Broken Crescent 2.02: Roman Empire (Byzantium) vs Seljuk Turks
Both sides Max skilled... Seems i got a bit rusty after not playing tw games for some time lol. Each time i play this mod i can't help but amaze myself at its great looking units & their armor, not just the Roman Byzantines but also the enemy. As far as for Late Roman Byzantine unit skins there is NO DOUBT to my mind, that these of BC are the best looking from all mods. There's no way i'm gonna play BC & not play some with them hehehe..

NOTICE: AT THE REQUEST OF SOME FRIENDS OF MINE, THE PURPOSE OF THIS VID IS MORE TO SHOW THE UNITS IN IT THAN FOR THE BATTLE ITSELF, SO IF U WISH TO ONLY WATCH THE BATTLE JUST SKIP THE FIRST 9 MINS... THANK YOU!!! WooHooo... No more part 1s & part 2s in my battle/siege vids, i can upload vids now much longer than just 15mins, i already tested a 33min vid & removed it, thats why this vid takes around 22 mins hehehe. Now i need to check how long max i can upload cos it only tells me "you can upload vids longer than 15 mins" but already knowing i can upload as long as 30mins i'm already much glad, & from now on i will post my battles & sieges in HD... Here are the Eastern Romans (Byzantines) vs the Seljuk Turks in Broken Crescent, first showing the units as requested, then they battle it out. Since this is a custom battle the commander is just a captain, cos the General, faction heir & Emperor in the campaign look much better & awesome, i chose the best & better units on both sides rather than levies & they really look amazing especially the Byzantines, even the muslim units, the seljuks look so awesome & really historically accurate. I'm really loving this mod for its units & skins but now, later on, i will upload the Byzantines (Eastern Romans) from Stainless Steel 6.3 also cos even on stainless steel they look amazing. I didn't choose the Byzantine Toxotai archers as they look very plain, simple & unprotected, instead i choose Armenian Azat Archers who are better protected ...

The Battle of Malazgirt/Manzikert 1071 HD - (Seljuq Turks vs Byzantines)
Thank you for watching this video, please rate/comment ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Battle of Manzikert, or Malazgirt, was fought between the Byzantine Empire and Seljuq forces led by Alp Arslan on August 26, 1071 near Manzikert. The decisive defeat of the Byzantine army and the capture of the Emperor Romanos IV played an important role in undermining Byzantine authority in Anatolia and Armenia. The fallout from Manzikert was nearly disastrous for the empire, with numerous subsequent civil conflicts and an economic crisis severely weakening the empire's ability to adequately defend its borders. This led to the mass movement of Turks into central Anatolia and by 1080, an area of 30000 square miles (78000 km2) had been lost to the empire. Romanos continued to Manzikert, which he captured on August 23; the Seljuks responded with heavy incursions by bowmen. The next day some foraging parties under Bryennios discovered the Seljuk army and were forced to retreat back to Manzikert. The Armenian homo sex ual general Basilakes was sent out with some cavalry, as Romanos did not believe this was Arslan's full army; the cavalry was destroyed and Basilakes the Armenian pig taken prisoner. Romanos drew up his troops into formation and sent the left wing out under Bryennios, who was almost surrounded by the quickly approaching Turks and was forced to retreat once more. The Seljuk forces hid among the nearby hills for the night, making ...

For more M2TW action: www.youtube.com M2TW Online Multiplayer 2 vs 2 Battle: Seljuk Turks & Mongols vs France & Venice 20k per team (10k per person), no elephants, no artylery, 6/2. A perfect example of how a battle between the light Eastern factions (Muslim factions like the Turks and Egyptians and the Mongols) and heavy Western frankish (France, England, HRE, Venice etc.) armies looked like. While the Franks relly on thick heacy armour to give them protection, for the Turks "speed is armour". Those light Alan Cavalry and Horse Archers were a thorn in any Western army's eye. The heavy knights could never catch them because their armour made them and their horses slower. Anyway my army is composed of: - 4 Turkish Archers - 4 Spear Militias - 3 Afghan Javilenmen - 3 Naffatun - 2 Turkomans - 3 Alan Light Cavalry - 1 General Bodyguard unit My ally, commanding the Mongols, has: - 4 Mongol Infantry - 2 Mongol Heavy Archers - 2 Peasants - 3 Levy Spearmen - 3 Naffatun - 4 Mongol Light Lancers - 1 Kwarizmian Cavalry - 1General Bodyguard unit Used FRAPS to capture it and Windows Live Movie Maker to edit it so it's nothing "fancy". My PC is also crappy so it affects the quality naturally. Thank you for watching and i hope you'll enjoy/already enjoyed. PS: Sorry for any typos.

