Beginning in the Middle Ages, a squire was the shield- or armour-bearer of a knight. At times, squires acted as a knight’s errand runner or servant. Use of the term evolved over time. Initially, squires were a knight’s trainees/apprentices. Later, a village leader or a lord of the manor might be called a squire, and still later, the term applied to key public figures, such as justices of the peace or members of parliament. In contemporary American usage, squire is the title given to justices of the peace or similar local dignitaries.
Squire is a shortened version of the word 'esquire', from the Old French escuier (modern French écuyer), itself derived from the Late Latin scutarius (“shield bearer”), in medieval or Old English a scutifer. The Classical Latin equivalent was armiger, “arms bearer”.
The most common definition of “squire” refers to the Middle Ages. A squire was typically a teenaged boy, training to become a knight. A boy became a squire at the age of 14 or 15. Squires were the second step to becoming a knight, after first having served as a page. Boys served a knight as an attendant or shield carrier, doing simple but important tasks such as saddling a horse or caring for the knight’s weapons and armour. The squire would sometimes carry the knight’s flag into battle with his master.
Curtis Knight (May 9, 1929 – November 29, 1999), born Mont Curtis McNear, was an American musician who is known for his connection to Jimi Hendrix.
Knight was an artist in the 1960s Harlem music scene, usually fronting his own band, the Squires. This band gigged in clubs in New York City, and other surrounding areas. It was through Knight that Hendrix got involved with Ed Chalpin, a record producer who signed the future superstar to a contract which Hendrix soon forgot about and left for England to form the Jimi Hendrix Experience.

James Marshall "Jimi" Hendrix (born Johnny Allen Hendrix; November 27, 1942 – September 18, 1970) was an American rock guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Although his mainstream career spanned only four years, he is widely regarded as one of the most influential electric guitarists in the history of popular music; and one of the most celebrated musicians of the 20th century. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame describes him as "arguably the greatest instrumentalist in the history of rock music".
Born in Seattle, Washington, Hendrix began playing guitar at the age of 15. In 1961, he enlisted in the US Army and trained as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division; he was granted an honorable discharge the following year. Soon afterward, he moved to Clarksville, Tennessee, and began playing gigs on the chitlin' circuit, earning a place in the Isley Brothers' backing band and later with Little Richard, with whom he continued to work through mid-1965. He then played with Curtis Knight and the Squires before moving to England in late 1966 after being discovered by Linda Keith, who in turn interested bassist Chas Chandler of the Animals in becoming his first manager. Within months, Hendrix had earned three UK top ten hits with the Jimi Hendrix Experience: "Hey Joe", "Purple Haze" and "The Wind Cries Mary". He achieved fame in the US after his performance at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967, and in 1968 his third and final studio album, Electric Ladyland, reached number one in the US; it was Hendrix's most commercially successful release and his first and only number one album. The world's highest-paid performer, he headlined the Woodstock Festival in 1969 and the Isle of Wight Festival in 1970 before his accidental death from barbiturate-related asphyxia on September 18, 1970, at the age of 27.

Never satisfied, though, Virgil decides that he will once again try to fill the emptiness that exists within him, and so creates a trio of deformed, living dolls to systematically murder any and all people who have ever wronged him. What Virgil doesn't anticipate, though, is meeting his match and finding love, both of which come in the form of a woman who is even more evil and twisted than he is.

A run out to Squires Biker Cafe Bar, in Sherburn-in-Elmet, on the RT and a further test of using multiple GoPro cameras - this time three of them. Then near the end of this video, a complete idiot driver tries to block me from filtering past after following dangerously closely behind another biker and then stamps on his brakes right in front of me. So I give him a piece of my mind! Need to look into the sound on this FCPX multicam video edit as it strangely seems to be phasing the sound in and out even though I asked it to use sound only from the front facing camera. Let me know if you know why this might be. Thank you very much for watching my video on GadgetsandWheels. If you liked it, please don't forget to subscribe for more in the future.

Chris Squire of Yes talks about meeting Jimi Hendrix, how an accidental billing allowed him to play in front of some of the biggest names in music. Part of the EMP|SFM Oral History Live! series, Yes was interviewed live in JBL Theater by EMP|SFM Curator Jacob McMurray. http://www.empsfm.org/oralhistory
The whistling gypsy came over the hill,
Down to the valley so shady,
He whistled and he sang till the green woods rang,
And he won the heart of a lady.
Ah de doo, ah de doo dah day,
Ah de doo, ah de day dee,
He whistled and he sang till the green woods rang,
And he won the heart of a lady.
She left her father's castle gates,
She left her own fond lover,
She left her servants and her estate
To follow the gypsy rover
Ah de doo, ah de doo dah day,
Ah de doo, ah de day dee,
He whistled and he sang till the green woods rang,
And he won the heart of a lady.
"He is no gypsy, my father," she said,
"But lord of these lands over,
With him I'll stay till my dying day,
And follow the gypsy rover."
Ah de doo, ah de doo dah day,
Ah de doo, ah de day dee,
He whistled and he sang till the green woods rang,
And he won the heart of a lady.
