The Holy See (The Vatican, Italy)
Urghhh... We're still on this friggin' bus. It feels like I've been on this bus for years. I've used up every possible comfortable position I could think of. What? Are we waiting for them to finish building the bridge before we can cross it? Yeah a train, that would of been a lot better. Before Orvieto we passed Venice, which we really wanted to see but couldn't but then managed to figure out away to end up seeing it. I'll explain later. The other city we really wanted to see was Florence but there are too many things to see to just stop by for a few hours. So, as a nice parting gift we get to see the dome of The Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore from the highway. Yeah don't feel bad I can't see it that well either. After the lovely traffic jam getting into Rome we reached the hotel at around 9:00pm. For those who wanted Josko offered to take us out to Rome right after check in. This guy doesn't quit. I haven't slept for 24 hours and for once I was actually tired according to the correct time zone. With a 6:30am wake up call looming, I opted to sleep. After a wicked buffet style breakfast we were thrown full force into the streets of Rome...on our way to The Vatican. Rome is busy, people move fast. Italians don't have time for people not sure were they need to be. It's not humid but it crazy hot. So rule number one BYOW bring your own water. The vendors seems to get a sick twisted kick out of charging 3 euros for bottled water. For those who are following 3 euros is like ...

Benedict XVI: Christian have no need to be pessimistic
"Prayer is like a window that allows us to keep our eyes toward God, not only to remind us of the goal towards which we are headed, but also to let the will of God illuminate our earthly journey and help us to live with intensity and commitment. Those were Pope Benedict XVI's words at his general audience on Wednesday, dedicated to prayer in the second half of the Book of Revelation. To the faithful gathered in the Paul VI Hall, the Pope said, raising ones eyes to the "Heaven of God, in a constant relationship with Christ," "we learn to see things in a new way." "The Church lives in history - Pope Benedict XVI underlined, in the course of his catechesis, it is not closed in on itself, but it a ...

The Holy See as a peace broker
How does the Holy See intervene in peace operations around the world, and to what extent can the Holy See maintain the role of mediator at an equal distance between the different parties? How did the Holy See intervene in the Middle East, and what was the impact of its initiatives in the peace process in the countries where solutions are the key to peace in the whole region? It was this theme that Fr Maged Maroun, from the Maronite Antonine Order, expounded upon at his doctoral thesis defense on Monday, at the University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome. The title -- the relationship between the Holy See and Lebanon during the years of war (1975-1990) and their impact on the General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops for Lebanon (1995) -- was the starting point for Fr Maroun to highlight the role of the Holy See in the Middle East peace process. The Antonine priest explained that the Holy See, which has long recognized that the presence of Christians in Lebanon is of great significance for their presence in all the Middle East, has urged the Lebanese to understand their mission, a mission of dialogue and testimony. Keeping this delicate balance in mind, the Holy See has always worked for peace in Lebanon and the whole Middle East, Fr. Maroun continued. This mission has accompanied the Antonine Order from its beginnings, explained Fr Walid Khoury, a General Counselor of the Order, who attended the event as the special envoy of the Superior General."Since the founding of the ...

Without God's light, man cannot see where he goes
"Light makes life possible. It makes encounter possible. It makes communication possible. It makes knowledge, access to reality and to truth, possible." Because this is true, "The darkness enshrouding God and obscuring values is the real threat to our existence and to the world in general." These were just some of the words Pope Benedict XVI addressed to the faithful in his homily during the Easter Vigil Mass in St Peter's Basilica, on the night separating Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday, for which the light of Christ, risen from the dead, is a central theme: beginning in silence and darkness, the paschal fire is lit, and with it the Easter Candle, the light of which begins as a far-off flicker, ...

Vatican: investigation over stolen documents concludes
Paolo Gabriele -- better known as the former butler to Benedict XVI who is accused of stealing confidential documents and then releasing them -- has been indicted by the examining judge for aggravated theft. The announcement was made during a press conference held at the Holy See press office, where it was also announced that the preliminary stages of the investigation had concluded. Gabriele admitted responsibility for the crime, and has undergone extensive psychological and psychiatric evaluation which revealed that he was fully aware of his actions when he stole the documents and released them externally. A second person will also stand trial for aiding and abetting in the crime.

Internal letters allege corruption in Vatican
www.euronews.net Allegations that a former top official at the Vatican, Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano was transferred against his will to Washington after whistleblowing on corruption have been denied by the Holy See. The story came to light after letters written by Vigano were published. In them, Vigano complained of a web of corruption, nepotism, and cronyism linked to the awarding of contracts to outside companies at inflated prices. Vigano is said to have alerted his superiors including Pope Benedict.

A video shot on the iPhone 4S
Holy cow. Time to throw my 7D in the bin*
Got an iPhone 4S yesterday and got up this morning to go for a surf. No surf, so thought I'd shoot some stuff to see what the new camera is like on the 4S. Got home, looked at the footage, and couldn't believe it came out of a phone. Was so excited so thought I'd quickly cut a vid to share the goodness.
It's actually amazing. The automatic stabilisation seems to work wonders, and gets rid of most the jello. Depth of field is flipping awesome. Colours are really good straight out the camera, but I did give this footage a slight grade with the 3-way colour wheel in Final Cut.
Yesssssss //////////
Cut with Final Cut 7.

AWFILMS | Team ISO | Import Alliance 2011
Coverage of Import Alliance weeked that i spent with the ISO crew. It was def something different. First met up with Steve and Robbie the night i landed went back to the hotel and found out that Domino's delivered until 3AM IN ATLANTA! WHAT THE! The next day we headed to the car wash. Oh yeah how could i forget "the varsity" that place was freaking nuts! It was similiar to in'n'out etc but way crazier! i have never seeen so many people ordering fast food in my life. My stomach was dead after the first bite. We then headed to Zen Motorsports. Was a cool small meet. Was awesome seeing different cars. Super gangster Lexus. Sunday was the main day. Import Alliance. Car shows in Washington are not very big. When i showed up to this thing all i could say was "HOLY HELL!" Never in my life have I ever seen so many cars! There was a good 6 parking levels full. And speaking of the levels. I was LOST HALF THE TIME with kyle mcmanus trying to find that gold civic.
Anyways goodtimes had and a lot of gay stuff happened to the Crew but it didnt let em down.
Big Thanks to Steve Nguyen for flying me out and letting me film.
Until next time!

Benedict XVI: Let yourself be transformed, in order to trans
On the occasion of the Feast of our Lady of Confidence, Pope Benedict XVI met yesterday afternoon with the seminarians of his diocese, who had gathered in the Chapel of the Pontifical Roman Major Seminary. After praying briefly before the tabernacle, and after having received the greetings of the Rector of the institute, the Pope held a lectio divina, a meditative reflection on the letter of Saint Paul the Apostle to the Romans. Speaking extemporaneously to about 190 students of the five seminaries in the diocese of Rome, the Pope emphasised that the invitation of the Apostle of the Nations to offer their bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, must be understood in the light of the ...
