Hello All, Welcome to my channel!

Oklahoma City has a myriad of factors that encourage people to buy homes and start their lives or retire here. The cost of housing is really one of the few places in America where the median household income can easily afford to cover it. The median home price is only three times median household income. Now, there is a reason for the lack of home appreciation here. Less people want to move here because of the devastating tornadoes that can terrorize many places in the OKC area.
If you are sheepish about tornadoes then this may not be the place for you. Year over year Oklahoma is one of the states that ranks highest in amount of tornadoes per year and damage done too. Oklahoma City is kinda higher in poverty and crime than you would like to see. Be careful where you buy here to ensure your family and investments are protected.
Oklahoma County is one of the most liberal counties in the state. But, Donald Trump still beat Joe Biden by one percentage point here. If you are looking for a liberal place in Oklahoma, this is the best Oklahoma offers for you, but Oklahoma may not be your cup of tea politically. If you are conservative, than by all means, this place will probably align with your values.
Oklahoma City has a lot to offer, but this is not a place to move to on a whim. Natural disaster, poverty, crime, and expensive traveling options mean you will have to think ahead. They have friendly people, low cost of living, affordable housing options, and many great people in close proximity.

Oklahoma City is the capital of the U.S. state of Oklahoma. It's known for its cowboy culture and capitol complex, surrounded by working oil wells. The reflecting pool and empty glass and bronze chairs of the Oklahoma City National Memorial recall the victims of the 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. The Survivor Tree, an American elm nearly destroyed in the attack, is also part of the memorial.

Bootleg: Chasing the Tail of Self-Supervised Named Entity Disambiguation (CIDR 2021)
We present our work on Bootleg, a self-supervised named entity disambiguation (NED) system that links mentions in text to entities in a knowledge base. Bootleg is built to improve disambiguation of entities which appear infrequently in training data, called tail entities. The tail is where disambiguation gets interesting as models cannot rely on learned textual cues. See how we solve this using structured data over entity types and relations. We further discuss the challenges of managing entity embeddings in downstream systems.

Deduplication and Author Disambiguation of Streaming Records via Supervised Models -Reza Karimi
"Here we present a general supervised framework for record deduplication and author-disambiguation via Spark. This work differentiates itself by - Application of Databricks and AWS makes this a scalable implementation. Compute resources are comparably lower than traditional legacy technology using big boxes 24/7. Scalability is crucial as Elsevier's Scopus data, the biggest scientific abstract repository, covers roughly 250 million authorships from 70 million abstracts covering a few hundred years. - We create a fingerprint for each content by deep learning and/or word2vec algorithms to expedite pairwise similarity calculation. These encoders substantially reduce compute time while maintaining semantic similarity (unlike traditional TFIDF or predefined taxonomies). We will briefly discuss ...

We will briefly discuss how to optimize word2vec training with high parallelization. Moreover, we show how these encoders can be used to derive a standard representation for all our entities namely such as documents, authors, users, journals, etc. This standard representation can simplify the recommendation problem into a pairwise similarity search and hence it can offer a basic recommender for cross-product applications where we may not have a dedicate recommender engine designed. - Traditional author-disambiguation or record deduplication algorithms are batch-processing with small to no training data. However, we have roughly 25 million authorships that are manually curated or corrected upon user feedback. Hence, it is crucial to maintain historical profiles and hence we have developed a machine learning implementation to deal with data streams and process them in mini batches or one document at a time. We will discuss how to measure the accuracy of such a system, how to tune it and how to process the raw data of pairwise similarity function into final clusters. Lessons learned from this talk can help all sort of companies where they want to integrate their data or deduplicate their user/customer/product databases.

Abstract:
Named Entity Disambiguation (NED) is the task of mapping textual mentions to entities in a database. A key challenge in NED is generalizing to rarely seen entities, termed tail entities. Traditional NED systems use hand-tuned features to improve tail generalization, but these features make the system challenging to deploy and maintain. In 2018, a subset of the authors built and deployed a self-supervised NED system at a major technology company, which improved performance over its hand-tuned predecessor. Motivated to understand the core reasons for this improvement, we introduce Bootleg, a clean-slate, open-source, self-supervised NED system. In this talk, we'll show how to succeed on the tail by reasoning over structured data. We demonstrate that Bootleg matches or exceeds state-of-the-art performance on three NED benchmarks and that the learned representations from Bootleg demonstrate up to 8% performance lift in a production task. Finally, we observe that embeddings from self-supervised models like Bootleg are increasingly being served to downstream applications, creating an embedding ecosystem. We initiate the study of the data management challenges associated with this ecosystem.

