Frances Curran (born 21 May 1961, Glasgow) is a leading activist in the Scottish Socialist Party. She was a member of the Scottish Parliament for West of Scotland during 2003-07. She was an unsuccessful candidate in the July 2008 Glasgow East by-election. During the campaign, she was informed that the police had received death threats against her.

She was formerly a member of the Labour Party and organiser for the entryist left wing Militant tendency group within the Party. As a member of the Labour Party, she served as Youth representative on the party's National Executive Committee as a representative of the Militant-dominated Labour Party Young Socialists in the early 1980s. She joined the Scottish Socialist Party when it was formed in 1998.

In July 2005, Curran played a leading role in organising the peaceful protest outside Gleneagles at the 2005 G8 Summit - as part of the G8 Alternatives group. The previous week, she and other SSP MSPs took part in a protest within the Scottish Parliament, which led to them being suspended for the month of September and fined £30,000. This protest was due to their claim that the First Minister had gone back on his word that the parliament would support the rally outside the Perthshire hotel.

Mia Wasikowska ( /ˌvɑːʃiːˈkɒfskə/ VAH-shee-KOF-skə; born 14 October 1989) is an Australian actress. After starting her career in Australian television and film, she first became known to a wider audience following her critically acclaimed work on the HBO television series In Treatment. She gained worldwide prominence in 2010 after starring as Alice in Tim Burton's $1 billion-grossing Alice in Wonderland and appearing in The Kids Are All Right, for which she received the Hollywood Awards' Breakthrough Actress Award.

In 2011, Wasikowska portrayed the title character in Cary Fukunaga's adaptation of Jane Eyre, and starred in Gus Van Sant's Restless and Rodrigo Garcia's Albert Nobbs. In 2012, she will appear in John Hillcoat's Lawless and Park Chan-wook's Stoker.

Wasikowska was born and raised in Canberra, Australia, and is the middle child of three, with an older sister, Jess, and a younger brother, Kai. Her mother, Marzena Wasikowska, is a Polish-born photographer, while her father, John Reid, is an Australian photographer and collagist. In 1998, when she was eight years old, Wasikowska and her family moved to Szczecin, Poland for a year, after her mother received a grant to produce a collection of work based on her experience of having emigrated to Australia in 1974 at the age of eleven. Wasikowska and her siblings took part in the production as subjects; she explained to Johanna Schneller of the Toronto Globe and Mail in July 2010, "We never had to smile or perform. We weren't always conscious of being photographed. We'd just do our thing, and she'd take pictures of us."

Pat Curran (born August 31, 1987) is an American mixed martial artist, and the current Bellator Featherweight Champion. He is the cousin of World Extreme Cagefighting veteran and former Featherweight title challenger Jeff Curran. He fought primarily with Xtreme Fighting Organization (XFO) before signing with Bellator Fighting Championships, where is the winner of Bellator Fighting Championships: Season Two Lightweight Tournament and the Bellator Fighting Championships: 2011 Summer Series.

Curran was a Florida High School Wrestling stand-out who went on to study Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with his cousin Jeff Curran at the young age of 17. It was during this summer of training that Curran decided to pursue mixed martial arts as a career. After making his debut in 2008, against and defeating Tony Hervey (a future KOTC Lightweight Champion), he fought his second professional bout against Lazar Stojadinovic, who had previously had a dominating performance over Curran's teammate Ben Miller, who suffered a broken jaw in the bout, at an Extreme Challenge event on January 26, 2008. The bout was featured on the TapouT reality series on the Versus Channel, giving Curran his first mainstream performance.

Daniel Straus (born July 27, 1984), formerly known as Daniel Mason-Straus, is an American professional mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter. A professional MMA competitor since 2009, Straus has made a name for himself fighting in the Midwest and Western regions of the United States. He holds notable wins over Karen Darabedyan, Nazareno Malegarie, Kenny Foster, Jason Dent, Mike Corey, and Marlon Sandro. He currently fights for Bellator Fighting Championships, where is the winner of Bellator Fighting Championships: Season Six Featherweight Tournament and the runner-up of Bellator Fighting Championships: Season Four Featherweight Tournament.

Daniel was a highly successful, and highly controversial, high school wrestler. As a junior at Sycamore High School of Cincinnati, Daniel finished 3rd in the state in Division I (135 lbs.) His senior year, he was ruled academically ineligible and missed the second half of the season (including the state tournament). However, he was given a wild card berth into the NHSCA Senior Nationals (high school senior national championship) and won the tournament. He is considered one of the best wrestlers of the decade (2001–2010) and one of the greatest Ohio high school wrestlers to never win a state title.
