Egypt's Hosni Mubarak trial: verdicts and sentences
The former Egyptian president has been sentenced to life in prison for his role in killing hundreds of protesters during the revolution that toppled him last year. But he was acquitted on charges of corruption, along with his two sons. The former Interior Minister Habib al-Adly was given a life sentence for ordering security forces to open fire on protesters. Six of his aides were also on trial. They were acquitted on all charges - including corruption and conspiring to kill protesters. Here is the decision as it was handed down by the presiding judge Ahmed Refaat.

Israeli army cleared of killing Rachel Corrie
An Israeli court has ruled that the state of Israel was not at fault for the death of Rachel Corrie, the US activist who was killed in the Gaza Strip by an Israeli army bulldozer in 2003. Judge Oded Gershon stated that Ms Corrie's death was a 'regrettable accident' and that the state was not responsible. Rachel's mother Cindy Corrie said she was dismayed by the decision: "We are of course deeply saddened and deeply troubled by what we heard today by Judge Oded Gurshon. I believe that this was a bad day not only for our family but a bad day for human rights for humanity for the rule of law and also for the country of Israel." Ms Corrie had been trying to stop Palestinian homes being pulled down in Gaza when she was hit by a bulldozer. Ms Corrie's family believe the Israeli army intentionally and unlawfully killed their daughter, and that they subsequently failed to conduct a full and credible investigation. The Corries family lawyer, Abu Hussein, remained confident an appeal could change the court verdict. "I think the decision to continue the work (by the Israeli Army) at that day was far from reasonable decision. I believe that we could have a good chance to change this decision through the review by the appeal that we are aiming to issue to the Supreme Court." Ms Corrie's death made her a symbol of the second Palestinian uprising that took place roughly between the years 200 and 2005. Thousands of Palestinians were killed and hundreds of Israelis died in suicide ...

A horrified court room looked on today as a man who had just been convicted of burning down his $3.5 million mansion collapsed and died in front of them.Michael Marin, 53, was found guilty of arson by a jury in Maricopa County Superior Court. He appeared shocked and closed his eyes as the verdict was read before appearing to put something in his mouth and wash it down with liquid in a plastic water bottle. Marin burned down his Phoenix mansion on July 5, 2009 after it failed to sell at a charity auction. No one was injured in the blaze but the charge of committing arson of an occupied structure holds the same number of years in prison in Arizona as second-degree murder. If you look you'll see this guy put something in his mouth at :35, then again at 5:06, then he's down for the count at 7:40.

Mass murderer Anders Breivik rejects his 21 year sentence (speech)
Translation: "I do not recognize this court because you received your mandate from political parties which recognize multiculturalism. By setting aside my allegations on principle of necessity for judging a member of the Norwegian Resistance movement, you have sided with the multiculturalism-supporting majority in parliament, therefore you have also expressed support for multicultural ideas. Since I do not recognize the court, I cannot legitimize the Oslo district court by accepting this sentence. In my view this sentence and judgment is illegitimate. At the same time I cannot appeal against the judgment because by appealing I would legitimize the court. I would like to end with a statement of regret, to apologize to all militant nationalists in Norway and in Europe, that I..." The judge cuts him off at this point and orders him to not address any other person in the court but her. [Allegedly he said after he was cut off that he was apologizing to extremists for not claiming more lives]. The Norwegian mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik was declared sane and sentenced to 21 years for killing 77 people.

ICC first verdict: The Prosecutor v. Thomas Lubanga Dyilo.
Thomas Lubanga Dyilo guilty of conscripting and enlisting children under the age of 15 and using them to participate in hostilities ( 14 March 2012). Mr Lubanga Dyilo was the President of the Union des patriotes congolais (Union of Congolese Patriots) (UPC), the Commander-in-Chief of its military wing, the FPLC, and its political leader. Casey Anthony Trial & Verdict - Theory
To learn more about this case, please go to: en.wikipedia.org NOTE: This video is solely my personal theory on what MIGHT have happened to Caylee Marie Anthony, and what might have led her mother, Casey Anthony, to be charged with her death. I have many theories I've toyed around with, but this is just what seems most likely TO ME. This video is only to add to the discussion and give my two cents, if you do not agree with me, that is PERFECTLY FINE :) Please do not start a war, this is a civil debate and all (respectful) opinions are welcome here. Keep it mature, I know tempers are emotions are high regarding this case, but express how you feel and let everyone else know in the comments or as a video response! AS A CONTINUATION OF MY THOUGHTS ON THE NOT GUILTY VERDICT - The Jury in the trial had a job to do, and that was to listen to the evidence presented and make a decision based upon what they heard. They needed to prove what happened BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT, and what the prosecution showed did not prove anything except lies, deception, selfishness and evasion. Unfortunately, they couldn't prove murder. If there is no way to prove murder, there is no way to convict someone of capital murder and give them the death penalty. The jurors were not in our situation. They were chosen BECAUSE they did not know much about the case, and they were in seclusion (sequestered) during the trial to avoid media and public opinion. We cannot, in our justice system, rule on someone's ...
