lie awake in bed at night
and think about your life
do you want to be different?
try to let go of the truth
the battles of your youth
'cause this is just a game
it's a beautiful lie
it's a perfect denial
such a beautiful lie to believe in
so beautiful, beautiful lie
makes me
its time to forget about the past
to wash away what happened last
hide behind an empty face
don't ask too much the same
'cause this is just a game
it's a beautiful lie
it's a perfect denial
such a beautiful lie to believe in
so beautiful, beautiful lie
makes me
lie ... beautiful ... ohhhhh
everyone's looking at me
i'm running 'round in circles (plagued with)
a quiet desperation's building higher
i've got to remember this is just a game
so beautiful, beautiful
it's a beautiful lie (x4)
it's a beautiful lie
it's a perfect denial
such a beautiful lie to believe in
so beautiful, beautiful lie makes me
Day after day
All this fooling around
Spins me out
Wears me down
Sometimes I feel
Like I'm waiting to drown
I play my part
But I've got nothing to say
Maybe one day
I could be there with you
A beautiful lie
A beautiful lie, this life,
A beautiful lie
Where will you find yourself?
Hey now, I know
You've got your hands on the floor
A sinking ship
Made of fragile glass
But if you could fly
Like you're drawn to the light
Will you burn?
Will you shine?
Maybe one day
I will be there with you
A beautiful lie
A beautiful lie, this life,
A beautiful lie
Where will you find yourself?
I can break it with you
I can do this with you
You've got to be yourself
Their questions
Concerns that I'll never learn
You all left here too fast
And I'd never look past this divine sight of seeing your eyes
He'll keep watching you, Sally
She'll wait 6 months so gladly
They just wanted this to be inside
This is a beautiful lie that pulls you aside
And whispers all that we tried hard to hide
Tonight we'll be sitting so high
That no morning deadline could expire our grand time
It's getting so cold that she wonders why
Fall whisked you so away
I can't point out exactly if your thumb is pushing the right way
He'll keep watching you, Sally
She'll wait six months so gladly
They just wanted this to be special
A kaleidoscope of changing hues
A lighter room that we can use
And if I said I knew it all
Then tape this conversation to your wall

A Beautiful Lie is the second album by American rock band 30 Seconds to Mars. It was released on August 30, 2005 through Virgin Records and was produced by Josh Abraham. The album produced four singles, "Attack," "The Kill," "From Yesterday," and "A Beautiful Lie"; of which three of those four singles managed to chart within the top 30 on the U.S. Modern Rock chart, with "The Kill" and "From Yesterday" entering the top three.
A Beautiful Lie differs notably from the band's self-titled debut album, both musically and lyrically. Whereas the eponymous concept album's lyrics focus on human struggle and astronomical themes,[10] A Beautiful Lie's lyrics are "personal and less cerebral." And the music, while previously atmospheric, takes on a youthful, more post-hardcore approach by introducing intense screamed vocals and deemphasizing synth effects.

A Beautiful Lie was recorded on four different continents in five different countries over a three-year period to accommodate lead singer Jared Leto's acting career. The album's title track, as well as three other songs, were composed in Cape Town, South Africa, where Leto was later met by his bandmates to work on the tracks. It was during this time that Leto conceived the album's title.[11] Prior to this, the album was tentatively to be released under the title The Battle of One. It was leaked onto peer-to-peer file sharing networks almost five months before its scheduled release; the version of the album that leaked was unmastered. Because of this, the band was forced to set back the album's release date.[10]
To promote A Beautiful Lie, 30 Seconds to Mars included the songs "The Battle of One" and "Hunter" (originally performed by Björk) as bonus tracks. "Golden passes" were also included with three of the special versions of the album that entitled the buyer free entrance and backstage access to any 30 Seconds to Mars show for the rest of their formation.
A Beautiful Lie sold 21,000 copies in its first week of release in the U.S. and has gone on to sell more than 1.2 million copies in the US alone.[12]
On November 26, 2006 a special edition of A Beautiful Lie was released and features different artwork, a third bonus track (all versions have at least two); the UK version of the song "The Kill" entitled "The Kill (Rebirth)," and a DVD that features the music video for "The Kill", the making of the video for "The Kill," live performances and MTV2 moments involving the band.
Before production of the Deluxe Edition, the band requested that the members of the "Echelon" send in their names so that they could be thanked for their support over the years. As a result, the inside cover(s) of the Deluxe Edition contain a large list of printed fan names. In addition to this, the front cover contains a holographic image consisting of the Mithra (phoenix) and the Trinity (skulls).
A Beautiful Lie was re-released in 2007, following extensive touring throughout Europe, in an attempt to expose themselves to a larger audience. The re-release is essentially the same as the original release, although includes different artwork. The album was re-released in Ireland again in November 2007, the version contains the UK version of "The Kill" and a second bonus track, and an acoustic version of the song "A Beautiful Lie" recorded live on a radio session.
All songs written and composed by Jared Leto, except "Savior", "From Yesterday" and "The Battle of One" by 30 Seconds to Mars.

Cosmo Klein (born Marcus Klein on November 1, 1978 in Lippstadt) is a German singer and songwriter.
Contents |
Cosmo Klein was born in Lippstadt but raised in Dortmund, Germany. At the age of ten he and his parents moved to Texas, where he expanded his interest in music and started playing the guitar. Three years later the family returned home after the end of his father's deployment in El Paso.
Back in Germany Cosmo decided to leave school before his highschool graduation, instead founding his own event agency Smartcorehotel. By a fortunate coincidence he was introduced to singer Sasha, who engaged Klein to write for his second album and helped him to sign a contract with Warner Music.
As a result Comso released his bilingual debut album This Is My Time in 2003. The CD spawned three singles, including the radio hits "All I Ever Need" and "Baby Don't Cry". Afterwards he teamed up with newcomer Maya Saban for their duet "Das Alles Ändert Nichts Daran". The song managed to peak at number 11 on the German singles charts and became Kleins biggest chart success to date.
After months of writing and recording Klein's second album, Human (originally planned to be released in January 2006) was finally released in August 2006. So far, the album has spwaned two singles with "Nothing to Lose", and "I Love You".