Five injured after Amtrak train collides with car hauler in OK, Thankfully All OK
Five people were hospitalized with non-critical injuries after an Amtrak train struck a truck hauling cars that reportedly was stuck on the tracks in far southern Oklahoma, authorities said. Than God everyone is OK.
Alta Spells reports in CNN
The crash occurred about 7 p.m. Friday near Thackerville, just north of the Oklahoma-Texas state line.
Emergency crews from several fire departments and law enforcement agencies responded to the crash and were on the scene for hours, according to a social media post by the Love County Fire Department.
“A car hauler had become high centered on the tracks and was struck by an Amtrak train going northbound,” the post said.
“The driver of the truck was not injured; however five passengers from the train were transported by ambulance to hospitals with...

“The driver of the truck was not injured; however five passengers from the train were transported by ambulance to hospitals with non-critical injuries.
“The front of the train locomotive derailed, causing slight damage to parts of the rail bed and prevented the train from being moved.
“Inspectors from BNSF (railroad), Amtrak, and the Federal Railroad Administration arrived on scene to assist with command and inspect damage to the tracks and train.
“Amtrak officials requested school buses to transport passengers to hotels in the area when it appeared the train couldn’t be moved.
“Some passengers were able to call local family and friends and be picked up at the scene, others were transported to nearby destinations by small charter vehicles from Amtrak, and eventually it was decided the damaged locomotive could be uncoupled and the remaining passengers could be transported back to Ft Worth with the locomotive at the rear of the train.”
Authorities were at the scene through Saturday morning.
Amtrak has operated the 206-mile Heartland Flyer rail service between Oklahoma City and Fort Worth since 1999.
The train, which runs through Thackerville, had been advertised as making daily trips between the two cities. It was not immediately clear when service would resume.
Proposed expansion of passenger rail would mean more transportation options for Oklahomans
As a bipartisan bill that would dedicate $1.2 trillion dollars to improving the nation’s infrastructure waits for the congressional lawmakers to take action, Oklahoma public radio reporters have been asking people what they would improve in our state if they had the chance. More public transportation options is one of the most common responses.
Kateleigh Mills reports in Local News
At Oklahoma City’s historic Santa Fe Depot, an art-deco building that harkens back to when passenger rail was prominent in Oklahoma, passengers are boarding here to go south towards Fort Worth, Texas.
The Heartland Flyer is a once-daily round trip passenger train that came online in 1999. It’s the only passenger rail line in the state, but that could be changing.
Earlier this year, Amtrak put out a 15-year plan which proposes various lines and enhancements to be implemented by the year 2035 around the country, including a new service between OKC and Newton, Kansas.
Jack Mayhew, the mechanical foreman at the Santa Fe Depot, said the possibility of expanding a line into Kansas has been a topic of discussion for years. Cities like Edmond and Guthrie passed resolutions earlier this year in support of the expansion, and it has the backing of the state legislature, too.
When Amtrak laid out its proposed map — and Congress started talking about funding infrastructure — it got Mayhew’s attention.
"I really hope it does pass because our country is kind of hurting for infrastructure," Mayhew said. "I've always been in transportation my entire life, and this is desperately needed."
In the bipartisan infrastructure bill, $66 billon would be dedicated towards passenger and freight rail. The extension of the Heartland Flyer into Kansas would not only mean new stops going north, but it would also open both Oklahoma and Texas passengers to much of the country.
"Currently, we have a bus bridge between here and Newton, Kansas and that really discourages people, but it only makes one stop and that's in Wichita," Mayhew said. "For us to open it up and go north, you don't have to come to Oklahoma City to board the train. You can go to Guthrie or onto Perry or Ponca City instead of backtracking down here."
Jared Schwennesen, the Multi-Modal Division Manager for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, said the line into Kansas currently only supports freight trains.
