David Rotem (Hebrew: דוד רותם, 11 January 1949 – 8 June 2015) was an Israeli politician. He served as a member of the Knesset for Yisrael Beiteinu between 2007 and 2015.
Rotem was born in Bnei Brak and grew up in Jerusalem. He attended Horev, a religious elementary School and the Horev Yeshiva High School. From 1966 to 1967 he studied at Bell Lane, a Jewish school in London. Between 1967 and 1971 he studied law at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, gaining an LLB.
In 1972 he became an assistant at the Faculty of Law at Bar-Ilan University, a position he held until 1977. Between 1978 and 1980 he worked as a lecturer on legislative law at the same institution. He has also served as a member of the executive committee of Sha'arei Tzedek Medical Center, and deputy chairman of the Central Elections Committee.
He spoke Yiddish and English, and was nicknamed Dudu. He served on the boards of several not-for-profit organizations.
Formerly a member of the National Religious Party, he was placed twelfth on the Yisrael Beiteinu list for the 2006 Knesset elections. Although the party won only eleven seats, Rotem entered the Knesset on 16 January 2007 as a replacement for the deceased Yuri Stern. He retained his seat in the 2009 elections, for which he was placed eighth on the party's list. He was re-elected for a third term in the 2013 elections on the joint Likud-Yisrael Beiteinu list.
David (/ˈdeɪvɪd/; Hebrew: דָּוִד, Modern David, Tiberian Dāwîḏ;ISO 259-3 Dawid; Arabic: داوُد Dāwūd; Syriac: ܕܘܝܕ Dawid; Ancient Greek: Δαυίδ; Latin: Davidus, David; Strong's: Daveed) was, according to the Books of Samuel, the second king of the United Kingdom of Israel, and according to the New Testament, an ancestor of Jesus. His life is conventionally dated to c. 1040 – 970 BCE, his reign over Judah c. 1010–970 BCE.
The Books of Samuel, 1 Kings, and 1 Chronicles are the only Old Testament sources of information on David, although the Tel Dan Stele (dated c. 850–835 BCE) contains the phrase בית דוד (bytdwd), read as "House of David", which many scholars confirm to be a likely plausible match to the existence in the mid-9th century BCE of a Judean royal dynasty called the House of David.
Depicted as a valorous warrior of great renown, and a poet and musician credited for composing much of the psalms contained in the Book of Psalms, King David is widely viewed as a righteous and effective king in battle and civil justice. He is described as a man after God's own heart in 1 Samuel 13:14 and Acts 13:22.
Bat Ayin (Hebrew: בַּת עַיִן, lit.'daughter of the eye' or 'apple of the eye', i.e. pupil) is an Israeli settlement in Gush Etzion in the West Bank, between Jerusalem and Hebron. It is administered by the Gush Etzion Regional Council and contains roughly 200 families of settlers. consisting mainly of 'Ba'alei T'shuva' (born-again) Jews with Hasidic tendencies. The international community considers Israeli settlements in the West Bank illegal under international law, but the Israeli government disputes this.
Bat Ayin was established by seven families led by Rabbi Yitzchak Ginsburg in 1989, on land originally purchased by Jews before 1948, which, under Jordanian rule until 1967, was treated as "enemy property". Eventually large lots of land were allocated to some 40 families. People of the settlement did not come from the settler mainstream establishment. Many of the original settlers were raised on the "hills". It gained a reputation for being particularly extremist and very callous towards local Palestinians, none of whom were allowed to pass anywhere near the settlement. In the early 2000s general elections, half of Bat Ayin voters expressed a preference for the Herut candidate Baruch Marzel. In 1993 Motti Karpel and Chaim Nativ set up the Chai Vekayam (Alive and Well) movement in Bat Ayin, whose document, 'Identity Card' stated clearly that the laws of the state of Israeli are not binding on West Bank settlers. According to one resident, in an extensive interview, Israel is only for Jews who are a 'chosen people', and Palestinians are required to serve them, according to the Torah's words: 'People will work for you, nations will bow for you.' The settlement is said to have expansionist interests, having established an illegal outpost called West-West Bat Ayin.

(2nd Interview) David Rotem, Knesset Member of Yisrael Beiteinu Party and Chair of the Knesset Christian Allies Caucus discuss how the security needs of Israel also affect the world. The land of Israel belongs to God and is not for any man to divide. Freedom will cease throughout the world if Israel is destroyed. America and Israel are the last real bastions of freedom. Dr. Hansen and Knesset Member Rotem discuss how CNN lied in their initial reporting of the November 2014 Jerusalem synagogue attack; making it sound like Israeli forces killed two Palestinians rather than the Palestinians performing a mass-murder terror attack. If Israel gives any land to the Palestinians, they will be at risk of destruction. Israel is only about 15km wide at some points. Mr. Rotem relates how International...

When it comes to recording music, the producer can be just as important to the sound of the track as the songwriter. And when they're the same guy, that person is exerting a huge amount of creative control. Variety’s Andrew Barker went to the Hollywood studio of producer J.R.
