Just IMAGINE A World Of Beautiful Rainbows With... Miss Mellie Rainbow Miss Mellie Rainbow helps children connect to their imagination through reading, storytelling, writing, art, and singing. Children also learn quiet meditation with movement as they travel the world through music based in native traditions. Miss Mellie Rainbow explores living in a world of rainbows where it is safe for children to share, be kind to each other and respectful to the world around them, including the trees, flowers, butterflies, dolphins, and all the people of the Earth. She encourages reading aloud through storybook theatre sessions which allows children to develop stronger phonetic awareness For more than two years, Miss Mellie Rainbow was the resident storyteller at Barnes & Noble Lincoln Triangle in New York City where she created magical interactive singalong storytimes for babies, toddlers, and school aged children. She is a teaching artist for Museum for African Art; performs at children's birthday parties, and was recently a featured artist for the Children's Festival during Harlem Week . Miss Mellie Rainbow has created rainbows of storytelling, and craft programs throughout the Brooklyn Public Library, and the New York Public Library Systems. She has also performed and/or conducted storytelling workshops for Carnegie Libraries of Pittsburgh, Odyssey House, Aha Learning, Hue-Man Bookstore, the Reading Team and the Henry Street Settlement.