M2TW Kingdoms Crusades: Regent Reynald of Chatillion vs Seljuk Turkish Saracens
Since Many ppl watched 'the Kingdom of Heaven' i assume many of u know already who Reynald of Chatillion was. Reynald of Chatillion was a knight of the 2nd Crusade, served as Prince of Antioch from 1153 to 1160 & became Lord of Oultrejordain through his 2nd marriage. Right after Saladin's victory at Hattin 1187, Reynald was captured & beheaded by Saladin himself, after he had swore to behead Reynald for his cruelty over muslims, & in that same time Saladin himself was committing barbaric cruelties over the Christians, cos he 1st demanded that all the Christian POWs submit to islam or die & when they denied, which he knew they would, he ordered all Templars & Hospitallers captured to be beheaded aswell, all exept their King Guy, which HE is to blame for the defeat at Hattin & the loss of Jerusalem to the Saracens. During the beheading of Christians, as a sign of solidariety, a number of Crusader prisoners that were not to be executed, started one by one saying to the Saracens that they also were Templars & Hospitallers, when in reality they were no Templars nor Hospitallers, to stand by their brethren in their death & were all put to the sword without mercy, for God & their faith. Many of the Saracens including the Nobles begged Saladin to let them execute 1 or 2 Christians. Perhaps its no wonder during the 3rd Crusade, that when Saladin stopped paying the ransom for the garrison & ppl of Acre, Richard had them all beheaded. Although, Reynald of Chatillion is known as a ...

Local boy presenting the famous Ulu Cami (Mosque) in Diyarbakir, Turkey
I was visiting this very old city for business and recorded this video in my leisure time. The boy in the movie was very eager on guiding us all around and he seemed well-knowing, so we decided to listen to him while recording his presentation. He's talking in Turkish language and telling about the history and architectural details about the old mosque, which was actually converted from a church by the Seljuk Turks. This mosque is known as the 5th most important mosque for Islam.
Turkey is full of historical remainings from incredibly old times including ancient Mosopotamian, Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk, and Ottoman eras. Diyarbakir is located in South-East Anatolia and famous also with its delicious local food, which is also known as kebab.

Sari Gelin is a folk song popular in Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Iran – has many different lyrical interpretations in many languages, but the melody remains unchanged. Whether the name Sari Gelin refers to a blonde bride, a girl/bride of the mountains, or simply a bride in yellow garments is unknown. This is because the history and precise origin of many songs, originally belonging to oral folk traditions such as Sari Gelin, are difficult to determine.
A controversial documentary with the same title as the was distributed in Turkish schools which shows the official Turkish version of the Armenian Genocide.
Sarı is a Turkic adjective meaning "yellow." However, it also means "fair-skinned" or "blonde." The word gelin means someone who comes to the family (i.e. a bride), with its root in the Turkic word gel (meaning "come"). It is mainly used in the Turkish and Azerbaijani languages, and is a popular loan word from the Ottoman Turkish language by local minorities, like Armenians and Kurds.
In Armenian sari means "of the mountain" and song is also known as Sari Aghjik which means "Mountain Girl" and Vard Siretsi which means "I loved a rose."In short, Sari Gelin could be translate to "blond bride/maiden" or "fair-skinned young girl", but does not directly translate to "Mountain Girl".In Turkey the song is known as based on a story similar to Romeo & Juliet, where a Muslim Turkish man falls in love with a Christian Armenian girl. In Turkey, Sari Gelin is often used in documentaries or television programs about Armenians and is somewhat recognized as a mourning song for the tragedy that befell the two nations.In Azerbaijan, Sari Gelin is known to be a legend in which "Blond Maiden" symbolizes the love between a Turk and a Christian lady after a Seljuk Turkish victory against the Byzantine Empire.
A few translations of the song in different languages:
In Armenian:
From Vard Siretsi (Sari Aghjik) / I Loved A Rose (Girl of Mountain):
I loved a rose, it gave thorns,
Dle yaman, dle yaman, dle yaman.
She left and chose someone else,
Ah let your mother die, girl of mountain, oy oy
Girl of rock, oy oy,
Rock-hearted girl, oy oy,
Malign-hearted girl
From Sari Gyalin:
The clouds pieces pieces, maid of the mountain.
I could not have the one I loved,
Ah, let your mother die, maid of the mountain.
There you are white like milk, maid of the mountain.
You look like an opened rose,
Ah, let your mother die, maid of the mountain.
In Azerbaijani:
You don't braid the end of your hair,
You don't pick a dewy flower.
What is this love?
They will not let me marry you.
Oh, what can I do?
Oh, what can I do?
Golden Bride
The tallest of this valley,
Shepherd, give me back the lamb.
I wish that one day I could see
The face of my beloved
Oh, what can I do?
Oh, what can I do?
Golden Bride
They will not let me marry you.
May your grandmother die.
Oh, Golden Bride
Golden Bride
In Persian:
The Maiden Cupbearer
Dancing, drunkard
from the feast of escorts
Fleeing away, fleeing away.
Pouring in the glass of wine
the sorrow of yearning,
the grief of parting.
As shatter

