A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Zhongdian, China by TravelPod blogger Hmules titled "Litang to Zhongdian - the mammoth bus ride" Hmules's travel blog entry: "After the fiasco in leaving Litang because noone would tell us when a bus would leave, we finally got a taxi to Daocheng a few hours away. We went past some really amazing scenary (see pic1) filled with rocks, it looked like someone had just dumped a load of boudlers on top of a mountain... very strange. Anyway we finally arrived in Daocheng and I went to the bus station in search of a bus to Yading, a very famous nature reserve with some amazing mountains. As is typical in China they lied to me... I ask in Chinese 'do you have a bus to Yading' 'no' (accompanied by a point at a taxi). Yes well I wasn't going to pay for a taxi for 6hrs on my own so I searched for some foreigners to share it with, and found noone! The only foreigners in town, were myself and the Dutch guy I'd taken the taxi with. Defeated, and unable to trek on my own, I gave in went back to the bus station, and bought a ticket to Zhongdian, leaving at 6am the next day. The Mammoth Bus Ride With some foresight I decided to write down everything about this 'oh so typical of bus rides' to improve your understanding of what it truly means to ride a bus in China.
