Capital Account TV Exclusive Interview of CBO Mortgage Fraud Whistleblower!
Follow us @ twitter.com twitter.com Welcome to Capital Account. On today's show, we have a story you may have not heard before, from a person that you have definitely not heard from before. It's a story about America's financial crisis, its mortgage crisis, and the foreclosure fraud that enveloped the United States during the past decade. That person is Lan T. Pham, the famous CBO whistleblower who was fired from her job for telling the truth about systemic fraud and corruption in America's mortgage market and financial system. In the past century, real estate law and transactions related to real estate and mortgage financing in the US have been subject to state regulations, with mortgage documents recorded at the county level. This worked relatively well in the traditional mortgage market that we had for most of America's history; the bank that issues the mortgages keeps the loan on its books until maturity. However, this made difficult, if not impossible, the type of financial engineering of mortgages that we saw during the securitization and refinancing credit boom of the past decade. This refers, of course, to the slicing and dicing, the repackaging and selling of homes into mortgage backed securities (MBS) and collateralized debt obligations (CDO'S) that underpinned the credit bubble of the 2000's that end with the financial crisis of 2008. The reason why traditional mortgage practices made securitization difficult is, in part, because every time a financial product ...

Obama's Mortgage Task Force is a Joke
Via NY Daily News: "Three months ago, in his State of the Union speech, President Obama announced a new task force to investigate mortgage fraud and bring some measure of relief to the 12 million American families who are either losing their homes or in danger of losing them. The new Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities Working Group would be co-chaired by New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, US Attorney John Walsh of Colorado and three Washington insiders from the Justice Department and the Securities and Exchange Commission. Obama said, "This new unit will hold accountable those who broke the law, speed assistance to homeowners and help turn the page on an era of recklessness that hurt so many Americans." Whether or not the President, attorney general and others intend to get around to this task someday, "speed" was a terrible word to choose. Because 85 days after that speech, there is no sign of any activity...".* The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur breaks it down. The story of foreclosures and mortgages-INfocus-04-08-2012
Millions of Americans have lost or are on the verge of losing their homes in the United States. As of March 2008, an estimated 8.8 million borrowers, 10.8 percent of all homeowners, had negative equity in their homes, a number that is believed to have risen to 12 million by November of the same year. In September 2010, 23 percent of all US homes were worth less than the mortgage loan. Barack Obama's administration has fallen short of expectations to ameliorate the travesty. The latest deal gives homeowners in crisis only about USD 2000 as a consequence of their life being turned upside down. In this week's INFocus we speak to troubled home owners and experts to discover why the US mortgage crisis is a major contributor to minorities and under privileged Americans being trapped in a system that will not afford them socioeconomic mobility. The goal of giving form to a complex situation like the credit crisis is to quickly supply the essence of the situation to those unfamiliar and uninitiated. here are some words from Turin Brakes’ Olly Knights on the track and the video…
‘We have loved Talk Talk’s work for years, especially the final two albums but have never dared tackle their intricate and difficult music ourselves. However with the spirit of a new year ahead and the suggestion of a future Talk Talk tribute album of which we were to provide a track we decided to do our own version of “Ascension Day” and instead of competing with the hugely layered original we felt a “demix” was the best approach, something that played with silence and space and allowed the truth of the song to stand out loud and proud. Phil has echoed this sentiment with the video for the track…. He knew we had no money and no time and a tiny crew so he took those limitations and managed to create something larger than the sum of those parts, avoiding any tricks or linear narrative he’s allowed the song space and time to breath. This is NOT the language of the majority of music videos and after making at least ten of them over the years with budgets bigger than most people mortgages and all the ball aches that come with that and major record label involvement it’s safe to say this has been the most refreshing and creative video experiences to date and we hope it’s just the start….”

How Do Banks Determine Mortgage Interest Rates?
www.bestsyndication.com Have you ever wondered why banks continually change mortgage interest rates? There are many factors that help lenders determine both fixed rate and ARM mortgages. This video will explain how the interest rate is determined. There are many factors that affect mortgage rates including government bonds, rates that the government sponsored enterprise charge and the London Interbank Offered Rate. In this information program, we will discuss how these benchmarks are used to help bankers determine mortgage rates. One common benchmark cited for determining mortgage rates is the Federal Funds rate. This is the rate that banks charge other banks for overnight operations. That rate is currently in a range between zero and 0.25 percent. The discount rate is the Federal Reserve's primary interest rate. This is the rate that the Federal Reserve, also known as our central bank, charges member banks. Unlike the Federal Funds rate, the Federal Reserve Bank has absolute power in determining this interest rate. The current primary rate for the member banks is 0.75 percent. Banks that are not eligible for this primary rate are charged 1.25 percent. A third seasonal rate is for small depository institutions that need to meet seasonal requirements. The Prime Rate is what banks charge their best customers, usually corporations and large companies. This rate is typically 2.5 to 3 percent above the Federal Funds rate. These rates rarely change, so why do mortgage rates ...

PROJECT CAMELOT : STEW WEBB - BANKSTERS, MORTGAGES & MORE
This is a live interview originally conducted on livestream by Kerry Cassidy with Stew Webb... Investigative journalist and patriot. We talk about the way the banksters took over America and the mortgages that resulted in the housing debacle of 2008. We also cover the Bush crime family, the Clintons and the cartels who are financing the black projects. Stew Webb has been a tireless investigator into the conspiracy facts that are involved with the taking down of America and could result in WWIII if they have their way. With fighters like this on our watch we may have a chance to turn this ship around. The truth and nothing but the truth. Thanks, Stew. Kerry Cassidy Project Camelot projectcamelot.tv http

Tiny House Blog founder: cabins, mortgages, downsizing trend
Kent Griswold doesn't live in a tiny house, but he's become a very well known tiny house geek. Five years ago (May 2007) he launched the Tiny House Blog and it's now the most popular of its kind, but it all began with a lifelong love of cabins. At first he had a few hundred people visiting his site every day, so he decided to take it seriously and in the past five years it's grown to about 10000 to 15000 unique visitors a day. Kent admits his timing was fortuitous. Now there are other similar blogs to his like the Tiny House Design, Tiny House Talk, Tiny House Listings,The Tiny Life, This Tiny House and Shedworking. There are popular builders like Jay Shafer of Tumbleweed Tiny House Company and Brad Kittel of Tiny Texas Houses. There's even a Small House Society which helps promote the small house movement. Kent's home county of Sonoma (California) is one hub for the movement (as seen in the first act of our documentary "We the Tiny House People"). And every so often some of them- Jay Shafer, Stephen Marshall (Little House on the Trailer), Michael Janzen (Tiny House Design) and Kent- gather for a "Meeting of the Tiny Minds". While there may be something new in the way tiny house information is being spread online, Kent is clear that small shelters have always been a viable option. When Kent first started blogging he had trouble finding enough content for his site. Now he has a couple years worth of great stories (mostly flagged in his gmail account) and he sees more and ...