THE CITY OF IZMIR

THE CITY OF IZMIR
Izmir is situated on the west of the Anatolia peninsula on the coast of the Aegean Sea. It is the third largest city in Turkey and is the main port of the Aegean Region. It is a cosmopolitan city that has been enriched by many cultures both recent and ancient. In fact, the latest excavations of the “Yeşilova Tumulus” near the district of Bornova, have revealed that the earliest inhabitants of Izmir date back to 8500 BC.
The rebuilding of the city of Izmir in 334 BC was in large part due to Alexander the Great, who, according to legend, had a dream as he slept under a plane tree after hunting on Mt. Pagus (present-day Kadifekale at the top of the hill in the city center). In his dream, the goddess Nemesis requested that Alexander create a new city and bring the citizens of the old city there. Upon waking, Alexander shared his dream with the Oracle of Claros. The Oracle’s reply was simple: “The citizens of Smyrna who move and settle on the hillside of Mt. Pagus by the Sacred Meles Stream shall be four times happier than before”.
The city of Izmir, was a leading center of commerce, art and culture of the ancient world. The oldest name given to the city was Smyrna, after the Amazon warrior-queen of Hellenistic mythology. The Hellenistic people founded Smyrna, on the tumulus known nowadays as Tepekule. This city was home to Homer, the poet-writer of the greatest epic of the world, The Iliad, the first written masterpiece of western civilization.
Throughout ancient history, Izmir served as the cradle of the Hittite, Hellenistic, Lydian and Persian civilizations; as well as acting as the corner stones of the Pergamum, Byzantine, Seljuk, Venician, Genoese, Germianids civilizations and the Ottoman Empire too.
Below are some memorable historic notes regarding Izmir and environs:
- The first all-marble temple of the world was constructed in Ephesus;
- The oldest and the longest street of the Hellenic world was the 120-meter Athena Avenue used during the 7– 4 BC;
- The Iliad, the first written masterpiece of western civilization, was sung by Homer in Izmir, at the banks of the Meles stream, between 750-700 BC;
- In 1841, the first theater, Euterpe, was founded;
- In 1850, Garko, a doctor in Izmir, formulated a medicine for diabetes, using herbs of the Aegean region;
- The first private newspaper in Turkey, the “Spectateur Oriental”, was printed in Izmir, in French on March 24, 1881 by Alexander Balcque;
- The first football team in Turkey was assembled in Izmir, in 1890).
In more recent years the city thrived as such a commercial and cultural center that the first railway lines providing access inland were laid here. Turks, Levantines (Italian, French and English tradesmen) and Greeks; in other words Moslems, Christians, Greek Orthodox and Jews lived together in harmony as citizens of this benevolent city. This ethnic diversity helped instill the warmth and friendliness the city offers today.

Exo 19:3 Moshe went up to God, and Adonai called to him from the mountain: "Here is what you are to say to the household of Ya`akov, to tell the people of Isra'el:
Exo 19:4 'You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I carried you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself.
What do you know about eagles? Does it say in the Scriptures that the Lord will renew your strength like the eagles, and that he carries us on the mighty wings of eagles? What must you do to soar on the eagles’ wings of God? Did you know that there are many countries and former empires that use and used the eagle? The United States has adopted the North American Bald Eagle. The Seljuk Turks and Ottoman Turks used- a double-headed eagle as coats-of-arms. Serbia/Montenegro- The Two-headed eagle is the emblem of Serbia, Montenegro. Spain. The "Catholic Kings", Isabella and Ferdinand- used the Golden Eagle as a part of the royal shield. Germany and Prussia- have used a black eagle as their national symbol. The Roman Empire Charlemagne and Holy Roman Empire. After his crowning as the new Roman Emperor, Charlemagne adopted the ancient Roman eagle as his own symbol. All these empires are gone today except the USA. Moreover, the USA is in serious need of repair. The question raised in this message is why did God choose to use the eagle as a reference for our redemption? What are the characteristics of an eagle and why do we need them in our lives today. Did you know the eagle only mates once for life? Listen or watch this message, as the mystery of the eagle’s wing is explored through Biblical lenses.

M2TW Kingdoms Crusades: Prince Bohemond III of Antioch vs Seljuk Crown Prince Salih 1/2
Although this battle is not a historical one, both Opposing Princes existed for real in the Holyland during the Crusades. Prince Bohemond III of Antioch was a descendant of the brave Bohemond I of Taranto, one of the leaders of the 1st Crusade who is renowned for his bravery in fighting the Seljuk Saracens & the Seljuk Crown Prince Salih, was the son of the famous Seljuk Turkish Sultan Nur al-Din of the Zengids. Prince Salih never took any part in battles cos he was just an 11 year old boy & after his father Sultan Nur al-Din died, he inherited his father's place & became a political rival of the future Ayyubid Sultan Saladin Ayyubi. The Zengids sent skillful Hashishin led by Rashid ad-Din Sinan in an attempt to threaten & kill Saladin on 2 occasions, they entered his camp at night, undetected passed through Saladin's bodyguards surrounding his tent & tried to kill him & in another attempt the same way, they left him a threatening note & a poisoned dagger near his head, saying he'd be killed if he does not withdraw his men cos he also tried to capture the Hashishin fortresses, & that made him really scared & shouted a loud cry saying it was the Hashishin leader Sinan himself that just left his tent & began fearing for his life, so he withdrew with his men. Suddenly Salih was found mysteriously dead, probably poisoned & Saladin became the unchallenged Ayyubid ruler. Anyway, in this battle i'm playing with Prince Bohemond III against 2 fresh full Seljuk Turkish armies, one ...
