in Except today because there's something I have to do And I've been loathing it Ever since last summer But now my nightmare is finally Coming true I packed my lunch the night before Get my waterbottles out of the freezer drawer Pack in my sandwich, icepacks, and juiceboxes Get on some grubby dirty clothes And with a few last grunts and moans I head out the door Chorus: To the bus stop I take attendance Get on the bus and Go to a corn field Pick tassles all day oh Pick tassles until I wanna die And then I go home Go to bed at 10 Wake up the next day And do it all again I put on sun screen I put on bug spray I put on the super sexy glasses for my safety I put on gloves So my hands won't blister I put on a hat and some old gross socks And I head out the door I try to bargain I'll just quit one week early This slave labour is ruining my health Show mom my blisters Tells me I'm learning Responsibility and building character My mom is laughing And she takes a picture Continues laughing While she drives us there She plays Christian music And all I'm thinking Is why the heck would God make me do this? Chorus Ipod headphones in one ear Corn ears in another I'm dying from heat stroke That I swear I think I'm going to faint It's 100 degrees There are no trees to shade me Just the corn And when the day is done And I get out of the sun My happiness will be ...

Hands Free Detasseling Milliken Farms 2010
Detasseling Pioneer seed corn. Running an Oxbo ts1 detasseling unit with a Miller Nitro running Trimble integrated RTK. Uploaded the fields off of the planter and it was spot on once we got the offset dialed in. Not to tough when it drives itself and goes up and down by itself.

Hagie Detasseling Corn with Tactile Guided Steering - No GPS
Detasseling Corn with steering guided by tactile sensors. The tactile sensors read distance from the plants and the PSR system guides the detasseler to stay inside of the row. One pair of sensors is mounted in front of each front wheel. No GPS is used. The system is a Reichhardt Ultra Guidance PSR using a hydraulic valve and tactile sensors. www.GetPSR.com www.Reichhardt.com

Detasseling 2009- Cutting
Detasseling Pioneer seed corn. We are Running a Nitro 2220 with a 12 row Oxbo TS1. In this video we are cutting. This is the first step in the process, we are taking off the first couple inches of foliage to allow the tassel to grow out of the leaves. This allows us to pull more tassels cleaner when we come back in 2-3 days later. Sorry that all of the videos are in the cab, but thats where i LIVED this year so i didnt get many chances to get anything outside.
