האירגון הסוציאליסטי בישראל, שנוסד ב-1962 ונודע בשם ביטאונו "מצפן", היה אירגון מהפכני שראה בציונות מפעל קולוניזאטורי, חתר לחיים משותפים של ערבים ויהודים המבוססים על שוויון מלא, תמך במימוש זכויותיהם הלאומיות והאנושיות של הפלסטינים, וקרא לפתור את הבעיות האזוריות – הלאומיות והחברתיות – במאבק להפלת כל המשטרים באזור ולהקמת מזרח-ערבי מאוחד וסוציאליסטי. לצד המשטרים הקפיטליסטיים הגדיר "מצפן" כאויבי המהפכה הסוציאליסטית גם את משטרי הדיכוי הביורוקרטיים של ברית המועצות ושאר מדינות הגוש המזרחי. מאז מלחמת יוני 1967 קרא "מצפן" לנסיגה מלאה, מיידית ובלתי מותנית של ישראל מכל השטחים שכבשה, ותמך בזכותו של העם הפלסטיני להיאבק למען חירותו.באתר זה אנחנו מעלים בהדרגה את כל החומר שהוציא מצפן לאור מאז הקמתו: מאמרים, כרוזים, גילויי דעת וכו'.

The Socialist Organization in Israel, founded in 1962 and known by the name of its journal "Matzpen" (Hebrew for "Compass"), was a revolutionary organization that viewed Zionism as a colonizing project, and strove for Arab–Jewish coexistence, based on full equality.
Matzpen supported implementation of the Palestinians' human and national rights, and called for solving the region's national and social problems through struggle for overthrowing all the region's existing regimes, and creating a united socialist Arab East.
Matzpen considered as enemies of the socialist revolution not only the capitalist regimes but also the repressive bureaucratic regimes of the USSR and the Eastern Bloc.
Since the June 1967 war, Matzpen called for full, immediate and unconditional withdrawal of Israel from all the territories it occupied in that war, and supported the right of the Palestinian people to struggle for liberation.

المنظمة الاشتراكية في اسرائيل التي تأسست عام 1962 وعرفت باسم صحيفتها "ماتسبين" وهي المرادف العبري لكلمة "بوصلة" كانت منظمة ثورية اعتبرت الصهيونية مشروعا كولونياليا كما انها سعت وناضلت في سبيل حياة مشتركة للعرب واليهود على أساس المساواة الكاملة بينهما.
متسبين أيّدت الحقوق القومية والانسانية للفلسطينيين ونادت بحل جميع المشاكل الاقليمية سواء كانت قومية ام اجتماعية وذلك عن طريق النضال من أجل اسقاط جميع الانظمة في المنطقة واقامة مشرق عربي موحد واشتراكي.
لقد اعتبرت متسبين ان الانظمة القمعية البيروقراطية في الاتحاد السوفييتي وبقية دول المعسكر الشرقي الى جانب الانظمة الرأسمالية تشكل عدوا للثورة الاشتراكية.
ومنذ حرب حزيران/يونيو 1967 دعت متسبين للانسحاب الاسرائيلي الكامل والفوري غير المشروط من جميع ما احتلته من أراض كما أنها أيدت حق الشعب الفلسطيني في النضال من أجل حريته.
