Creative Classrooms Visual Arts Program, New York.
Visit us on www.Light-House-Films.com. Creative Classrooms Visual Arts Program Promotional / fundraising video, New York, 2010. Since 1997 the Creative Classrooms Visual Arts Program (CCVAP) has promoted art and literacy in inner-city Catholic elementary schools. Administered by the Patrons Program which brings educational enrichment opportunities to selected schools, CCVAP fosters learning and creativity. It introduces students to the arts and engages them in creating, reflecting, discussing and writing about art. The program is not a mere add-on to classroom subjects. It is a powerful learning tool that provides students with visual, tactile, and aesthetic experiences that encourage hands-on learning and critical thinking. Consisting of five components, CCVAP includes everything from art instruction to teacher training to museum visits. CCVAP reaches over 10995 inner-city students attending Catholic elementary schools in the Bronx, Manhattan, and Staten Island. Its schools are 35% non-Catholic and 93% minority. Seventy percent of the students come from families living at or below the federal poverty level and over half are from single parent households. One hundred percent of Catholic elementary school students go on to high school, 99% of those who attend Catholic high schools graduate, and 92% of those go on to higher education. Tuition at approximately $3000 per child is the main source of revenue in the Archdiocese elementary schools. Robust art and music programs ...

YouTube Visual Arts- Time to Mobilize in #awesome2012!
WE NEED A VISUAL ARTS CATEGORY ON YOUTUBE Petition- www.change.org - For the first time in history, artists from around the world are communicating with each other and learning from each other. - We can not only see each others work but often, we can see how the work was made. - The master artists of this generation are exhibiting their work on youtube right now. - This is unprecedented in history. Artists of the past have their work exhibited in museums and museums have overflowed with generations of masterpieces. Our generation has YouTube. Yes, it is a museum. Think about it. Even major museums are exhibiting on YouTube right now. The current generation of artists has more expressive possibilities of artistic media than generations of the past, and I think that we have carried on arts rich tradition. Here are 20 examples of what I consider to be, Master art work. Click on any of the annotated links and they will open in a new tab. But does YouTube fully understand the scope of what its created? That question will be answered in time. But as of right now there is no category specifically for visual artists. The closest three categories are howto and style, education and film and animation. Howto and style is dominated by make up tutorials, workout videos and fashion tips. The Education category does not mention the visual arts and that is especially scary in a time when so many schools have totally eliminated the arts from their curriculums. Film and animation is the ...

The goal of giving form to a complex situation like the credit crisis is to quickly supply the essence of the situation to those unfamiliar and uninitiated. This project was completed as part of my thesis work in the Media Design Program, a graduate studio at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.

A Short Animation Inspired by the Works of İlhan Koman
Plato Art Space is proud to present Candaş Şişman’s video dedicated to famous sculptor İlhan Koman produced for the exhibition İlhan Koman: Hulda Festival, a Journey into Art and Science opening on the 22nd September, 2010.
İlhan Koman’s unique design approach in his form studies also inspires contemporary art works. The video installation Flux by young artist Candaş Şişman can be defined as a digital animation which is inspired from the structural features of some of İlhan Koman’s works like Pi, 3D Moebius, Whirlpool and To Infinity... A red circle, which is colored in reference to the red radiators of Ogre, is traced in a morphological transformation which re-interprets the formal approach of Koman’s works. The continuous movement sometimes connotes the formal characteristics of Pi, 3D Moebius, Whirlpool and To Infinity..., as well as the original formal interpretations of the design principles of the works . In Flux, Koman’s design process in the making of the Pi series has been treated as the emerging of a sphere from a two-dimensional circle by the principle of increasing the surface; and that simple direction is re-interpreted in digital medium. Thanks to this, in the digital animation an entirely different form serial that does not resemble Pi yet remaining its design principle can be followed through the flow of a circle to the sphere. As a conscious attitude of the artist, this work is not designed in a direct visual analogy with Koman’s works. During the animation, none of the moments of the transforming form look like Pi or 3D Moebius, however the subjective reading of Koman’s approach can be observed.
With the integration of the sounds of various materials – which Koman used in his sculptures – Flux turns into an impressive spatial experience. Flux, also exemplifies that Koman’s work can be re-interpreted by the analysis and manipulation of form in the digital medium.

"How it would be, if a house was dreaming"
The conception of this project consistently derives from its underlying architecture - the theoretic conception and visual pattern of the Hamburg Kunsthalle. The Basic idea of narration was to dissolve and break through the strict architecture of O. M. Ungers "Galerie der Gegenwart". Resultant permeabilty of the solid facade uncovers different interpretations of conception, geometry and aesthetics expressed through graphics and movement. A situation of reflexivity evolves - describing the constitution and spacious perception of this location by means of the building itself.

Merrill Kazanjians Video on this topic: www.youtube.com Merrill's channel www.youtube.com Forum Post www.google.com If you decide to make a vlog, post it as a video response to my video AND also do the same to Merrills original video. We need to get a large audience backing this up. Here at youtube, there is no visual arts category. This leaves thousands of art videos with no home. They are scattered across multiple categories like howto and style, entertainment, film and animation, and education. With this massive separation in the visual artists, many of the artists dont know one another. If we can build up a gathering and get more people to help respond, we can make something happen. We need to get the art community together. Art is what adds color to the world.

Visual Arts by German Jews with Disabilities: Welfare Agency Exhibition in Frankfurt's Atelier
The Jewish presence in Germany goes back more than 800 years, and in 1951 the Welfare Agency for Jews in Germany was founded to provide assistance to Jews in need and care for the elderly, children and youth. In 2012, here at the Atelier East End, in downtown Frankfurt, the Welfare Agency for Jews in Germany offers a visual arts program for young Jewish people with disabilities, in association with Internationaler Bund -- a leading German non-profit social service agency. Through ceramics, painting and drawing the visual arts program at the Atelier East End focuses on art creation while building the independent living skills of observation, concentration, and decision-making. The art work is promoted through exhibitions in galleries, the money obtained from sales is used to fund the activities in the Atelier. When you make art in relation to your disability, you are practicing control over an experience that may be otherwise difficult to accept. This active response is empowering as it increases your sense of control, and provides a realization that you have a choice in how you relate to your disability. Having choices is empowering. The power of the arts lay in their ability to help people express and explore. Jewish immigrants from the former Soviet Union are now the largest client group of the Welfare Agency for Jews in Germany and their needs are not only financial support, the Agency helps them also with German language classes.
