Kualoa Adventure - Oahu Hawaii - Glidecam HD 4000
We filmed all this at Kualoa Hawaii. www.kualoa.com Stephen Anderson wrote the score specifically for this video. You can download the song on iTunes in the link below :) itunes.apple.com I'm on facebook and twitter FINALLY! :) www.facebook.com twitter.com Going back to the location where we filmed this, it is actually my favorite place in all of Oahu Hawaii. Without question the most scenic. It's also the main location in Oahu where Hollywood movies are filmed. Such movies as Jurassic Park, 50 First Dates, Godzilla, Wind talkers, Pearl Harbor Mighty Joe Young and even a great deal of the TV show LOST was filmed here. It' also a huge tourist attraction where, as you can see, you can horseback ride, sail boat, 4 wheel, movie bus tours, jungle expedition, boat cruise, dinner, the list goes on :) It really is honestly the most photogenic place in all of Oahu. And by the way, I'm not paid to say that :) I actually did this video for free, there was no money involved. And I did it just because I love the location. The staff at Kualoa ranch were super awesome/helpful to work with when filming this, super accommodating, and they helped with what we needed to get the shots we wanted. I would for sure reccomend this place to ANY PHOTOGRAPHER, or anyone who wants an escape from the everyday world! I really think this place is one of Hawaii's best kept secrets. It also has a super rich history, which you can also find out more about that on there website as well. www.kualoa.com ...

Travel expert Veronica Hill of www.CaliforniaTravelExpert.com offers a North Shore Oahu travel guide through Haleiwa in this episode of "Hawaii Travel Tips." In this Hawaii travel guide, Veronica offers tips on visiting North Shore Oahu attractions such as Haleiwa Beach Park, snorkeling at Shark's Cove and Three Tables, the sea turtles at Laniakea Beach (also called Turtle Beach), and the Waimea Falls, located inside Waimea Valley Park. During your North Shore Oahu vacation, be sure to check out North Shore Oahu restaurants like Haleiwa Joe's, Ted's Bakery, Giovanni's Shrimp Truck, the Aoki's Shave Ice and Matsumoto Shave Ice shops and Ray's Wood-Fired Kiave Broiled Huli Huli Chicken. For a special treat, check out the Haleiwa Farmers Market on Sundays. When looking for North Shore Oahu accommodations, you'll discover that there really aren't any North Shore Oahu hotels except for Turtle Bay Resort. However, you will find several North Shore Oahu vacation rentals, condos and bed and breakfast spots. Haleiwa surf reaches its peak in the winter months, with waves up to 30 feet. For the latest North Shore surf report, call (808) 596-SURF or visit http The official North Shore Chamber of Commerce is at www.northshoreoahu.org Thanks to The Entradistas' Andy Moore of Haleiwa, Hawaii for his cool North Shore music for this soundtrack. Booked it to Oahu!
Last minute, my brother purchased a plane ticket for me to visit him along with my other brother and a couple friends on the island of Oahu. There was no reason for the trip other than for everyone to get together and enjoy the island for a couple days. It was a short trip, but well worth it. Thanks Paul! Kim won two free flights and a few nights in Waikiki (from a raffle to raise money for Japan Tsunami relief) and we had a blast visiting Oahu for the first time! Koko Head Hike - Amazing Hiking Trails in Oahu
Go to migrationology.com for lots more travel adventures! Koko Head hike is one of the most strenuous hikes on the island of Oahu - located on the outskirts of Honolulu, Hawaii. The hike goes straight up the side of Koko Head Crater, following a old cable car railroad. The top of the mountain was originally a military bunker so the cable cars were there in order to transport good from the bottom to the top. Today the cable car is no longer functioning but is instead open to the public as a hiking trail. The trail leads up 1080 steps to the top. On the trail you just follow the railroad ties step by step. In the middle of the hike there's a small bridge that you need to cross, however if that proves to be too frightening, you can take the trail around the bridge. Koko Head hike offers an extremely magnificent view from the top of the mountain with a view of downtown Honolulu, Waikiki and also Hawaii Kai and Hanauma Bay. The hike should take anywhere from 15 minutes to 45 minutes, depending on your level of fitness. By the way, it's quite a demanding hike, it will surely get your heart pumping!

Some of the best places on Oahu, Hawaii By Aloha Robert
O'ahu is the third largest island in the Hawaiian chain. It is home to about three-fourths of the state's population. Honolulu is the state capitol and the 11th largest US metropolitan city. Waikiki, the most world-renowned site in O'ahu, is the top visitor destination of the state. This manmade beach attraction encompasses 450 acres of top vacation fun, surf, hotels, shopping, dining, and entertainment. Of course there is abundant tourist attractions outside of Waikiki. The island is very georgraphically diverse with mountains, rain forests, volcanic craters, tropics, beaches, and much more. There is something for everyone to see and do! 12-23-09 update, cool, I've been trying to identify any of these big wave riders and just got the following email from Delphine Lamour the communications manager at Oxbow surf wear.
Hello Kalani,
In this video you have Oxbow team riders Laird Hamilton, Kai Lenny and Jason Polakow.
Amazing!
Kind regards,
Delphine LAMOUR
12-18-09 Thank you all for the amazing emails with your Maui memories and kind comments !, that's the stuff that warms my soul !
I love it if you "like" it, please share me if you love me.
Aloha all, just wanted to post a little footage from Jaws today...These waves are insanely huge and I have so much respect for the surfers that have the guts to do this as well as the jet ski operators that are tremendously talented in their own right, many of them big wave riders as well..
Anyhow, I live a couple of miles from Jaws on W.Kuiaha in a little town called Haiku. At night I can hear these monsters breaking, they sound like thunder...

3:50 Hawaii Time
I just spoke to Laird around 3pm Hawaii time (5pm PST) from Maui. He said they had a good morning and that his board and body were feeling good. They went out fairly early, and it had not gotten too crowded yet. The boys (Dave Kalama, Terry Chun, Derrick Doerner and others) came in for gas fuel and food fuel for lunch. By then a front had come in and “chop sueyed” the waves. Laird then proceeded to watch some of the action from the cliff side. He said a lot of skis went up on to the rocks along with some boards. He felt like there may have been several new comers who were having to work it all out.
I’m on Kauai and Kings reef began to break ever so slightly. The ocean floor by this reef is so deep that you don’t even see Kings unless it’s starting to be Hawaiian 25 ft (that’s double in the front).
The boys are going to sit tight on Maui and then make their plan for tomorrow. As most of you know the swell hits Kauai first, then Oahu (which is having a bit of rain and some major water surging), Maui and so on. Once they get a beat on the conditions (wind, swell) they will most likely decide to continue to stay on Maui and surf Peah’i (aka Jaws) tomorrow. If I hear anything of interest I will let you all know."

Oahu Tree Snails
On the island of Oahu, there lives a group of snails found nowhere else in the world. They belong to the endemic Hawaiian family Achatinellidae. These small snails are isolated on Oahu's mountain ridges and have evolved through allopatric speciation into a multitude of different species. Yet, their fate is in our hands. All the remaining species are threatened with extinction in our lifetime.
